Giveaway: cubo Sound System from sonoro

This giveaway has now ended. Check back soon for the winner!

Welcome to Simple Living Media’s Home for the Holidays! We’ve got 25 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win a great gift, just in time for the holidays.

It’s been such a fun week — I love blessing you guys with the chance to win these great gifts for the holidays. We really do have the best readers around here. So for the grand finale here, today I’m giving away this sonoro cubo , valued at $299!

This beautiful piece is a CD player, mp3 player, radio, and alarm clock. And the sound for something so small is impeccable.

Have a music lover in your life? Or just a gadget guy? Learn more about this company and how to win this cubo.

As soon as the FedEx guy pulled in to our driveway, Kyle shot out of his seat and ran out the door like he’d just seen Santa. He knew sonoro was sending us their cubo, and — well, let’s just say Kyle has a special relationship with gadgets. He couldn’t wait to get his mitts on this thing.

And that’s just what he did after he opened the box — except first, he put the enclosed white gloves on his mitts.

This sound system is beautiful. Beautiful. And I don’t call electronics beautiful very often. This music player is only about 8×10 inches, barely taking up any space on our shelf, and it looks modern and sophisticated. That’s my kind of electronic — the smaller, the better, in my opinion.

Each cubo is wrapped in all wood, and either hand sprayed and polished to a high gloss lacquer, or wrapped in real wood veneer. Ours is black, and it works perfectly in our simple home. Tate, of course, wished it were pink. We told her to enter today’s giveaway and maybe she can get her own.

(Just kidding. She’s not allowed to enter the giveaway.)

Most importantly, the sound is exquisite. We play music around our house nearly non-stop, so our cubo has already logged plenty of hours. Up till now, we’ve plugged in simple portable speakers to our iPods. That works okay. But the sonoro cubo picks up on layers and form to music I didn’t know I was missing.

Just a few days ago, in fact, I was playing Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear, and on the track While You Wait for the Others, I heard guitars I didn’t even know were in the song. I had to play it again. And I was mesmerized. (That’s also because this band is absolutely amazing. They’re Reed’s favorite right now.)

We’ve also plugged our television in to the cubo for our family movie night, and the sound is better from there than the TV itself. Go figure.

    The red dust is over the town;
    The sparrows are under the eaves,
    And the grass in the paddock is brown
