Tim Sanders might be one of the best online coaches, but is Amazon FBA and private label the best online biz for moms? This Private Label Masters review uncovers what to expect inside the program. I’ll also share what I discovered about Tim’s background and his reputation. By the end of this review, I’ll answer if this course is the best choice for stay-at-home moms and compare it with another business model called local lead generation. 

Private Label Masters is a course on how to sell private label products by sourcing in Alibaba and selling on Amazon. This course is for those who want to start an Amazon biz, looking for an additional income source, and existing Amazon sellers who want to explore private-label. Private Label Masters is one of the most expensive FBA courses. It costs $5,000 for straight payment or $997 per month if you pay in 6 installments. A recent review said the price increased to $7,500 now. But there’s no way to verify if it’s true unless you book a call with the PLM team. Private Label Masters was launched in 2017 and has a 30-day money-back guarantee. Aside from the training modules, students will also get once-a-week coaching and access to a private Facebook community. The private community is free for the first 6 months. After that, you’ll pay $49 monthly to keep your access to the community. Inside Private Label Masters, students will learn how to: 

find profitable products, 

source suppliers, 

optimize listings and, 

how to launch and rank products. 

Tim Sanders is an 8-figure Amazon seller and the creator of Private Label Masters. Many believe that he’s one of the best coaches to learn Amazon FBA from. He shares valuable free content on his YouTube channel and Instagram, which now has 357k subscribers. What’s notable about Tim is that he doesn’t do partnerships like other coaches. All he has is a small team of VAs that he manages well. He would always emphasize learning Amazon from someone who actually sells on Amazon. And that’s because he’s one of the very few coaches who are still active sellers after launching a successful course. Tim still makes 8 figures monthly on Amazon, while most coaches depend on selling their programs to make money. He has now launched over 170 products and grossed over $80 million since he started in 2016. His net worth is estimated to be around $7 million. 

Private Label Masters: Private Label and Amazon FBA

Private Label Masters seems like a decent Amazon FBA course. It’s a Trustpilot-verified company that’s 4.8-star rated out of 347 reviews given. Students commend Tim for his easy-to-understand modules. He has deep knowledge of all the aspects of Amazon FBA. One reviewer even said Tim condensed two-years’-worth of Amazon learning in a single program. Aside from the basic how-to, Tim goes into the details of the business like trademarks, logistics, shipping, accounting, and inventory management. What I like about this course is that Tim Sanders is a high-level Amazon seller himself. He belongs to the top 1% of Amazon sellers worldwide. He continued to sell on Amazon even when his course became popular. This proves Tim practices what he preaches and there’s value in his lessons. His free videos on YouTube show he has high-level knowledge. Tim already has 170 profitable products on Amazon and continues to grow his biz. He’s not the typical guru guy who launches a course after just one or two successful products. 

What I don’t like about this course is that Tim doesn’t talk much about the specifics of running an Amazon business. He just mentions hiring VAs but doesn’t go deeper into the topic. Not everyone has the natural ability to lead a team, so it would have been helpful if he had been more detailed with it. Tim is also relatively new to Amazon FBA compared to other coaches of his caliber, like Jason Katzenback and Matt Clark. Amazon Selling Machine was launched in 2012. So it has a 5-year head start over Private Label Masters. 

FBA and private label are expensive businesses to start. You’ll need an extra $10K to $15K aside from the $5,000 that you pay to learn from Tim. $5,000 goes to your initial inventory. It will be frozen in the next 6 months to a year while you’re setting up as a new Amazon seller. Aside from that, you’ll need funds for campaigns like PPC and other marketing activities that drive traffic. You’ll need a steady source of income for your living expenses as well. Running an Amazon biz isn’t easy, and it’s not a passive income source. You need to dedicate your time to keeping track of inventory, studying business reports, using metrics to monitor store performance, and keeping track of daily sales. 

Amazon FBA is still a profitable business venture. Around 7,500 products are sold per minute, equivalent is around $800,000. 60% of Amazon startups are profitable in their first year of business. There’s an opportunity to make money here, but there’s also a lot on the line. According to TrueProfit, the success rate of Amazon FBA is around 27%. That means 3 of 4 who enter this business end up quitting. Suppose you get Tim’s course, you’ll spend $5K without a guarantee of getting it back. Plus, the cost of your inventory and operating expenses. 

Private Label Masters Review On YouTube

Sourcing Monster is a YouTube channel that reviews ecommerce and Amazon courses. He also has an Amazon FBA course that teaches FBA, Walmart WFS, and ecommerce. The channel was started in January 2020 and has 7.47K subscribers to date. Sourcing Monster regularly uploads content, at least once weekly.

Sourcing Master reviews Private Label Masters. The reviewer starts by explaining what to expect inside the program. He said students get two weeks of weekly live sessions and direct interaction with Tim, lifetime access to the course material, and six months of membership to a private Facebook VIP group. Tim also charges a $49 recurring fee after the initial period covered. The reviewer ends by saying that although Tim is one of the best FBA coaches, success still depends on the individual efforts, capital, and time investment of the student. 

Is Tim Sander's Private Label Masters A Good Fit For Moms? 

Tim's Private Label Masters could be a good fit for moms who have a background in E-commerce. Mompreneurs who are passionate about retail sales could also benefit from the course. However, beginners without prior selling experience might struggle because it’s not a quick-income biz. Amazon is also a saturated marketplace with a global seller population of 9.6 million. 73% of these sellers (around 7 million) are using the FBA order fulfillment method. Competition is very steep, and you’ll need to outspend your competitors in paid ads to stand out. 

My recommendation is a business model that gives you time and financial freedom by building digital assets. It’s called local lead generation. With local lead gen, you build sites and rank them on top of Google. These ranked sites generate leads that you can sell at 85% to 90% profit margins. Over 10 million businesses in the United States don’t have a site of their own, so there’s definitely a market for this rank and rent biz. It’s a beginner-friendly business model and it’s less expensive to start and scale compared to FBA and private label. Building digital real estate and generating leads for small business owners is more profitable than taking a chance on random products, capitalizing on them, and hoping they sell on Amazon. Local lead gen is a passive income source, overhead costs are low, and you can start with just $500.
