This giveaway is now closed. The winner will be announced sometime on Monday, May 26. Thanks for entering!
I love jewelry, but I’m not very girlie. I’m more of a wooden-bead-necklace, simple-silver-hoop-earrings kind of mama. So when I first saw Lisa Leonard Designs featured here and there around the blogosphere, I wanted something of hers right. away.
I’ve always wanted one of those mommy-type of necklaces or bracelets - you know, the kind that embellish your kids’ names on a charm or beads. But I’ve never really found any that were my type. They’re always too… girlie. Too cutesy and bubbly.
That’s why I LOVE Lisa’s designs. They’re sweet and feminine, but they’re not frou-frou. She hammers the sterling silver into something unique and personal - the rustic, handmade feel is trademark to her style. And whether you personalize it with your kids’ names or something else altogether, it will be the only piece of jewelry of its kind, because she hand crafts each one individually.
You really need to go to her store and check out her stuff. Well, read the rest of this post, and then head over there.
How’s this for some eye candy?

And guess what?
Lisa is offering one Simple Mom reader a FREE necklace!
She will make you a handcrafted “tiny squares” necklace (shown at left) with whatever words you want emblazened on the squares. A cream freshwater pearl adds that dollop of femininity I love. This piece of jewelry is valued at $46. I’m getting this very necklace with my two kidlet’s names. I’m so excited!
Here’s how you can enter to win:
1. Leave a comment on this post - tell me your favorite summertime activity.
2. Be sure your comment has a valid e-mail address attached to it!
3. To be entered a second time: subscribe to my feed and look for the secret code at the bottom of any post. E-mail me with the secret code in the subject line to simplemomblog [at] gmail [dot] com.

4. You may enter starting today, May 22 until Sunday, May 25 at midnight Central Standard time. I’ll randomly draw a name and announce the winner on Monday, May 26.
Be sure to explore Lisa’s blog as well. She shares her family’s heartwarming story about her oldest son and his journey through CdLS. A great mama, indeed!
Have fun, and I hope YOU win! No no, not you, the one over there, with the goofy grin on your face. Yes, YOU.

My favorite summertime activity? Playing 4 square in the driveway with the kids. It’s fun. It’s active. The risks of injury are small. And a non-athlete like me can actually play.

My favorite summer activity is making a surprise stop at a playground with my two kids. I pack a picnic lunch and a picnic blanket in the trunk of my car and tell them we’re going to run errands. Then after I tell them we have “just one last stop” I pull into the parking lot and cheer “yay–here’s our last stop!” They love getting “tricked” like this.

the jewelry is amazing! i would love to have any of the pieces! especially one with my kids names on it! my favorite summertime activity is going to the beach…hands down…we try to go every other week. we go to dillon beach near bodega bay. It’s a quiet beach and we love that…the water is too cold to swim but we picnic and walk along the shore…sometimes the kids skim board.

Do I still get a chance to win if I have more than ONE favorite summertime activity ??? LOL
1-Well, I think in the beginning of summer, when the herbs/flowers are breaking through, my favorite thing to do is teach my children (and learn too) and “guess” which flower is which-before it gets big and familiar or before it blooms and gives itself away. So, that is one fun fav.
Another is lying under a sheet in the yard and napping, which I rarely get to do with my 3 boys running around, but it is a very cherished thing to do in the summer when it happens.
3-read read read
4-read at the beach, read at the beach, read at the beach
if naming more than one disqualifies me, please only use number 1-hee hee

I’m so with you on the jewellery thing!
My favourite summertime thing is taking the kids to a nearby lake for the morning. We get ready the night before, pack up early, and have hours of relatively cool, people free play before the crowds arrive just before lunchtime. Peaceful, relaxing, and fun. :0)

WOW! I like this necklace. Wouldn’t it be great with all the grandkids names? (I know, I may not be eligible - being your mom and all.) But my favorite summer activity would be to be in the Colorado mountains at a log cabin with a clear stream running by sitting in a comfortable chair outside listening to the birds and the sound of grandkids giggles. Oh, back to reality… How about a picnic at Zilker.

I love the farmers market in the summertime… and going back each week to see what wonderful new fruit is at it’s peak. Sampling all the fresh yumminess. All the families. The music. The children and the old folks dancing “like nobody’s watching”.

My favorite summer memory/tradition is making small floats for our neighborhood parade on the 4th of July. We started this tradition with some friends when our kids were less than a year old. The first float was made out of a pack n play on wheels (we added) adorned with streamers, balloons and all things red, white and blue. Inside were 2 little infants enjoying the ride. Afterwards we bbq on our block with all of our neighbors! So fun!

My current favorite activity is sitting outside on a lawn chair watching the kids play in a wadding pool. It amazes me that they can be completely entertained in area that is no bigger than 10 by 4 for hours on end with nothing more than water, a few balls and old tupperware. Gotta love cheap summer fun.

My favorite summertime activity are daytrips with my family. My husband has fridays off during the summer and we live about an hour outside of LA, so we try to take advantage of all the fun things there are to do in the city, yet we still get to go home at the end of the day! I love to do this! The necklace is beautiful and there’s nothing this mom loves more then to “wear” her kids! Thanks for offering this!
