This giveaway is now closed.

My husband recently reminded me that he likes it when I look like a girl.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I wear combat boots – but I do have the “mom style” going most days.  You know the look – the jeans, t-shirt, and flip flops.  All day, every day.

Since his reminder, I’ve made a point to wear more skirts, which in all honesty, I prefer anyway.  I think they’re cooler than shorts, and much more flattering when they hit the knee at the right spot.  And I’m pretty sure my husband likes them.

I’ve also made more of a point to wear a bit more jewelry, style my hair, and put on a smidge of make-up – even when my day’s agenda only involves being at home.  And you know what?  It really does help a little.  I feel more put together, so I have more energy, and I’m in a better mood.

You already know I love me some Lisa Leonard jewelry.  I wear my “tiny squares” necklace almost daily – they’re adorned with my two children’s names,  And I get compliments on them every time.

tinySquares.jpg
I love her jewelry’s handcrafted look, that she hammers the design just-so, giving each piece its originality.

I love that it’s feminine without being cutesy.

I love that so much of her work honors family.

And I love that one of you will win her latest necklace!

One thing I’d love for Christmas is a digital keychain. It would be great to have photos of my girls to share and to enjoy myself :)

2 Deal Seeking Mom September 16, 2008 at 3:59 pm

A Wii Fit is at the top of my list!

I love these necklaces, but I always wonder if they would look as pretty with five kids on them.

5 Pamela September 16, 2008 at 4:05 pm

Can’t say I have thought about my own Christmas wish list yet…the practical side of me (which is usually the side in charge) says something in the house that would help complete the home remodel that began 4 years ago and stopped after our first child 2 1/2 years ago; the bedroom add-on, finish the kitchen cabinets, baseboards…but I would also love to receive some cute new underwear (to help with the girly/feminine/feel good about myself thing). I realize that having two kids does not mean I should be wearing ‘mom’ underwear ;) , but when there is extra money in the clothing budget there are just too many “practical” things to buy.

I’m hoping for a camera tripod.

7 Vanessa van der Meer September 16, 2008 at 4:07 pm

. . .and of course, a Lisa Leonard Necklace!

9 Julie September 16, 2008 at 4:12 pm

On my wish list? A new iPod. My very old one is getting really, really wonky…

10 Rhonda September 16, 2008 at 4:16 pm

For Christmas, I am easy to please, anything made by my 3 year-old will make me the happiest mommy.

11 Kristi September 16, 2008 at 4:19 pm

The only thing I need for Christmas is my husband to be home from Iraq. I think I could handle the holidays easier if it wasn’t so close to the end of his deployment. He will be home 2 weeks after Christmas if it all goes as planned….but to have him home for Christmas with me and our 14 month old son would mean the world. We don’t have much money to get big gifts anyway and through this deployment I have learned that the only thing we TRULY need is each other.
Thank you!

12 Becca September 16, 2008 at 4:21 pm

27 Rachel September 16, 2008 at 4:50 pm

On my list for this Christmas is the grater attachement for my kitchen aid mixer! Lasagna and pizza would be much easier with this tool!
BTW I just started reading your blog and I am in love with it! The daily docket has given me a jumpstart back to getting my stuff done around here. I have four kids and the youngest is just 2 months and I needed some encouragement to keep going on this mess!

28 Francis September 16, 2008 at 4:55 pm

I had a simple silver necklace on my wish list – I had not seen Lisa’s jewelry before but I love it now! ;-)

29 Hannah September 16, 2008 at 4:57 pm

My Christmas wish list consists of hoping to get a little sleep and that my kids will be satisfied with their presents.

30 megan September 16, 2008 at 4:58 pm

35 Caitlin September 16, 2008 at 5:09 pm

Okay, two things.
1. I want a new president, but it needs to be the one I’m voting for.
2. I want the discipline to implement all the great and achievable steps in the book Spring Cleaning for Normal People. Not that it will take a lot of discipline, but I could use any extra that anyone could send my way.

38 Kelli September 16, 2008 at 5:12 pm

Hmmm… that’s a tough question. You know how when you have to actually list something you want it’s so hard to come up with it, but if I were to just wander around a few stores I’d feel overwhelmed with all of the wants? Yeah, that’s me. :)

I’d have to say I’d love a Nikon D40 and a lense to go with it. I dream of the pictures I could take with it!

I haven’t even thought about what I want for Christmas. I have thought about what to get my husband and daughter but haven’t thought of what I would like myself. All I can think of that I really want is a day to relax!

41 Susanna K. September 16, 2008 at 5:15 pm

I would really like a piece of created gemstone jewelry for Christmas, and I’ve already told my husband so. I just think the science behind created gems is amazing, and the jewelry is pretty spectacular, too.

Oops! I was so excited, I forgot to tell you my Christmas wish…duh! I am like others, wishing for a Wii fit. In fact, we have pretty simple Christmases and are contemplating just getting one big family present–that is Wii. It is a one size fits all sort of thing since I have kids ranging from 6-19. The major hold back is that hubby is hesitant cause he hates video games. That, and the expense…yikes!
