I’m so glad you posted the bike mom post! We were in Ladd’s Addition yesterday and I told the friend I was with about that article. Then we saw her and her brood riding down the street. You’d have thought I saw a celebrity, I was so excited!

A friend was kind enough to point me in the direction of the “six kids, no car” piece – I had not had a chance to checkout the weekend links and would have missed out on a wonderful opportunity to slap my knee, shake my head and sit dumb struck while I read. I am not sure why the image of a woman peddling 500+ pounds of people and stuff back and forth gets everyone all excited but to each his own. I don’t think that using a bungee cord on a screaming non-compliant child is a bad idea just not on the back of a bicycle . . . haha. It’s great her life is constructed in such a way that spending an hour getting ready just to run an errand works for her and limiting her children’s exposure to the world to a 20 mile max per day works for her and her family but realistically I don’t think that this is a trend that is going to grab hold and go viral. There are things beyond the limits of my calfs that I would like to show my beloved daughter and so the car stays
