I love the look on his face when he is presented with something new. He studies it for a moment and then he either scratches at it with his fingernails or brings it to his mouth to explore. If she doesn't have "stuff" to entertain herself with she just makes something up. The quality I love most about my son right now (he's 18 months so he's constantly changing) is his sudden obsession with being read to, and how he slowly backs himself into your lap for a story.
