Create a Unique Baby Gift with Fill In The Blankie

This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Kati – congratulations!

The second giveaway is from Fill In The Blankie.  You’ll feel cozy just perusing this website – my son recently received an embroidered blanket from them, and it is amazingly soft.

This company makes giving a baby blanket so much more than a standby shower gift – you can customize any variety of blanket with any statement in a whole variety of fonts and colors.  You can be as creative or as classic as you want – customize the blanket with the baby’s name and birth date, or share one of your favorite quotes around the edge of the blanket.

All the blanket fabrics are velvety soft – you can choose anything from cable knit to Portuguese sateen.  The blankets are delivered tied in a gorgeous satin bow, making it an ideal baby gift.

One Simple Mom reader will win a completely customized baby blanket from Fill In The Blankie – you can choose everything from the fabric type, to the color, to the fonts, to the wording.  This gift is valued between $39 and $109, depending on your choice of blanket.

Here’s How To Win:

1. Leave a comment on this post, answering this question – When you were a child, how big a family did you want when you grew up?

2. To get a second entry – and a second entry on all the giveaways this week – subscribe to the Simple Mom feed and email me the movie quote at the bottom of any post in your feed reader or email inbox (there is only one quote for all the giveaways). Send it to simplemomblog (at) gmail (dot) com, and put the quote directly in the subject line. The body of the email won’t be read.  And you only need to email me the quote once in order to get a second entry for all the week’s giveaways.

3. Finally, to get a third entry, post or tweet about this giveaway – if you use the URL of this post, I’ll receive it – no need to email me.

This giveaway will end this Saturday, January 31 at noon EST. I hope you win!

this is an easy one for me – when I was a little girl I wanted to have 3 little girls all 18 months to 2 years apart. I thought it would be just perfect to have 3 girls. Of course my first (and only at the moment) is a little boy but I wouldn’t trade him for anything!

  2. avatar Gaitha says:

I wanted 3 or 4 kids, all boys…haha…and my first and only is currently a girl:) I dont have a clue what I would do with a boy at this point, I love my girl!

There were 5 kids in my family and I always liked having a lot of people around. I always thought I’d have a big family, like 4 kids, but I never thought about what my future husband might want :) He just has one sibling and is happy with that. So, seeing as we have 2 kids already, I’m hoping we can compromise at 3.

  9. avatar Laura says:

When I was a kid I wanted 3 kids…same as now. Love your website!

  10. avatar Kel says:

  11. avatar Kimberly says:

When I was growing up (literally, until and into college) I wanted nine kids.

Not just nine, though. I wanted to have twins, quadruplets and triplets. I had names picked out and everything. Oh, and I wanted to have them a year apart for each set, so that could have 9 kids under 3 years of age.

Now, I’m thinking two or three sounds JUST fine…

  28. avatar JulieD says:

I grew up as the oldest of three, with my brother being the typical “middle child” — I figured, either two kids or three. Then, when I got older, I read a book on birth order and realized that these things are more complicated, so now I’m at the point where I figure I’ll just leave it up to God and fate! One funny thing when I was growing up, I was so excited when my mom told me I was going to have a brother soon. Then when he was born, I was SO MAD because I had wanted a big brother! :)

  29. avatar Erin says:

I always wanted two kids because I grew up with a sister and loved it. That’s what I have now: 2 amazing little girls. We’re planning on it staying that way, but you never know what curve balls God might throw at us and “our” plan!

  30. avatar Kim says:

Four – I remember my mom telling me to try and have an even number of kids, that way there will be someone to play with. She had two sisters and was always the “odd one out”.

  31. avatar Cindy says:

I have always hoped for 3-4 kids. I am ready to stop at 3 because of my age, but I feel so blessed that my dreams have come true!

  64. avatar Alice says:

I never thought about it much as a child, but I always assumed I’d have two kids — one boy and one girl (as if I had a choice). That’s what my childhood family consisted of, so I guess I wasn’t much for thinking outside the box!

  65. avatar Susan S. says:

Being the baby in a family of four kids I have always wanted four. I also like the idea of an even number – you know for the trips to the amusement park, etc. Unfortunately, my husband coming from a family of two wants only two. I have tried to compromise and say three, but he isn’t willing to budge. We have a 20 month old daughter right now. He has said that if the next one (number two) is as good as the first one I might be able to convince him to have number 3. Any arguments that I can use to convince him?
