This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Kati – congratulations!

The second giveaway is from Fill In The Blankie. You’ll feel cozy just perusing this website – my son recently received an embroidered blanket from them, and it is amazingly soft.

This company makes giving a baby blanket so much more than a standby shower gift – you can customize any variety of blanket with any statement in a whole variety of fonts and colors. You can be as creative or as classic as you want – customize the blanket with the baby’s name and birth date, or share one of your favorite quotes around the edge of the blanket.
All the blanket fabrics are velvety soft – you can choose anything from cable knit to Portuguese sateen. The blankets are delivered tied in a gorgeous satin bow, making it an ideal baby gift.

One Simple Mom reader will win a completely customized baby blanket from Fill In The Blankie – you can choose everything from the fabric type, to the color, to the fonts, to the wording. This gift is valued between $39 and $109, depending on your choice of blanket.
Here’s How To Win:
1. Leave a comment on this post, answering this question – When you were a child, how big a family did you want when you grew up?
2. To get a second entry – and a second entry on all the giveaways this week – subscribe to the Simple Mom feed and email me the movie quote at the bottom of any post in your feed reader or email inbox (there is only one quote for all the giveaways). Send it to simplemomblog (at) gmail (dot) com, and put the quote directly in the subject line. The body of the email won’t be read. And you only need to email me the quote once in order to get a second entry for all the week’s giveaways.
3. Finally, to get a third entry, post or tweet about this giveaway – if you use the URL of this post, I’ll receive it – no need to email me.
This giveaway will end this Saturday, January 31 at noon EST. I hope you win!

Four kids!

I was (am) an only child so I always wanted a BIG family. We have two kids now and although I like the idea of more kids and a big family, I dont know that I can handle that.

I always wanted just 2 kids, but now that I have my two, I’d love to have one more.
I think I wanted about four–two boys and two girls. But now, why not seven? Or eight? Or. . .?
I wanted three – still do, come to think of it!

I actually never wanted kids, even after I got married. About 4 years into our marriage I started having visions of kids. It took some convincing my husband, but we have 2, a daughter and son. I thought for sure we would have three because we are both one of three kids, but after our colicky son, we decided two was just about perfect!

I wanted a family of 5. Mom Dad 2 girls & a boy.
Now I have a beautiful & smart 3 yr old boy. I have so much fun with him, I don’t knwo if my family will grow any bigger, but I’m greatful for what I am blessed with.
As a child, I said I wanted 20. As a wife before kids, I said I wanted 4. God had different plans and we’re very happy with the 2 He blessed us with!
I didn’t really want kids when I was growing up, but changed my mind when I got older and now I think two is a good number – that way the kids don’t outnumber the parents! Thanks for the giveaway!
I honestly do not remember thinking in terms of how many children I wanted. I just knew that I wanted to be a wife and mommy.

I have to be honest: I really didn’t get along with my brothers, so when I was a child I didn’t want any children at all (well, maybe maybe maybe just one). Of course, that’s all different now after the arrival of #1
I never really thought about it. My parents got divorced. I think I was thinking more about getting married and never getting divorced. (We are working on 20 years! and 3 boys-15, 12, & 6!)
A husband, a big dog, a fenced in yard, and one perfect child.
When I was little I remember wanting to have 2 kids. A girl and a boy, so that the mommy and the daddy had someone to play with. Then I remember when I was a little older and my parents had my youngest brother, not wanted to have any kids at all. I didn’t want to have to hear a baby crying or have to change stinky diapers.
Thanks for the giveaway.
I always thought I would grow up, get married and have 8 kids.
That was before I actually experienced labor. Now it is down to wanting 4 kids.

When I was little I wanted twins. My little persons mind thought it would be sweet for there to be a baby each for mama and papa!
I wanted 3 children when I dreamed about my future. Now, with a two year old, I am hoping for another.
I always dreamed of having three of four children. With a 17 month old and (we just found out) one on the way, my dreams seem to be coming true.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Growing up I wanted 5 kids. I liked the idea of always being surrounded by lots of people I loved. I also thought it would be great to have all my kids and grandkids visit for holidays – such fun chaos!
When I was a kid… I always wanted 6 of my own kids, and 6 that were adopted. After 3 I couldn’t have anymore due to medical issues. Financially I can’t afford to adopt 6…but would love too! I have always liked big families, cause I was an only child, and found it so lonely. Awesome giveaway thanks!

I wanted to have three children and still hope to one day!!
My mom had 12 siblings – 13 kids in her family! I grew up with a crazy amount of first cousins and loved every bit of it. I always thought it would be terribly sad if my children didn’t get to experience that…we have two (2 kids under 2 in three years of marriage) so who knows…
We may just be well on our way! Really, and in all seriousness, I’m not sure how many we might have but I will say I’m hoping for more!
Sad but true. I dind’t want a white picket fence and husnabd and kids. My mom raised my sister and I alone and I just thought it looked way to hard. I was going to work and travel.
God had much bigger plans for me!
Mama of 2 boys and a baby girl due next month.
Blessings

These blankets are amazing.
When I was a child, I wanted one boy and one girl, in that order. Actually, that’s exactly what I have and they are perfect. But now I find myself wanting a much larger family. My husband has agreed to number 3, so we’ll have to see how big we grow!
Growing up in a big family I thought I always wanted something similiar. Now I’m loving my two and I think we’ll take it one step at a time.
I didn’t want any kids, now i have 3.
I wanted three sets of twins! What was I thinking? I can barely handle one little fellow. =)
We had three kids in our family, and since I was unhappy about having a little brother, I always said I would have only two kids!
I would love to win this blanket to give to a friend of mine with a new baby. I think they’re beautiful!

I always wanted 2 – a boy and a girl because that’s what my family is. But sometime I thought it would be cool to have more people around to help with the chores.
one boy, one girl, 2 parents-but I did go through a long time without wanting any kids…then I hit 30, then it took us 5 years to get my princess…so, one girl may be enough! thanks

I am an only child so I always thought I wanted a big family (7 kids +) when I grew up. But, now that I’ve had my 1st, I see that I might have to reconsider!
The size changed from time to time, but most importantly- I wanted a family that was close to one another. I grew up with four siblings and think that is a pretty good start.
I was an only child so i always wanted at least one or two more to play with. Now that i am expecting my first in July, we are starting at round 1!
I always wanted 3 or 4 babies. I played with dolls till I was almost 12!
I’m now in favor of 2. Dolls were a lot easier needless to say : )
I wanted a big family, because I am an only child. I wanted to have at least 4 kids…maybe more. Now, that has changed, since I have twin girls…I think I am done! But, oh do I loving having 2 little girls the same age.
Melissa
I never thought of myself as a Mom when I was little. So I didn’t want any kids! Thank goodness I wised up!
I wanted three children. I have two.
I always wanted at least five, but now that I am a mom, I have fallen further in love with my role in life. We have 5 and another on the way and would love to have more. We have 3 boys and 3 girls!

When I was a little girl, I wanted to have 4 girls because I grew up in a family of 4 girls. Then I went through a stage where I wanted only boys because girls bring so much drama with them. Then, as an adult I decided the most important thing was to have a boy first. And I did. He’s 16 months old and a delight every day! We’ll see what the Lord has in store for us next…

I wanted five kids. =) I grew up in a semi-large family (7 children) and I loved it.
When I was a child, I wanted the largest family I could have. I grew up with lots of cousins, and I LOVED being around them as much as possible!! BUT, after my first child was born…I began contemplating only one!
I now have 2 kids and although I still do think having a larger family would be fun for them and the future, I’m not sure my SANITY could handle it! ;D
When I was growing up I always wanted 3 children…I ended up with one and he is grown and such a blessing….semtaylor(at)yahoo(dot)com
I have always wanted 4 kids, didn’t matter if they were boys or girls, at least 2 of my own and then the other 2 could be mine or adopted didn’t matter. I just had baby #1 a darling, 3 month old boy… so we are on our way to our family of 6.
I always wanted to have one boy and one girl when I was growing .
I always wanted 3 kids. I was sure I was going to have twin boys and a girl. My grandmother had twins and everyone used to always tell me it skips a generation and that I was going to have twins. So far I have 1 girl. We’ll see what the next go-round brings me!!
My husband still cringes (and accuses me of still wanting this) whe he thinks of it, but up through college, I said that I wanted 6 kids – I had to do better than my mom who had 4, and it had to be an even number so that there wasn’t a “middle child.”
Sometime post-college, but pre-marriage, that changed to “as many as God wants to give me.” I’m still letting God convince hubs that that number is greater than 2!

When I was a little girl I always wanted to have three girls just like my mom. Now I have two perfect twin boys and I couldn’t imagine anything else, except maybe one more baby in a year or two!
I grew up with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. So, most of the time, I wanted to have none, because it was so hard to share with all of them. Some times, I wanted to have 5-6 of my own, because my siblings are my bestest friends to this day.
I wanted to have lots of kids, but after having two, and learning about how much work is really involved, I am happy with the two!
Four kids…… two down, two to go.
When I was little I alawys wanted a BIG family. All of my relatives lived in Greece so for the holiday is was just me, my parents and brother….. I wanted 2-3 kids of my own but have lots of cousins close by.
Growing up, I wanted to have 8 kids, that way the house would never be boring…. I look back know and think… good thing I wised up. I couldn’t handle 8 kids.
I thought I wanted five kids. Unfortunately now, it looks like it will be three or four.
i have always wanted three or four children…we’ve got one as of now, so we’ll see how far we get!

I wanted 3 kids but now that I have one very active 2 year old son I will be happy with just one one or possibly two (if my husband can talk me into it)
.
I wanted a lot of children when I was little. That is all I wanted to be when I grew up was a wife and mom. We only have a baby boy at the moment, but plan to have several more.
I’m one of ten, and growing up I always thought I’d have a big family. My husband’s one of two, so we’re taking it one kid at a time. We’ve got two and a third on the way, maybe we’ll stop there or maybe we’ll have more…
