I loved to play Little House on the Prairie. We would make mud cookies using dried white dandilion seeds for the sugar. I remember all that so vividly.

Sounds like a very inspiring book for those of us who need more creativity with our children. My favorite thing to do as a child was play with my neighbor friends.... pretend clubs, swimming in our backyard pools and of course playing with our barbies and clothes for hours.

Playing "house" with my baby doll was my favorite way to enjoy childhood days. My dad built a little playhouse in the backyard, which provided the venue for many occasions of practicing hospitality toward imaginary guests!

I loved giving my Farah Fawcett head-doll new hairdos. In fact, I taught myself to french braid on that doll at age 8.

Love this book! Had our public library order it, but would love my very own copy. I was just reminded of one of my favorite "games" the other day. I liked to make up research topics and organize them by month. I never actually did any of the research, but I enjoyed making the lists.

Paper dolls. I haven't thought about them in a long time, long time. My favorite was a set of The Monsters. I used to love to take Grandpa's cape on and off. :)

We would also take the Sears catalog and cut out pictures of the furniture they sold so our dolls would have something to sit on, refrigerators to put their food in, etc. !

What a fantastic interview...so nice to have like minded families to learn from!

My favorite thing to do as a kid was tidal pooling in front of my parents' Inn. The cove was in a small New England town, great for tourists and fun for local kids. It didn't matter what time of year, I enjoyed the salt air in my hair and the thrill of the hunt. During the summer months, I ventured in the deep part (my parents unaware) and foraged for lobsters - they were simply amazed with what I brought home, to quickly bring back to it's rightful home. Believe it or not, I was very successfull with finding crabs, starfish and sea irchins - I am still today!
I now take my children to the coast and do the same...it's spiritual for me and just a ton of fun for them!
