One of the fun perks to the eco-savvy trend is all the great products out there now. And many times, their initial cost is worth the money-saving benefit they provide in the long run. Today, several of you will have a chance to win some!
Reusable bags are one of the easiest ways to go green – and let’s face it, they’re so much cuter than plastic grocery bags. Almost 1 trillion plastic bags are annually consumed worldwide, and they’re not biodegradable.
In the month I’ve had my reusable bags, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using them. When I whip one out from my purse in the checkout line, the most common response I get is, “Those are so cool!” I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using plastic.
Here are the brands I’ve enjoyed using, and who are rewarding a few Simple Mom readers with some of their bags.

Shop Wise Bags
• Perks – These durable oilcloth bags are shaped just like traditional grocery sacks, so they fold up nicely and stand up well. I’ve been using mine lately to cart around diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for my kids in the car. And I love all their great patterns and colors.
• Giveaway – One reader will win a set of three high-quality Shop Wise bags!

Envirosax
• Perks – These bags are much bigger than they seem. They hold so much stuff, and they’re easy to fold up and secure with the velcro tabs. They’re pretty, too.
• Giveaway – One reader will win a set of five Envirosax bags!

B. Happybags
• Perks – These high-quality, durable canvas bags can hold a lot of stuff, and their wide openings mean I can toss big things along with no problem. Plus, they’re adorable.
• Giveaway – One reader will win four B. Happybags!

ACME Bags
• Perks – These are mesh bags, which are perfect for produce. They fold up tiny, so you can hold multiple in your purse no problem. I’m so impressed with how durable they are – for as lightweight as they are, they can really hold some heavy stuff.
• Giveaway – One reader will win three ACME mesh bags from ReusableBags.com!

RuMe
• Perks – I love how this micro bag folds up securely and easily, and its medium-sized shape holds things neatly. We use ours to tote books and crayons to and from the car.
• Giveaway – One reader will win a micro RuMe, a 13 ounce Earthlust bottle, and a Wrap-n-Mat from Mama Goes Green – all things I use and love!

Flip & Tumble
• Perks – These bags scrunch up nicely, and the colors are great, too. The 24-7 bags wads up into a ball, which means you’re carrying an instant toy for small children – and I love the felt shoulder pad, because normally bags and purses are always falling off my shoulder.
• Giveaway – One reader will win one 24-7 bag and two Loopt bags!

I love grocery shopping (time alone! with food!) and would enjoy it even more with a funky reusable bag on my arm!
We either recycle our plastic bags or we use them for other functions. We also recycle all our glass, paper, cardboard, etc. I’d love to win some of these reusable bags and eliminate a lot of my plastic bags altogether!
I reuse containers instead of buying tons of thos Glad ones, twisty ties of loaves of bread for sleeves of crackers, and old t-shirts and socks as dust rags. I also use Target bags as trash bags in the bathroom…they fit into the trash can perfectly! : )
The bags are AWESOME and I REALLY hope I win some!!

I reuse the plastic bags from the grocery store. I use them for everything I can think of. I also reuse my kids school papers. I turn them over and use them to write lists on, scrap paper for math, and “school” for my 3 year old.
I love these bags! I love my reusable bags, and I have started to ‘collect’ them. I want all different ones, from different sources.
I reuse the kids leftovers’ for dog treats! The kids often have bits of chicken or hamburger that they “just can’t finish”. So instead of tossing them I use them for dog training treats. The dog loves it! And he’ll do anything for me when he knows I have those treats in my hand!
Love consignment shops and thrift stores too!

I know this may sound cheap, but we don’t throw away our napkins after every use. We fold them inside out and use again. Hey, we know how much kids use their napkins anyways, right? We don’t want them to get in the practice of not thinking about what they throw away. Think before you toss

We reuse ….sour cream containers for left overs, milk jugs for freezer to make sure full (dsaving energy) or in the toliet tank to use less water. I also use the back side of printer paper to get most usage out of a sheet.
The best thing about my favorite reusable bags (from Trader Joe’s) is that they’re plasticized, which is important in the soggy Northwest! I can put them down while loading the car and I don’t have to worry that the bottom will dissolve!

Those bags are adorable! What a great give-away. We reuse card-board boxes–My 3 year old twin boys love coloring/painting them and building forts and houses with them. It’s a great rainy day activity!
one of the items i try to reuse is glass jars. good for spices and other goodies.
I often reuse Ziploc-type bags. Depending on what has been inside, they can be easy to wash and dry.
Ok, it doesn’t appear to have saved my comments.
We reuse napkins. I know it may sound gross but we don’t throw away our napkins after every use. We look and save if possible. We will turn them inside out and use again, but not for guests
We want our kinds to think before they toss.

Love this giveaway! We reuse the cardboard boxes they pack your food in from Costco to store and cart our recyclables to our complex bins outside. We also wash and reuse plastic takeout containers for carting leftovers to work.

I use a Swiffer wet jet mop but clip a damp (old) washcloth to the mop pad instead of buying the disposable (and expensive) mop pads sold for the product. It’s cheaper, better for the environment, and I think the rough washcloth surface picks up more grime and gets my floors cleaner. A win-win, for sure!

I am so excited about this giveaway. I just started using these reusable bags for my grocery shopping a few months ago. When you have a family of 8 you go through A LOT of grocery bags. I have several “walmart” reusable bags & just the other day I got several AYSO bags that I’m going to start using. I had to pay $1 for the walmart bags, bu the AYSO ones were free & how can you beat prices like that when you know in the long run it will save so much of our environment. Thanks Simple Mom for all of your knowledge & insight!

I save anything I print at home and any paper that has one clean side. I cut these into smaller sizes, staple them and give them to my two year olds as their very own book! The love it, they pack them around and write on them, add stickers, or stamps. Once these are used up I add them to the recycle bin that way I’m getting a little extra use before it gets recycled.

My husband loves this one kind of lunch meat and it comes in Gladware containers, we just got married and I didn’t have any tupperware, so I figure for the price of regular lunchmeat, I get a free gladware too!
I reuse our food trash for compost! And any plastic bags from stores around town are repursposed to house stinky diapers so the trash can doesn’t get all gunked up!
well, this would be so cool to win! thanks for the opportunity. okay, I reuse plastic sandwich baggies by washing them out and drying, then throw them away when they’ve had enough. I always take old clothes might not be great to give away and turn them into useful things – draft snakes, cloths, kids art aprons, etc.
I reuse any sort of plastic containers that I can get my hands on… Just yesterday I was working on an art project with my son & used the plastic container that a set of child-proof outlet covers came in to pour our paint in!
Around here we re-use the bags that our tortillas come in. They have a zip-loc type closure and are good for all kinds of uses.

Yesterday I took all the uncolored hair away. In the box of hair color it came in two plastic containers. They are the perfect heighth to add to my vanity drawer to hold nail clippers, hair twisties, eyeshadows, all kinds of things.
I print coupons on the back of unwanted mail. If I print on new paper I use all the paper that I can by turning it over to print on the bottom of the back of the page. This leaves a blank section in the middle. I cut the coupons and write my list per store on the unused strip out of the middle. I put my coupons into envelopes that are from received mail and go shopping. Need some bags!!!!

I LOVE to re-use the containers I get from Trader Joe’s goodies. I peel off the labels and use them all over the house to hold decorations, hair supplies and makeup!
I take empty cardboard cereal boxes and food boxes, tape the ends shut, and re-use them with my toddler as giant stacking blocks. Love the bags. I’m green with envy
I should have included this with my other comment, but here’s my blogpost about this giveaway!

I reuse water bottles. THey are so conveniently sized but instead of throwing them out or buying new ones, I rinse them out and fill them up again with fresh water. I’ve also started using lots of tea towels instead of paper towels. I’m surprised at how few paper towels I really “need!”
Another great giveaway, thank you! I re-use paper that would otherwise go in the recycling – typically a4 only printed on one side. I tear it in half or quarters, and make a pile of paper, held together with a bulldog clip. Great for quick lists and doodles, or to have by the phone!
I have been meaning to get some of these for a while now, but never know the pros and cons to many of the different options out there, this is so helpful, thank you!

I reuse pretty much everything. I save old clothing for quilts, and I use some of them to make bags/purses for my daughters. I reuse butter bowls and the such for storage containers for just about everything! I save paper towel and toilet paper rolls to make fire startes for my father in law and others I know with a fireplace! I also use cloth diapers, cloth wipes, cloth napkins and cloth family paper in the bath room as well, to me its worth the trouble to preserve Earths beauty. I recycle anything we can’t reuse!
I finally convinced my daughter to use a reusable lunch sack!
She decided it’s not so hard to carry the empty bag back to her locker after lunch.
I use fabric grocery bags that I made. It took me a while to get used to them, but now it is a habit. It is so nice not to have all those plastic bags around! I also have reusable produce bags.
Andrea´s last blog post…6 pack reusable mesh produce bags with bonus brown floral storage bag
I LOVE YOUR BAGS AND WOULD LOVE TO WIN ONE! I REUSE PLASTIC BAGS AND BROWN PAPER BAGS WHEN I CLEAN MY CAT’S LITTER BOX. I PUT A PAPER BAG INSIDE OF A PLASTIC STORE BAG THEN JUST TIE IT SHUT. I ALSO USE PLASTIC BAGS AS TRASH BAGS IN MY WASTE BASKETS. I HAVE MANY OF THE STORE BAGS THAT I REUSE AND LOVE THEM FOR CARRING JUST ABOUT ANYTHING! I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF MOVING INTO A NEW HOUSE AND I AM FOREVER GRABBING A REUSUABLE BAG OR EVEN A LARGE BROWN BAG WITH HANDLES AND LOADING IT WITH STUFF TO CARRY TO THE NEW HOUSE! WHEN I GET A LARGE AMOUNT OF PLASTIC BAGS, I DROP THEM OFF AT GIANT EAGLE’S RECYCLING BIN. AND I SAVE MY EMPTY MARGARINE CONTAINERS TO USE FOR LEFTOVERS OR TO GIVE LEFTOVERS TO MY FAMILY.
I’ve been reading the The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. It always gets me in the Christmas mood!
I’ve been reading The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. It always gets me in the Christmas mood!
I enjoy recycling paper and cans with curbside recycling, and I take all our cardboard to the center once a month. My husband comments on the “avalanche” of cardboard every now and then, which reminds me to take it! I hope to start worm composting sometime in the new year–a compost pile just won’t work here—little critters like to use it as “Luby’s Cafeteria”!!
i reuse cleaned out empty cans. i have a safety can opener that doesn’t leave any sharp edges, so i feel safe reusing the cans. i usually use mod podge to glue fabric scraps or colorful paper scraps, in a pleasing pattern. i then use them to hold small items like crayons for the kids, office supplies, or if the cans are larger i can use them as vases for a scrappy table centerpiece. i sometimes get the kids involved and let them decorate them to their liking. i also reuse the really large containers of chocolate powder mix, by decorating in the same way, but using them to store larger items. and they have their own lid, so they’re good for storage. the kids like to store toys and art supplies in them.
Great giveaways! We reuse plastic bread bags for homemade bread, a laundry soap container to continually refill with homemade laundry soap. We recycle jars and plastic containers as well as baskets for all sorts of things. Would love to have reusable grocery bags!
Ooooh! I love this topic! The two things that stick out in my mind that we re-purpose here are my little boy’s bibs and the plastic containers from his baby wipes. He stopped using bibs quite a while ago(about 2 years!) so I decided to cut the tabs off of them, thoroughly wash them in warm water a few times and start using them in the kitchen! They work wonderfully and sometimes doubles as pot holders because of the thickness of them.
I use the plastic wipes containers to hold his small toys, hold samples I may get in the mail, and to hold my coupons that I plan on either giving away or trading with other couponers. I saw this idea on a message board site and I immediately fell in love with it.
Amiyrah´s last blog post…Good Bye….old friend…
We are always re-painting old stuff; frames, furniture, mirrors, vases, etc. and reusing shoe boxes, coffee cans, jars for storage. Recently, I used some old kids sweatshirts to make our two dogs sweaters (since they would be outside in 40 degree temperatures for a while). I’m loving all of the other tips on this post – great ideas!
When our sheets get holes in them, I cut them into paper-towel-sized rectangles and use them instead of paper towels — for wiping spills, scouring the sink, cleaning messy baby faces, etc. Pop ‘em in the laundry and they’re good to go forever. When I have a cold, I sometimes use them as handkerchiefs (flannel sheets).
We keep the plastic bags that newspapers are delivered in to use for transporting used diapers when we are out & about.
We also reuse water. After cleaning the sink, I plug the drain and catch all the water that gets used for washing hands, rinsing fruits and vegetables, etc. Dishes soak in that before going into the dishwasher. I only use fresh water for washing dishes that don’t go in the machine…
Terrific topic! Thanks to everyone for the great ideas.

We reuse a lot in our house. One thing my kids and I love to do is reuse those lunch meat containers as window boxes to grow herbs in our window.
We also reuse the lids of bottles of water. I write my kids spelling words and other words they need to know each week. We use them for different activities, then when we are done we stick them in an old shoe box. At the end of each week we review all of the words they have learned for the year.
We reuse/repurpose a lot of stuff around the house, but my two favorites are t-shirts (which become quilts, bags, rags, and all sorts of other things) and tackle boxes. People keep giving them to us, and I love it, because they are great for storing jewelry, odds and ends, decorating gear, tons of stuff!
What else do you reuse or repurpose around your home?
I re-use coffee cans to decorate, I re-use diaper wipe containers and make them into little boxes to store recipes, my son has his own to store his magnetic letters and pictures. I could go on and on!

Well, what I do reuse are the very plastic bags that we are trying to eliminate–reused as trash bags after Iget the groceries home.
I’m saving the boxes from our diapers to make a “train” for my son. I’ll decorate the outside of the boxes to look like the various cars on a train and then he can put all his “friends” (stuffed animals) in the boxes to be the passengers. We’l l connect them all with a rope. I think he’s going to love it!
i got this idea from another give away that you did. i have made my own reusable produce bags. they are great and i don’t have to worry about wasting another plastic bag in the trash.
p.s. i blogged your giveaway

I love to reuse things around the house.
Here are some items I’ve reused recently
-pasta sauce jars – they are now sugar containers – one for brown sugar, one for white sugar
-empty garlic powder shaker – I’ve now filled this up with paprika, which came in a plastic bag. It’s much easier to use now that its in a shaker
-cloth basmati rice bag (5kg) – I use this instead of a grocery bag at the moment. It’s made of cloth and is very strong.
-tissue box – I’ve stuffed this full of any plastic bags that do make their way into this house – and re-use the plastic bags as garbage bags.
I’ve blogged about the giveaway here:

We use reusable shopping bags also and I LOVE how much more they carry. For the few plastic bags we accumulate we reuse as trash bags in our bathrooms. I also reuse coffee cans a lot. I can always find a use for them. Thanks!
Nicki´s last blog post…My Botched Knitted Hat – Recovered!
I reuse freezer bags and big storage bags (I feel like my Grandma!). My husband uses empty jars, lemonade mix containers, etc. to hold hardware in his workshop. We donate all of our plastic containers (whipped topping, sour cream) to a local soup kitchen to package leftovers and send with people. Last Christmas I reused tin cans to wrap small gifts. I stuffed them with tissue paper, put the lids back in place and tied them with jute twine. Old baby wipe boxes make great storage for stickers, etc. in our craft cabinet. Much of the furniture and decorative accessories in our home are either reused or have been repurposed by way of a yard sale or Craigslist.
same as most…bags, plastic containers–also feed sacks from livestock feeds for holding all my paper recycling stuff…
We reuse plastic bottles as water/bath toys, and we use glass jars for leftovers.
We have cut back so much on what goes in the garbage. I’m surprised by how much of the stuff we don’t need, could actually be used by others. I love freecycle for this. Tons of our junk has been turned into useful items by complete strangers.
World’s Greatest Mommy´s last blog post…A Rollicking Band of Pirates
We repurpose a LOT of stuff. . . worn out socks get used as rags & dry erase board erasers or, if they have a cool design, they get cut up for crafty things. Backs of school papers, envelopes & other blank sides of paper get used as doodle paper or grocery list paper. worn out clothing gets refashioned or cut up for patchwork crafts. I’m sure there are more things I’m missing here. . . but it’s our mission to keep things in use until they have no possible other duty.
We repurpose glass baby food jars to hold spices. This way we can buy the bags of spices, at a fraction of the cost.
What an awesome giveaway! We try to repurpose lots of things. When we’re done with candles that come in glass containers, we reuse them to decorate or to hold small items from our dresser (jewelry, buttons, etc.) or in the bathroom. We’ve also been cutting old bath towels into 4 smaller towels and reusing them in the kitchen so we could eliminate using paper towels altogether.
If I win any of these bags, I will reuse them as gift wrap. I have reusable bags of my own, but this Christmas, instead of wasting wrapping paper that will likely be thrown away, I want to give all my gifts in reusable shopping bags. Saves Christmas waste and encourages the recipient to stop using plastic bags. I’d be killing 2 birds with 1 stone!

I’m actually attending a “Second Home Boutique” tonight at our church. People have donated used goods and then for $5 a bag, you can go shopping at the boutique. It’s a great way to get rid of some clutter in your home but also reuse a few “new” to you things for your house!
I like to reuse egg cartons and take out food containers for painting with my little one! I keep fabric scaps too for more art projects! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
I reuse mailing bags to send out books on my book recycling website….I am also going green by cloth diapering my lo
I like turning something old into something new. Over the past couple of months I have turned three old windows into photo displays by cleaning the glass and adding a fresh coat of paint. The best part is the windows were found at a Habitat for Humanity Restore for $1.00 each. Along with the paint, I spent maybe $2.00 total. Now I have 3 photo displays that hold 6-9 photos each that i can change out easily.
I also love reusing bags/bows we recieve for gifts.
We reuse just about everything. I like to use old plates (maybe they’re knicked or have a thin scratch) to set plant pots on and even candle arrangements. I’ve also taken those last bits of crayon and melted them in a non-stick muffin pan… it makes little crayon cookies that make fun color combinations when used.
I love bags! My husband rolls his eyes when I bring another tote bag home, but there are so many good uses for them.
As for things we reuse…A bunch of stuff goes in the compost bin. The rabbit gets the inside of the toilet paper rolls. The kids love to cut and paste from old magazines. If paper is only printed on one side we save it to use the other side. Boxes and packing envelopes get reused for Ebay.
The bags are fantabulous! We strive to find a multitude of purposes for our “disposable” items. We use plastic lunch meat containers as drawer dividers in our “junk” drawer. They are also used as toys in my girls play kitchen. Old t-shirts are used as smocks, dusting rags, etc. Any glass jars are repurposed as vases, pencil/pen holders etc. Wipes containers hold hair supplies (barettes, ponytail holders). Older baby clothes that are a bit stained are used as doll clothes…those are just a few ways we try to reuse…thanks for a great offer.
We use our food scraps to compost for our garden and reuse our plastic grocery bags for garbage can liners. Also, we reuse our plastic water bottles several times before we are done with them.
Wow – such great bags to win, and so many great ideas, guess I am out of the running
But I wanted to share anyway…
We reuse glass jars – for just about anything. Sometimes for the kids’ art supplies, sometimes for them to make things, sometimes for us to store (edible or non-edible) things in! We always reuse paper and junk mail and magazines from anything from art projects to notepaper, and the kids LOVE using TP- and papertowel rolls for making all sorts of fun and interesting things. We don’t get shopping bags anymore – we already have some reuseable ones – but we use those same bags from everything from grocery shopping to mall shopping (it feels kind of silly carrying a Whole Foods bag into Macy’s for buying things, but we do it!!!), to transporting soccer stuff, snacks, food to gatherings, using as a suitcase when they go for a sleepover at grandma’s – you name it we use those! We like having more because we use them SO much that there rarely seems to be a spare around!
What amazing bags!!! I like to re-use glass containers that originally contained something I bought from the store (think olive oil, maple syrup bottles, and mayo jars, etc.) for when I make my homemade sauces, salad dressings, granola, or trail mixes – (we try to avoid plastic containers as much as possible, with the leakage of nasty chemicals and whatnot) – and an added bonus of re-using your glass containers is that you’ll never have a shortage of pretty jars to package your homemade mixes in to give as gifts!

At our house we reuse plastic baggies and grocery bags. We are in the process of trying to become better at reusing and recycling! Thanks for the great giveaway!

The grocery bags that come into the house get used as garbage bags. Not the best but at least they are used twice. My husband brings his lunch in them as well. Sometimes, my kids make clothes out of them. The other one is baby food jars. My husband glues the lid to the bottom side of a shelf and the fills the jar with nails or what ever. It keeps them out of the way and very organized.
Oh ya, shoe boxes make great diaramas.
I love reusable grocery bags, expecially when they get used for other things too.
Awesome ideas! We have started re-consuming lots of things but the coolest one is in gift giving. We go to local thrift stores and antique shops with lots of small wares. We have been doing this long enough that our local spots give us good deals for our re-consuming. For girls gifts, we put together a set of embroidered pillowcases and a hand mirror, or a dress up bundle with a hat, gloves and a hankie. For boys, we find a cool tin and put small toys in it. For adults, primitive ware, glassware or cutlery with some napkins. It’s fun making the finds and they are always different. Recipients are ALWAYS grateful for the unique gift.
My favorite re-usable comes from the grocery store- I ask for a few apple boxes from time to time to use as storage boxes. They’re a perfect size, very sturdy, and have handles and lids!
All these products are fantastic and I would love to win something! I live in Canada and many of the stores here dont even ask if you want paper versus plastic anymore:( But I reuse my plastic (when i get them – normally i use reusable bags now) for garbage bags; I use both sides of my printing paper, and I also reuse yogurt and other small containers with lids for my 2 yr old daughters art projects or simply for scooping and dumping in sand or water!

I reuse jars that food is packaged in to store bulk items (dry rice, etc.) in the pantry…
I love to re-use, too! My latest favorite is letting my 14 month old twins use up our old big and small yogurt containers as stacking, filling, pouring, etc. They have a cupboard all to themselves and over any toy this is what they choose. It will be fun to see this change over time!
Thanks

We reuse gift bags and tissue paper!
One thing that I think a lot of us reuse are plates. Washing and reusing them is earth-friendly. I know I’m tempted to use paper or plastic all the time, but I’m doing my part by going green with our dishes.

We reuse the plastic containers that our food comes in to store leftovers. And the glass jars from spaghetti sauces to hold our used cooking oil before we throw it out.
We save so many of our plastic containers and egg cartons for art projects. Our favorite is using the egg cartons to hold chalk paint on the sidewalk in the back yard. Just about the time my daughter loses interest the paper carton falls apart and it’s ready for the compost.
ps more reusable grocery bags would be awesome as my husband keeps stealing mine to hold “things” and I have no idea where they go!

I use cloth napkins instead of paper towels. We use them at every meal, and I also use them to clean our glass table.
We also reuse glass jelly jars. They are great for toddler size leftovers!
Hmm…with a nineteen month old toddler and a month old infant almost anything and everything that passes through our home is recycled in some way! Salsa jars become my spice jars, diaper boxes are instant toys and fortresses, and the list just goes and goes!
Thanks so much for your wonderful blog!
We actually reuse plastic grocery bags and produce bags to pick up dog “flops” when 2 of our 3 dogs are walked to the park twice a day. Paper bags from Trader Joe’s are used to wrap books that I sell on half.com.
short answer: everything!
long answer with select favorites:
-my old sweaters become baby pants
-cereal boxes become the outside of tiny books
-baby food jars become candle-lanterns
-old sheets become reusable totes
-old blanket becomes inside of new quilt
-old toys become new favorites for a friend
great giveaway, btw!
I use the boxes from all the walmart samples I get. I just turn them inside out and use them to mail things to others.
I’d love to win any of these bags! Now if only I could win a memory too so that I’d actually remember to _use_ the ones I already have!
Things that we re-use….toothbrushes that are past their teeth cleaning days are used for cleaning hard-to-reach places. And dish sponges make their way from pure sink use to counter/floor use to bathroom use as they age (that’s the plan anyway…now I need to come up with some marking system). What else? Our “changing table” is a repurposed dresser from the thrift store. While our friends were spending hundreds of dollars on their baby furniture, we spent $30 plus the pad and some paint and have something just as good, if not better.
Princess Leia´s last blog post…Dum De Dum…
I reuse small cardboard boxes to keep all my stockpile (like toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, etc.) in so they’re not heaped in a big pile.
I reuse the walmart boxes I get from all the samples. I turn them inside out and use them to mail things to others.
Great giveaway! I’ve made a few grocery bags for us. We always reuse plastic or paper bags from the grocery store, or any other store for that matter. I use papertowel/toilet paper rolls to hold extension cords. Yogurt, sour cream containers are reused for leftovers. Old t-shirts are used for dusting, old bath towels go into the garage for washing the cars. I’ve also used old jeans and tops to make purses and pillows!

I reuse old t-shirts and socks. I cut the t-shirts into rags and use them for polishing and then socks either become sock puppets or get stuffed with cat-nip to become a cat toy or they get used as dusters.
I turned one of the big oatmeal containers into a sewing kit – it holds all my thread, scissors, and pin cushion and has a recloseable lid!

I always try and reuse any type of plastic container as well as shoeboxes. The kids are always looking for something to put their latest collection of goodies in and these containers always come in handy. We save in two ways – saving money by reusing and saving the environment!

I try to reuse anything and everything I can. I have turned clean food containers into toys for my daughter. We reuse those pesky plastic bags as garbage bags at home. I have turned t-shirts that don’t fit or have small holes in them into scarves, hats, rings, refashioned shirts. I’m still looking for ways to make the most of what we have. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I wash out the jars from spices, jams, and pasta sauce then use them for storing things from my crafting obsession!

I’ve been using reusable grocery bags now for over a year. Just recently I started to recycle as well. Our transfer station does “one-step” recycling so I just toss it all in to one bag. As time goes by, I am trying to do more & more things that are “green-friendly” simply because I like knowing I can help out in such small ways.
LOVE these bags! We reuse the plastic shopping bags we have for trash bags, lunch bags, toting stuff from place to place, etc. We also reuse printed paper for scratch paper, etc. TFS! Hope I win!
