Have you seen Thrift Haul, the weekly feature on Simple Design? Ari shows us her recent finds, and then invites everyone to share! It’s like getting to browse your local thrift stores—for free. I found this chair (above) a few weeks ago, and I was immediately smitten. It’s in great condition, is really comfortable, and doesn’t smell old at all. It’s even better in person. Only $30! Wonderful lines on that chair. What a deal! And I loved the blog entry by 10-year-old Sofia about how allowance works in her house. I had my son (12) read it. He said, “Whoa, she gets less allowance than I do but will be able to afford an iPod soon?” Hopefully he’ll stop spending all of his allowance on Pokemon cards now.

Our post is reminding me that I have to get material for the neighbor boy to recover my Grandma’s set of kitchen chairs that I got before she died. He will be taking the chairs to the county fair. When I get them back in the fall, we are going to move the table into my kitchen with the chairs.
