I am beyond thrilled to (finally) announce a little project I’ve been working on behind the scenes for the past six months. I’m pulling back the curtain to reveal to you — Simple Living Media.

This is a company I formed earlier this year, but with my book writing, I’ve waited to finalize all its tweaks until my manuscript was turned into the publisher.

So today, I’ll spare you most of the details, but I do want to welcome you to the most exciting part. We’ve given birth to three new blogs!

Simple Living Media (SLM) is now a family of five blogs, all with one purpose — to help people live simply. Each represents a unique topic related to simple living, but together, we’re united to bring you tips and tools to simplify your life, all while we learn alongside you.

You already know Simple Mom and Simple Kids. Here are the three newest sites, and the writers who are bringing to you their wisdom:

1. Simple Bites

Simple Bites is a family-oriented community dedicated to all things food and drink. We believe in the importance of bringing the whole family together around the table on a daily basis. At Bites, we take the word simple seriously by offering comprehensive recipes, practical meal plans, and tried and true cooking tips. Our desire is to enable you to prepare real, nourishing food and foster a desire to eat seasonally and locally.

Subscribe to Simple Bites to find practical cooking tips, nourishing recipes, and an encouraging perspective to help the everyday parent provide great food for the family. We’re a group of writers passionate about food, and we want to help you provide the best for your family.

You’ll recognize Under the Highchair‘s Aimée Wimbush-Bourque, the new editor of Bites, as the former food contributor here at Simple Mom. You’ll continue to find her great cooking tips, recipes, and advice at this new site, along with the talents of six other fabulous foodies, each eager to share with you their great ideas.

2. Simple Homeschool

Homeschooling is not the answer to every educational problem. But it does allow families who pursue this method for their children to live intentionally—to focus on each child’s strengths, to help with weaknesses, and to nurture family relationships.

Simple Homeschool is here to help navigate the educational waters. Our writers come from a variety of backgrounds and experience, but we have one common goal: we want the best for our children.

I’m guessing you do, too. Whether you’re considering homeschooling, just getting started, or a veteran, at Simple Homeschool you’ll find tips, tools, and techniques to teach your children with confidence. Subscribe to the site to regularly graft ideas, methods, and philosophies from wise parents who can help guide you on your homeschooling journey.

Jamie Martin, author of Steady Days and blogger at Steady Mom, is Homeschool’s new editor, and I cannot think of a better woman to head up the crew. And I am in awe at the seven women ready to share their ideas with you.

3. Simple Organic

And finally, we bring you Simple Organic, a blog about sustainable and healthy living for mainstream people. We’ll cover green tips and trends, provide tutorials on repurposing items you already own, frugal crafts that celebrate nature and responsible living, and ways to improve your health and lifestyle with natural remedies.

This is a positive, family-friendly place geared to the average home manager interested in “greenifying” their home and lifestyle. We have no interest in piling on the guilt or preaching a hermit lifestyle.

We want to highlight the growing handmade trend.

We want to provide you with tips and tools that make it easier to be an environmentally-responsible steward.

We want to help you pursue whole-body wellness through natural and healthy means.

Mostly, we want to show that being eco-wise really is family-friendly and simple.
Subscribe to Simple Organic to be inspired in your goal towards simplicity and sustainability. Don’t be intimidated — be inspired! Organic will be your catalyst as you pursue a greener life.

Katie Fox is our new editor of Simple Organic, and she brings to us a wealth of wisdom in her pursuit of whole and natural living. She is joined by five other fabulous women, all passionate about living as naturally as possible. You’ll be inspired.

Simple Kids

In its second year, Simple Kids is growing as a collaboration of parents eager to join you in a discussion about raising our children simply.

Parenthood doesn’t have to be complicated, despite what today’s culture sells us. If you haven’t yet, subscribe to Simple Kids, and find your needed nuggets of inspiration under the guidance of Kids’ newest editor, Kara Fleck of Rockin’ Granola.

SLM has truly become my baby over the past few months of behind-the-scenes preparation, so I hope you’re as excited as I am. Please subscribe to the sites, give us your feedback, and let us know how we can help you live more simply. We hope to be your go-to source of inspiration to eliminate the unnecessary in your life, so that the truly necessary may speak.

That, after all, is the essence of simple living.

To celebrate the birth of our family, we’re giving you, our readers, a treat. Starting tomorrow, all five SLM blogs will have huge giveaways that you will not want to miss. Our sponsors want to bless SLM readers, so get ready to be excited and spread the news!

What types of things would you like to learn from one of these new blogs? How can we serve you in your journey towards simpler living?

Thanks, everyone! And it sounds cheesy, but it’s true — it’s really because of you, the reader, that this is possible. You guys make SLM what it is, being such loyal, talkative readers. Thanks for your involvement!
