Welcome to Simple Living Media’s Home for the Holidays! We’ve got 25 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win a great gift, just in time for the holidays.
Today I’m giving away $100 in soy candles from Soy Delites! These delectably smelling candles are a great gift idea — give a whole set to one lucky person on your list, or divide them up among several people and save one for yourself.
I’ve enjoyed having one of these candles burning near round-the-clock since Christy, the store’s owner, sent me nine of her favorite scents. I love having a subtle, seasonal, refreshing scent in the background of my home, and Soy Delites candles definitely fit the bill.
At $100, you could get nearly a year’s worth of soy candles, and with a plethora of scents, you can enjoy plumeria in the spring, pomegranate in the summer, pumpkin in the fall, and patchouli in the winter.

I first “met” Christy on Twitter, when she retweeted one of my posts here on Simple Mom. I’d been keeping my eye out for a soy candle vendor, since I love burning quality scented candles without the headache or plasticy-ness of traditional ones.
Little did I know that she was in Austin, and lives on the same street I did when I was in college! She lives basically 20 minutes from me right now. Small world.
Christy was excitedly on board about giving one of you a collection of her favorite candles, so we agreed that I could pick some up to review at one of Austin’s farmer’s markets.

Tate, sniffing away at the Soy Delites stand at the farmer's market.
Because they’re 100 percent soy, Soy Delites candles last longer, burn cleaner, and smell richer than traditional wax candles. And of my, do they smell heavenly.
One afternoon I was burning the pumpkin candle while Kyle was working upstairs. He came down for a quick drink of water, and immediately said, “What are you baking? It smells amazing.” If only he could eat the candle… (Well, I guess he could, since it’s made of soy, but I doubt it tastes like the pumpkin bread it smells like.)
I love that no matter the scent, all the candles are undyed — no sickly pink or orange colors to work around. They’re all a simple white, perfect for any home. And the glass container the candles are made in make great drinking glasses afterwards.
So far, I’ve loved burning the pumpkin, spice, and Hill Country Christmas scents — they’re perfect for the holiday season (the latter smells like a Christmas tree). A quick sniff tells me I’m in for a treat with the ginger lemongrass, midnight fig, and ocean scents I still have.
Christy and her husband Garland have worked tirelessly to create high-quality candles worthy of display in any home. They made their first soy candle in 2002 and were soon amazed at how great they smelled and how long they lasted. Christy was especially surprised that she didn’t get headaches from them.
Once they learned all the disadvantages of paraffin candles versus the benefits of soy candles, they were hooked. After several months of experimentation with scent, color, and design, they launched their business in April 2003.
I love supporting local, small businesses, and Soy Delites is totally worth my family’s patronage. With low-cost shipping worldwide, I highly recommend buying from Christy when you’re in the market for soy candles.

Ginger Sandalwood would be my pick second only to lavender.
It would be a tough call between pumpkin and spice, but I’d probably have to go with spice.

Honorable mentions go to Plumeria and Spice. (Can you tell I’m indecisive?)

i’m just starting to get into this whole non-paraffin candle thing. it’s sad to think that something as seemingly harmless as candles really isn’t all that harmless depending on what they’re made from. anyway, i always like lavender as a scent.
I “liked” Soy Delites

Definitely the pumpkin!
They all sound wonderful, but if I have to pick just one, it would be spice, followed by vanilla.
Hmmm… what a tough pick! Considering the holiday season kicked into full gear already at our house, I guess vanilla, pumpkin and spice sound reeeally good. Basic vanilla seems to be an all time, year round favorite in our home anyways… personally, I am also intrigued to try the pomegranate, fruit explosion, and devine delight… they all sound soooo fabulous. I think I may have just gotten myself a little Christmas gift!
Thx for sharing
