I love going to the city park with a picnic to watch the Independence Day fireworks.
My son and I love to stay at the local pool until closing time, 9:00 or 10:00 depending on the night, but definitely after the sun has set. There’s nothing nicer than swimming in a pool after dark with the soft glow of the underwater lights casting their cozy glow.

I love to turn on the sprinkler with little tubs of water around it. The tubs fill up and the kids can play in their own little mini pools that don’t get all gross without the chlorine. If they dump them over, they fill right back up! Add some shaving cream, little cups, wash rags, squirt bottles, and tempra paint and it’s a great messy fun time with clean-up built right in!
Camping is definitely our favorite summer family activity. However, I also love summers because my husband is around (he’s a teacher) to spend more time with me and the kiddos. Only 5 more days of school. YAHOO!

Family Reunions. We head to NH every year for a week with my side of the family, which is fun and familiar, very much steeped in tradition. Every three years we get together with my husband’s family and head off to a new and different place. It is a wonderful time to explore, reconnect, get to know each other again. Both of these reunions have so much meaning for our family, as we strengthen these bonds.
