Inkubook Winners!

in giveaways

The five Simple Mom readers who’ve won an Inkubook photo book of any style and size are:

  • Kim, who’s reading The Creative Family by Amanda Soule
  • DeeAnna, who’s reading Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks
  • Julie Weaver, who’s reading Harry Potter in French (impressive!)
  • Kealoha Kagawa, who’s reading Louder Than Words by Jenny McCarthy, and
  • Nikki, who’s “reading blogs – nothing else” (I understand completely)

Congrats!  Be looking for an email from me soon.  And everyone else, don’t forget you have until November 30 to create your own free digital scrapbook.  When you use the code PBK266, all you have to pay for is shipping.  When you create your account, use the “invite others” feature to have others create an Inkubook account, and they’ll get a promotion code for a free book, too.

Check back here tomorrow, where I’m reviewing quite a few of the same thing, each from different companies.  And several of you will get a chance to win some!  They’re eco-fabulous.

Just so you know you can not use the code unless you get at least one friend to sign up.

Right – that’s what they mean with the “invite others” feature. :)

I have to say that I am not impressed with their customer service. I wasn’t able to invite others, therefore not able to pay for the shipping for the book I spent HOURS making, and when I wrote them a polite letter of complaint last week, I heard NOTHING back from them. Not great, in my opinion, and I won’t be going back to their website.

I tried to do the Inkubook thing but it doesn’t work with Mac. :(

I’d have loved a free book though!

Hi Amy,

I work for the company that represents Inkubook and I was so sorry to hear you couldn’t get the site to work on your Mac. I know that there are issues with certain Mac users but basically any Intel Mac running Firefox or Safari should work with Inkubook. Where we have problems are with PowerPC Macs because Microsoft Silverlight doesn’t work with them at all.

I also pulled some information from Inkubook’s FAQ page:
3. Why won’t Inkubook work on my Mac?

PowerPC Macs do not play well with Microsoft Silverlight, and until Microsoft creates a version of Silverlight that does work on a PowerPC, there’s not much that we can do to help you aside from suggesting that you try to use Inkubook on an Intel Mac or on a PC.

If you have an Intel PC and it appears that Silverlight won’t install properly for you and that it’s not supported, we suggest that you check to see if your browser has been set to run in PPC emulation mode. You can check here to get instructions on how to see if PPC emulation mode is on and how to turn it off.

Let me know if any of this information helps you out at all. Thanks!

Laura

I am currently working on creating my first photo scrapbook ever on Inkubook, thanks to hearing about it from Simple Mom. However, I wasn’t able to find the “free book offer through November 30″ that was noted by Simple Mom. Was that a mistake or is there a code?

Thanks in advance,
Christa

Sooooo cool! Thanks for the code. I made the ABC’s book for my kids for Christmas. I am sending it media mail, and it cost me $4.99 total. :o ) As far as referring someone, I set up a gmail account a while back. I just used my own account and signed up under that e-mail. It worked like a charm!

Love your idea Gayle!! Very nice! I think I will be doing the same thing. :D What book is free? Does it have to be a specific size or quantity of pages?? I’m going to start making one and I don’t want to put a bunch of work into one that won’t end up being free!

I second Claire’s questions – is there a specific size, cover, quantity of pages that will qualify for the free book? I would to make one but thought the directions were a little vague! Thanks for sharing this great code!

Is there a simular website for pcs – I really love inkubooks photobooks but don’t have a Mac. Thanks!

Hi Debbie – Inkubook works with both PCs and Intel-based Macs with the Firefox browser.

Thanks,
Jim

Just wanted to make everyone here aware: BEWARE of Inkubook’s crappy customer service! Try to ask for a refund for an item you DID NOT RECEIVE – forget it!!!
I sent them a letter via email asking for a refund & all I got was another coupon (and a rather rude response from someone named Craig Price). So they want me to spend more money on top of the $60 they just took from me??? I’m going to delete my account and I will NOT be using this again!
