My lovely friend Alli Worthington (@alliworthington) just released her e-book this week, The Smart Girl’s Guide to Twitter. And if anyone should write this book, it’s Alli. She knows social media — and Twitter in particular — better than anyone I know.
I use Twitter for this blog (@simplemom), and I think it’s a fun tool, but I honestly learned quite a bit just from my first glance at her e-book. I’ve been on Twitter since the spring of 2008 (ancient, in the Twitter world), but it can still be confusing to me.
If you’ve wanted to learn Twitter for fun, or if you’ve wanted to better leverage Twitter for your business, this book will help you out tremendously. I really recommend the investment.
In The Smart Girl’s Guide to Twitter, you’ll learn:
- Twitter terminology and culture.
- Twitter Etiquette. Do’s, don’ts and best practices.
- How to follow everyone without getting overwhelmed.
- How to build your network in a smart, honest way.
- How to spot a Twitter spammer.
- How to set up a private, secret account for your close family and friends, and why this is so handy.
- Free Twitter tools Alli uses to do everything from saving money, staying organized, to storing photos on the go.
- How to combine your Twitter account and your blog and integrate Facebook easily.
- How to set up Twitter tools so you can use Twitter to save time, not waste time.
And tons more, truly. I haven’t come across an e-book this thorough and comprehensive! And lucky you, Alli is giving three Simple Mom readers a free copy of The Smart Girl’s Guide to Twitter!
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, telling me either why you love Twitter, or why you haven’t yet joined Twitter.
This giveaway lasts only for 24 hours, so it ends tonight, Sunday, September 27, at 11:59 p.m.
I hope you win!

I have a twitter but I am not sure how to use it. I need help to learn how to navigate on it.
I just got a twitter account, because I’m horrible at keeping up to date on my blog. Shorter means more likely to update, right?
I signed up for twitter earlier this week because my writers group said as an author I absolutely need one, but I did so with great reluctance. I feel like it’s just one more thing I’ll have to manage, though they tell me it can be a lot of fun.
I’ve joined twitter, I think. Technology can be overwhelming to me. I’d like a simple guide.
I signed up for Twitter to see what it was all about, but I never use it, because I don’t get it. Sounds like I really need this book!
I’d love to win.
so funny to find that you blogged on this today because i just signed up for a twitter account last night and really didn’t know how to use it. i am excited to learn great tips!
Sounds great. I’ll definitely be downloading this ebook. Thanks for sharing.

I do not use Twitter… yet… I have just figured out facebook and texting! But, I am interested to learn how to grow my busines, and keep track of friends… so pick me pick me!
Tsh – I really love everything you write. It often feels like you get inside my head. But this? I just signed up for Twitter and click over to your reader to find this. Perfect! (‘cuz, as usual, I’ve signed up for something before I’ve learned how to use it). Keep up the great work – Simple Mom is the best.
