I was never big into pushing the Santa thing, either, but we would casually/winky-winky mention Santa around my firstborn. When she was two years old, she looked at me hard and said, “But it’s ACTUALLY you and Daddy giving me the presents, right? I mean, because Santa isn’t REAL.”
Age two.
She just did the same thing with the Tooth Fairy last week. Absolutely refused to “play the game.”
It’s hilarious to me, because this child *lives* in an entirely different reality than the rest of us at any given moment. The most creative and imaginative brain I’ve ever met. But she won’t go in for other people’s fantasies. lol. I love her!
