I started my kitchen today and yes it is a small one, but I managed to do the insides of all the drawers and all the cabinets but 3, which is all the bottom ones and the fridge. I am 33 weeks pregnant and take naps so I did the higher cabinets and all the drawers while the kids were playing. We have been eating all the leftovers so the refrigerator will be empty. I may tackle that tonight. I threw out a stove size full of things and am enjoying the results. And I found more multiples of things to thrift away. I was amazed by how many kids' medicine cups and syringes I had. We can use those for development of small motor skills. I can't wait to really clean all the surfaces well tomorrow. I will my hubby get the oven.

I'm about a week behind according to the Spring Cleaning chart, but I'm still plugging away. Thanks for motivating me to take everything out of the cabinets, to put "like with like" and to organize.

How funny that you are reading the same book I just happened to buy! What an exciting experiment they ventured on.

And I love the spice cupboard. I may just have to reorganize mine. Thanks for the tips!

It was a TON of work, but I feel really really good about the pantry and stockpile area! I even went out and bought some pretty liner paper to line the shelves. Now it isn't such an eyesore anymore as well as being newly organized and clean! My favorite part of my kitchen would have to be our new fridge (more space!) and my lovely deep red walls. I really dislike the yellow countertops and the brown linoleum, though. You can never be too sure how clean it is with brown linoleum...!

Well...I am loosely doing the cleaning party with you! I bought the e book about a month ago, and spent the last month on day one (breezily collecting things to get rid of). Then when you tackeled the cleaning, I skipped to the kitchen because that was what was most in need of cleaning (we have only been in our house 6 months, so the living space is still very organized). The kitchen however...was another story! Our new kitchen was completed 5 1/2 months ago, while I was at the hospital birthing my second child! My mother unpacked the kitchen boxes while I was in the hospital, bless her heart, but it has been driving me nuts ever since!
My organization tricks I'm trying:
1) I made several boxes in my pantry so that I can just grab that box while making certain things. For example I made one 'baking staples" and included soda, powder, icing/brown sugar. I made another 'indian spices' since I do a lot of Indian cooking I can just grab that small box and bring it to the stove top.
2) I am keeping my toaster on a small wooden tray. This way I am more prone to pop it in the cupboard, and gives additional mess control to the rarely emptied crumb tray!
I'm finding you cleaning supplies really great, though I must confess I had to add a few drops of bleach to the all purpose!
Thanks for this inspiration!
I plan to do my living spaces this weekend (my husband is away) and keep up next week!

Here's a tip for the microwave... before you spend ages scrubbing the crusty interior, microwave a cup of water with a 1/2 a lemon squeezed into it. It will steam all those food particles and help loosen them, plus the lemon will get rid of odors. Yay!
