It’s probably no surprise to you that I’m a minimalist. I shudder at clutter, and I much prefer having one high-quality item than several mediocre versions of something similar. My idea of a heavenly wardrobe is 10 pieces that fit me perfectly and won’t ever wear out.
So when Epson wanted me to give their latest printer a whirl, I thought sure, it might be nice to have one gadget that does a lot of things well. And while I’m not much of a gadget fiend, my husband is, so he was more than a little excited to try it out. Let’s just say that it didn’t take me long to truly appreciate the gift I’d been given.

I’m impressed with the thing. It’s cool. And because it does so much so quickly, it really does make life at home simpler and more productive.
Here’s why I love the Epson Artisan 800 printer:
1. The high-definition photo-quality is outstanding.
We’ll never have to order photos with an outside source again. I can even edit our photos from the printer – eliminate the red-eye, restore old photos, add text, and more. The plus side for me is that now I actually get around to developing photos, instead of just burning them straight to a disc, probably never to be seen again. (And since we’re currently staying with my parents while we’re stateside for a few months, it’s satisfying the never-ceasing grandparent’s thirst for photos.)
Oh, and it prints photos quickly – we’re talking 10 seconds. So if you think you might order (or still win!) your Christmas photo cards from Chickpea Designs, you can print them at home as high-definition photos.
2. It’s wi-fi.
Yep, I never have to connect my laptop and mess with a tangle of cords. This keeps my workspace cleaner, more organized, and more functional. And because it’s wi-fi, anyone who brings their laptop to your home can easily print without having to connect (which yes, means you should password-protect your internet connection so that your neighbors don’t start randomly printing their family photos – wouldn’t that be weird?).

3. It’s pretty.
The LCD keypad is sleek and easy to use, and the printer is unobtrusive, so I don’t mind having it out on display. A big deal for me.

4. It does lots of things.
It scans, it copies, it faxes, it prints double-sided, it creates coloring book pages, it prints ruled and graph paper for school, it prints directly onto CDs and DVDs, it brings you coffee in the morning. Okay, not the coffee, but everything else. And I have this suspicion that it does even more than I’m aware of. We’ll see.
5. One of you will win one. Seriously.

Epson and One2One Network is graciously giving one Simple Mom reader the new Artisan 800 printer. Are you as excited as I am? I wasn’t lying when I said November is a big month of giveaways over here!
Here’s how to win:
1. Leave a comment on this post, answering this question: What gadget can’t you live without?
2. For a second entry, email me at simplemomblog (at) gmail (dot) com with the secret code in the email’s subject line (no need to write anything in the email’s body, as it won’t be read). To find the secret code, make sure you’ve subscribed to Simple Mom’s feed either via RSS or via email, and look in the footer of any post. I promise you – the code is there.
3. For a third entry, mention this giveaway on your blog, and make sure I somehow find out about it.
This giveaway will end on Wednesday, November 12, midnight CST.
I hope you win!

the gadget i can’t live without is my digital camera – with a 6 month old boy it is constantly out taking in his latest developments
My favorite gadget is my wireless radio, it lets me listen to radio stations in the US while we are abroad.
This is a great question- as we are about to go on an extended vacation. I’m gonna have to say my ipod. I have music, podcasts, movies and photo’s stored on mine- the perfect toy to occupy me during layovers.
Definately my printer/scanner. After getting Vista my old scanner doesn’t work with vista so I’ve missed it like crazy.

my digital camera – i hope my memory holds out for another 50 or 60 years, but just in case i like to have our family life recorded for the future. Even now i love looking at out photos and videos with the kids and seeing how much they have grown.
thanks for a chance to win such a great prize!
I can’t live without my HP all-in-one, but it is starting to die!
Hands down — camera.

The terabyte external hard drive, with it’s matching back-up friend named “Just in case.”
It (they) hold all our photos, important papers, and copies of the last draft of my dissertation for when I accidentally delete the current one. They evacuate easily, reduce worry, and bring up important information that can otherwise be forgotten in stressful moments (we live in New Orleans, so this is an important point). And there are two identical machines, just in case one gets sick. Just in case.
We know well that all other gadgets… the computer, the camera, the car, the Ipod… can be replaced. But the storage devices? Can’t live without ‘em.

I can’t live without my laptop.
Can’t live without my digital camera. So easy to use, I take more and better quality pics than in the past.
For me it’s my computer in general. This is where I get all my news, I get my entertainment from, it stores all my documents and photos, it plays my music/radio.
I have a photo printer that I’ve had for about 4 years. I don’t use it because it’s cheaper just to have an online printer or take them to an hour photo place and print them, plus the professional printing equipment makes photos look better than most consumer gear anyway. Though scan/Copy/Fax would be really useful.
My favorite tech gadget is definitely my cell phone! It’s not the fanciest out there but it lets me be available to my friends and my family when they need to reach me immediately!

My digital camera. That way I can take a thousand pictures for our Christmas picture and at least one will come out good!
What gadget can’t I live without? It’s a 2 way tie – my Mac laptop & my digital camera. I would be absolutely LOST without either one of them.

Our video camera- JVC Everio. I use it to make short DVDs to show family across the country our growing 7 month old baby! His grandparents go nuts whenever a new DVD surprises them in the mail.
Oh my this is GREAT! And to be honest, the gadget I couldn’t live without IS my printer. I work from home and I have to print out reports, invoices, statements, etc. I also copy things and scan things and print pictures. So, this little gadget is RIGHT up my alley. And I was recently begging hubby to make my world completely wi-fi since I’m such a freak about clutter and cords and stuff. What a great deal!

I couldn’t live without my digital camera. Its old and doesn’t take the best pictures, but at least we will have something to show our 2 boys when they get older!

This is an AMAZING giveaway!! Wow. I cannot live without my laptop. It’s my lifeline!
I can’t live without my laptop. I wasn’t sure how much I would use it, and I have become addicted!
I can’t live without my Ipod Touch. Yes, it’s just a toy but it’s my lifeline – all my contacts, to do lists, everything is on there so I don’t have to worry if I’m going to remember things.
My favorite Baby Gadget is by far my Phil and Ted stroller. If I had had this stroller when my oldest was born I would have never purchased the other TWELVE strollers!! Now isn’t that being a simple Mom…one stroller does jogging, mall, single and double. LOVE IT! Greatest Mommy invention ever.
I absolutely can not live without my camera- my son will be 3 in January and we have over 10,000 pictures- thank God for the Mac & iphoto!!!!
I cannot live without my digital camera. It’s a Canon, simple to use but takes professional quality pics… I love it! I have thousands of pictures of my daughter (now if only I was more organized about printing them out and putting them in albums!!)
I absolutely cannot live without my front door keypad entry system. I have two kids (one is a very squirmy toddler) and it is so wonderful that I don’t have to get my keys out and fumble with them at my front door. Instead I just use one finger to type in my code at the front door and voila!!! Open door without the stress of getting out my keys!!
For that matter, my car’s keyless entry that I had installed this summer is just as much as a must have, too. No more fumbling for keys to get in the car either.
Love ‘em!!

My gadget would have to be my phone/PDA – a Cingular 8125. I store just about everything on this, take notes, send e-mails, make calls, etc. Not sure if anything else even comes close. I get a little disoriented if I don’t know what’s going on next because I’ve left it at home.
I can’t live without my digital camera. I used to think I couldn’t live without my iPod, but when my teenage son got his iPod wet and ruined it, I handed over mine. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. (Mine was given to me by my daughter when she got a free one with her Mac purchase. Since she already had one she gave it to her mama. Isn’t that sweet? I decided to share the love with my iPod addicted son. ) BUT in no way could I go even a day without my camera!!!
The gadget I NEED is my cell phone (work, keeping in touch w/ family) but the gadget I LOVE is my laptop. Photos, internet, files, all right there. Now if only I had a good printer….
it’s a toss up between my camera and laptop. I guess I would have to say laptop that I can blog and store my photos on as well.

Hands down…..my iPod. I am a total podcast addict. Current fave podcast is NPR’s Planet Money.
It’s just my computer. I’m not a huge gadget girl, as I don’t feel very frugal when I spend a lot of money on something and it quits working (or I can’t figure out how to use it!).

My iPod. I can’t believe how much I love that little thing (the Shuffle).
My digital camera is old and not the greatest so I will probably have to say my cell phone. We live in Upstate NY and get lots of snow so it’s always nice to have the reassurance of a cell phone when travelin gin the winter.
Favorite gadget would have to be the digital camera. Sorry rolls of 200 film. I do not miss you. Sorry one-hour photo envelopes. I do not miss you either. This printer looks amazing. Thanks for the great giveaway. This is more like it.

While at times I find them extremely annoying, the gadget I can’t live without is my cell phone. I can call home to tell them I am running late, my car broke down and I need help, or find out if we need something from the store. I don’t have to worry about being stranded, or my family being unable to reach me when they need me. It gives me peace of mind.

The one gadget I couldn’t live without is my digital camera. With two little ones, it is with me every moment of every day…or so it seems. The other gadget I use most often is my Zune. Wow, that’s a tough one! While I own a laptop, ipod, and digital camera and use them all the time, I feel like I could live without any or all of them – they certainly aren’t at the center of my life. But, if you took my desktop computer too, I’d be lost! It’s not new or pretty, but it’s a workhorse and gets the job done.
It would have to be the computer. I have lots of techie items, but they would all be virtually useless without the computer.
So this is a tough question for me. I use my iphone the most, but couldn’t do without my DSLR–and I have to have my computer in order to do anything with the pictures! So it looks like I’m deeply mired in technology, yikes.
This printer looks awesome….I’ve got my fingers crossed!

The gadget I appreciate most is my digital camera. My house growing up had stacks and stacks of shoeboxes of photos, good and bad. Having everything digital now allows me to take an abundance of photos, get those fantastic shots, ditch the do-overs, and most important — keep them easily organized and backed up. Thank goodness for technology!
I can’t live without my laptop and cellphone (with Jott). Now if I had a blackberry or other smartphone, I’d really be smokin’!!

Thanks!

I would have to say my camera; with 2 children it gets used an awful lot!
How awesome is that printer!
The gadget I can’t live without is my Blackberry. I resisted getting one for a long time, afraid that I would not want to be getting my work emails when I was away from the office. But I actually find it to be a stress-reliever – if my morning is hectic (and with a toddler and a pre-schooler, when is it ever not hectic?) I can check in on my email to see if anything is urgent and it is not so obvious that I am running late! Also great for keeping the many lists that I was other wise leaving in various notebooks scattered all over the place.
My can’t live without gadget has to be my flash drive. Currently I am leading a Girl Scout troop, going to school full time, working with the PTA of two schools and thankfully taking winter break from coaching my youngest son’s t-ball team. I have a very bad habit of leaving my laptop at home, so with my flash drive I have everything I could potentially need. I also keep all my pictures saved on it, as well as my external hard drive, so if my MIL wants to print out any of them, it take just a second.
I have to agree with several other posters and say my camera. I have dreams of getting an SLR someday…

My favorite gadget technically isn’t mine–it’s the huge, gorgeous Canon color copier at my office–my favorite parts: 1.) the scanner, so I can save documents online instead of filing endless papers; 2.) I would have to say my iPod Touch. It does everything. Music, photos, internet. I have my too do list, shopping list, I track my calories. There’s an address book, a calculator, a news program. I can download tv shows and watch them while I work out. I seriously love this thing. I should be their spokesperson.
There are actually 2 gadgets I can’t live without…my camera and my crockpot!
My cell phone is pretty much the only gadget I’d replace immediately if lost or stolen, followed very closely by my MP3 player and digital camera. That printer looks pretty freaking cool too. We have some behemoth HP thing that is a nightmare … and wired besides.
There are a lot of helpful gadgets out there, but I really would have a hard time functioning without my computer. Does a computer count as a gadget?

I have to go with the ever popular digital camera. T o think I resisted getting one at first! I was pretty much forced into using one when my 35 mm camera broke and my husband got me a digital one as a gift. My initial hesitaton quickly faded away. I love having an unlimited amount of “film” available to take pictures of my three darling little boys (oh and the rest of the family too
. I love being able to see the picture instantly. I love not having to print out every picture I take unless I want to–no more clutter or disorganized/undated photos. I love being able to send a photo to my mom right away via e-mail. Digital cameras are a photo loving mom’s dream come true.

Id say the one I love the most is Skype because it lets me talk to and SEE my two kids living overseas, but in reality, without the old desk computer, there would be no skype would there? then Id say the blog world is my next favorite, but again, without my trusty HP, there would be no blogs…hmmmmm I guess it’s my little gray friend the computer. arggh.
Oh, my gosh, my camera. It has become a part of me, like my wedding band… I feel naked without it.
i couldn’t live without my cell phone. boring and simple but true
kate’s last blog post…VOTE – only 2 1/2 days away
Easy. I cannot live without my TiVo. Best thing ever.
I couldn’t live without my MP3 player…at the time I was too cheap to buy an IPod. For the money, my MP3 is soooo great to have. I only planned on using it for a road trip to Florida 2 years ago, but since then I use it constantly. When doing housework, exercising, working in the garden, ALL the time!!!
I’m a gadget girl… so hard to choose just one.
But I think it would have to be my Nikon digital camera. I love that thing!

Jennifer’s last blog post…Have I told you how wonderful she is?
The gadget that I can’t live without is my laptop. It was a Mother’s Day present and I think I’m addicted to the thing. I LOVE being portable, and now I can read Simple Mom all day long! (if only you’d post hourly so I’d have something new to read).
The gadget I use the most daily is probably my cell phone. But I also love our laptop and the HD DVR I got my husband for his birthday. I didn’t think HD would be that big of a difference, but he’s converted me!
I don’t have a particular gadget, but after we lost our electricity for 5 days in Sept. I truly missed my stove! And my sons did too! Grills are wonderful but not for cooking everything on it.
One thing I have really grown to love recently is my Google calendar through gmail! It is soooo nice and I love the ability to organize things by color!
What can I not live without? My immersion blender…seriously! When I had my oldest son, I decided I was going to make my own baby food. When Ben was born with Down Syndrome, I didn’t know that his muscle tone would make it difficult for him to eat…I pureed everything in sight for two years until he really started to take off on table food. It saved us a ton of money, and made dinner time a lot easier…I just popped out the hand-held stick blender and whirred up whatever we ate. When my second son was born, six more months of blending followed. We would have spent a fortune in baby food were it not for my little electric baby. Best. Invention. Ever. Hands down.

I can’t live without my sirius satellite radio. It distracts and entertains me on long commutes around the beltway.
Thanks for the opportunity to win. My husband is just starting a small business as an independent photographer and this printer would really help him get off the ground.

I’m not sure how I’d live without my microwave. I use it several times every day, and it sure speeds things up!

I cannot live without my DSLR. As a burgeoning photographer, I need to have it by my side. You NEVER know when a shot of a lifetime will present itself.
That looks like an AMAZING printer. I am hoping to sell photos on etsy soon, and it looks like it would be perfect to print photos here rather than having someone else do it. Wonderful!
Also, I must say that I love clean look of your blog. This is something that I was going for, but couldn’t really find what I liked. I think I might have something built for me.

my iphone is pretty much my brain. sad, but very true.
Oh, we could not survive without the digital camera.
Fox’s Momma’s last blog post…What a week!
The gadget I could not live without is my laptop. It is my connection to the rest of the world. I live on an island, eight miles “out to sea”, with limited ferry service. I order groceries, run TWO businesses, schedule appointments, bank, do research (on things like ‘how to cut your children’s hair at home’, ‘Is this an ear infection my daughter is suffering with, and do I need to get her off the island in 8 to 10 foot seas’, and ‘teach yourself to…(fill in the blank)’). This is no toy! I truly could not live where I do without it; there is no other piece of equipment that could replace it.
My laptop (although a desk top would conceivably be workable if we had one instead of a laptop.)
I could not live with out my laptop. I am even trying to come up with a way to still use it in an extended power outage!
I can’t live without my digital camera!! I take bazillions of photos of my Sweet Baby James.
Joanna’s last blog post…More Exciting Things Than An Election
Camera. I can’t live without a camera, be it old fashioned with roll of film (in case the digital gives up the ghost!) or digital. We are a family that lives on two continents, in three separate nations and we wouldn’t be able to keep feeling a family if I didn’t take and send LOADS of pictures to the various grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, new girlfriends, etc. etc I think IT glues us all together, giving us an excuse to interrupt each other’s life, immortalizing moments we’ll need to savour in the intervening years (can’t be everywhere every year), and so on.
I couldn’t live without my computer. I could go without a lot, but after so many years of connectivity, I’d sorely miss its lack.
I can’t live without the Epson Artisan 800. I have been eyeing one of these babies for a while now. The heaven’s opened when I read this post.
But if I have to choose an item that I already have, it would be my DSLR. I am in love! What goes better with my DSLR? A photo printer, of course!
Thanks!
It’s not a tech gadget but I cannot live without my coffepot.
The gadget I can’t live without is my iPhone.

I’d go with my laptop, but part of me thinks that’s cheating, so I’ll say my digital camera. Living overseas really broke me of some gadget addictions though…cell phone, iPod, etc. Hope y’all are doing well back here
Say hello to Chick for me
Definitely the laptop. A new printer would enhance my life considerably!
I can not live without my cell phone. I remember a day when I could, but now I freak out if I realize I forgot it.
I would have to say that I can’t live without my cellphone. I love my camera and my mac too, but without that phone I would feel totally lost!
I guess my gadget would be macbook. It’s my internet, writing (freelance writer), finances, gaming and more!
the gadget i can’t live without? my laptop for sure. while i go in fits and spurts with my camera (always wanting to take more pictures, hating to take the time to upload them!), i cannot function without my laptop within my reach at all times!
robyn’s last blog post…an introduction of sorts
The gadget that I cannot live without would be my camera. I love capturing special moments.
I cannot do without my digital camera! Its so easy to snap the unsuspected photo where ever you are and make sure you have captured it perfectly! I’m hoping to upgrade my SLR to digital after Christmas!
Posted on my blog too!
I couldn’t live without my laptop. I would miss some of my other gadgets, but I think I would go into withdrawal without a computer. I use it for so many things – finding recipes, printing off coloring pages, answering the questions my daughter asks to which I don’t know the answer, printing coupons … the list goes on and on.
Can’t live without my digital camera…i can’t seem to stop taking pictures of my baby’s eyelashes growing LOL!
My bluetooth! With a 2 year old and infant, it sure comes in handy when my hands are full!
The one item I couldn’t live without is my blackberry. I definitely have a crackberry addiction! My gmail and my work email both com into it as well as CNN and facebook, I am truly obsessed.
I could not live without my camera. I got a Sony a100 about a year ago. I am not able to take much better pictures of my children. I would never go back to my old camera again.
Lia’s last blog post…The bottom of the box
I absolutely couldn’t live without my digital camera. I capture as many of the cute moments that we have every day that I can. My daughter is not even a year old and to date, I’ve taken over 2,000 pictures. I don’t want to miss a thing. I’ll just have to make sure I’m as “shutter happy” with our following children so they don’t feel left out.
Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway! Have a great day!
Wow! Too many! I need my printer/copier for school (although this one is much nicer than mine!) and I need my MP3 player for working out and cleaning.
Oooh, I would have to say that I can’t live without my phone! I use it as a watch, I text friends and family all the time cuz their on the same plan, and I take photos of the kids. Love it!

I can’t live without my computer- and internet too:)
I can’t live without my Palm. I love having it keep track of recurring events and to-do’s for me. It’s easily portable. It has a really cool shopping list feature. I can jot down little notes and ideas and process them later. I love it!
I never thought I would say it, but my iPhone. The gadget I got simply because I HAD to have one (even though I never knew what I was going to do with it). I am a stay at home mom, who didn’t even have a cell phone prior to this, so why did I need a $200+ phone. Being a closet gadget freak (and especially for apple products) I really wanted one, and it wasn’t hard to talk my Husband into a matching set for the two of us.
Now I can’t live without it. In 3 short months it has become my constant companion. It has replaced my living room sterio with just a set of speakers in the kitchen (much less cluttered). It is my link to the outside world with my Twitter client. It is my ability to call and see if my Husband wants to meet for lunch while I’m out running errands. I get my emails there, check my favorite blogs, everything. By far, my iPhone. Right after that would be my MacBook. Yeah, I’m an Apple person.
I never thought I’d say this, but i can’t live without my iphone. It combines so many functions, all in one place, and it keeps my kids occupied when we are waiting at the doctor or in line to vote!
My iPhone. I wouldn’t have guessed it would become indispensable so quickly.
I can’t live without my camera. Love it.
as cliche as it sounds… my phone. it’s my alarm, organizer, clock, and communication with the outside world as a single mom and full time student. i’m completely disequilibrated without it!

I can’t live without my Zen player. I listen to it everyday on my way to and from work. Thanks Edie
I could live without any gadgets. Truly I could. However, without my computer, I’d not be able to run my home-based business. After working for 8 years as a designer in a busy newspaper office, I began teaching myself web design, just as a hobby at first. Someone noticed my work and offered me a freelance job, which I accepted. That one job led to others and before long, I was able to quit my job at the newspaper and work from home, which made it lots easier to keep tabs on my 3 kids. Being able to work from home literally changed my life and those of my family members. That was 12 years ago (and 4 grandchildren ago) and I’m still doing web development at home, as well as digital stock photography and the occasional wedding photo gig. Could I use this awesome printer? You bet! I’ve got an older, low-end Epson that I have to nudge to keep working. This printer would enable me to expand my services as a photographer, and I’m drooling over it! Epson makes the best printer around, and it’s all I’ve ever owned. Please, please, please, pick me!
My camera, laptop and cellphone are givens…I can’t live without our cuticle nippers. I have a terrible habit of biting my cuticles if they are not trimmed down. I am not one for acrylics or even fingernail polish but I prefer it if my fingers do not look malled.

I can’t live without my iphone. I don’t know how I functioned before!
This printer looks like a winner! Hope I am too!
I can’t live without a computer, preferably a laptop. It has made my life so much simpler!
It’s a little trite, but I have to say my computer (read: Internet). I’ve become so accustomed to having knowledge and opportunity at my fingertips, so much so that I have withdrawals if I’m unable to use it. In many ways it’s both a time saver and waster for me but regardless of that drawbacks, it’s a necessity.

I would love to say something really profound, but right now, as a mom to three (including a 6 month old that doesn’t sleep through the night) who is still nursing and working full time, my favorite gadget is actually my coffee maker!
Eep, I forgot to add this…
My favourite gadget is my camera. Both hubby and I have bought good Nikons to take pictures of our multitude and I have it almost permanently attached to my neck all day.
Rosie : )
I couldn’t live without my computer, even if it is a dinosaur and takes up half my desk. Being a work at home mom, it’s my connection to the outside world, and to clients.
My digital camera is my favorite gadget. We have a daughter with autism and it is a challenge to get a good picture of her. How I love to see instantly whether we need a retake!
What a great printer! Thank you for the chance to win one!
As for my favorite gadget, does Google count? I know you can’t hold it in your hand, but Google does it all!! I use it daily for everything from to-do lists, email, documents, blogging, planning and searching the web to organizing digital photos. Google has made my life so much easier!
My laptop – search for recipes in the kitchen, look for a job, educational games for the kids, watch our next president speak, and coordinate my life via gmail and google calendar. Now that it’s being repaired, I’m a bit lost!

My video camera, definitely. We have a one year old who is just learning to walk. Having those videos to look at for years to come? Priceless!
I lived without my Canon 40D camera for far too long. I finally sprang for it about a month ago when I realized that I had let far too many of my passions go after my marriage and son’s birth. SO glad I bought it!
I can’t live without my Pure Digital Point and Shoot Video Camcorder! Easy to carry & capture video up to 30 minutes long, then super easy to flip out the attached USB to download my clips to the computer. Love, love, love it!
Does my circa notebook count as a gadget? My Everything is in there. Also low-tech is my cordless phone. When my 3 year old announces she’s giving a piggy-back ride to my 1 year old while I’m on the phone, I need to be there…fast.
Need my laptop.
My laptop.
I CAN NOT live without my iPhone. It’s my lifeline to the world.

I can’t live without my iPhone anymore. I’ve only had it 2 months or so, but already it’s like my lifeline. I can work, play, and even chat with it. I highly suggest everyone get one too. (Plus if they did, there would be no more counting minutes, as everyone would be on AT&T!) I love it!

I definitely could not live without my laptop!! I do so much on it – from my calendar, to menu planning, to recipe hunting, email, research, blogging, chatting, making doctor’s appts, refilling prescriptions, communicating with my kids’ doctors, getting directions, finding sewing patterns, getting other creative ideas, shopping, learning how to do things, finding solutions for problems that come up…when my internet connection goes down, I’m lost!!
I can’t live without my cell phone. I didn’t think I needed one, but now I couldn’t do without it.
I love my iPod. I can’t think of anything else I’ve ever bought that I’ve gotten as much use out of. I have videos, podcasts, music, and photos on it. It’s perfect for the long drives between my home and where I’m from. It’s perfect for listening to at work to drown out noisy coworkers and get things done. It’s perfect for listening to a podcast while walking around the neighborhood. I love it.
Thanks for the fun giveaways! And the always lovely blog!

My one gadget would be my computer but only for 2 purposes: email & the Internet. As much as I have a love/hate relationship with both items, I also can’t imagine having to wait a few weeks for a letter from my overseas friends or having to wait endlessly on the phone to make a flight arrangement, never knowing if I was getting any kind of “deal” or not. But other than that, gadgets aren’t really my thing – but that printer surely would be!!

Not to mention the games I can play!
I can’t live without my Mac PowerBook laptop
Wow, what gadget can I not live without? I think it would have to be my laptop! We live far from family so it helps to keep in touch and I also do most of my household stuff on it (budgeting, balancing ck.book, menu planning, recipe organizing, etc…).

My cell phone. I feel strange when if I leave home without it. Like murphy’s law is bound to have my car break down just despite the fact I don’t have it with me!

Does Wi-Fi count as a gadget – probably not – more of a service I guess. But that then leaves my iphone…it is quickly replacing my need for a computer…I can take photos, send emails, surf the internet, make phone calls, use the calculator, check my budget, etc. ALL on one small device. (but I still can’t live without my hand jotted lists and weekly planner…)
I’ve seen this printer before and it looks spiffy!

My favorite gadget is my laptop – it keeps me connected to work, home, and everything in between. Plus, I don’t have to have one of those clunky desktops cluttering my space.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great product.
At the moment, I can’t live without my immersion blender. It has opened up a whole new world for me and soup! And it’s so easy, no mess!
The gadget that I can’t live without is….my husband’s Nikon D70 SLR camera. It’s fun for me to play with, he takes great photos with it, and I get to put the results on my wall and decorate our tiny apartment with memories of places we’ve been, people we know, and the things we love
Hmmmm….right now it would have to be my Kitchenaide mixer with all the holiday cooking coming up. I have no idea how I ever made anything without it. Overall, though, it would have to be my laptop.
I can’t live without my fancy camera and lenses. It’s a Nikon D80 and I use it all the time. BUT — I never get anything printed! This would be GREAT!

I definitely can’t live without my camera. I take pictures almost daily. In my daugther’s first 19 months of life, I’ve taken over 6000 pictures!
The gadget I can’t live without right now is my laptop! Between tracking my diet, organizing my recipes, emailing baby pictures, and reading blogs on how to save a buck and where to take my kid, I’d be lost without it. Plus I can use it while nursing or otherwise entertaining the munchkin!

My digital camera! I have 2 little boys and I MUST capture their every move!
My first thought was my cell phone – not that I talk on it a lot, but it keeps me connected all the time. However, after reading comments, my camera is an extremely important one – so that would be the one I couldn’t live without!
My laptop. Sad, but true. I’m glued to this thing for more hours a day than I care to admit.
My iPhone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t know if this is the kind of gadget you’re talking about, but I really couldn’t live without my Mac. All the other stuff is fun, but the one thing I use daily, without fail, is my computer. It’s my BFF.
I can’t live without my garage door opener! We just moved to an old urban house with NO garage (hence, no garage door opener). But we built a garage and had the opener put in on Monday. It’s so good to have a garage (and automatic opener) back!

The gadget I can’t live without is my iPod. I would seriously melt down if anything happened to it. This is a gorgeous printer! And I’m sending you an email with the super secret code for an extra entry. Thanks!
I love my ROOMBA (robot vacuum cleaner)….thought it looked like the most frivolous thing in the world, but when we got a dog I thought I might lose my mind from all of the hair everywhere. Found one at a steal…I program the Roomba to sweep our hardwood floors at 2am every day – we sleep upstairs so we don’t hear a thing and I come down in the morning to clean floors!!
I can live without a lot of tech gadgets, but not without my cell phone. I live 4.5 hours away from my family (and most importantly, my 4 year old niece) and use it daily to communicate with them. It also holds most of my pictures of my niece.
I couldn’t live without my Nintendo DS Lite. As a busy mom of three, I find that I’m constantly waiting to pick kids up and taxi them around. I love playing puzzle games during this waiting time. It’s relaxing and makes the wait time fly by!

My Zyliss Garlic Press is the gaget I cannot live without! It immediately popped into my mind when I read the question. Though most people are going the technology route, I must remain faithful to the press! It makes mincing a dream and adds to my family’s culinary delights. It effortlessly minces fresh ginger too! If you don’t have one, quick, stop what you’re doing and go get one! Relieve yourself of the arduous process of mincing with a knife! Bon Appetit!
I’d have to say my laptop, but if that doesn’t count then it’s my digital camera!

My favorite gadget is my flip video recorder. It has been so much handier than whatever my hubby got before my son was born. It is even smaller than our camera and fits in my pockets!
Definitely my computer with internet!

Can’t live without our Flip video camera – am in love with it! So easy to share videos online with family that’s far away.
I’m a college student so I use my laptop a LOT. I love that I can do homework or write papers pretty much anywhere.
Definitely my ipod. Running has become such a joy without lugging a bulky radio or CD player. It’s great.
My new laptop. I can take it anywhere in the house and do a little surfing, work, watch a tv show I missed or snippet of SNL or just read an ebook.
I’ve been a big fan of Epson’s printers in the past and have recently been thinking about upgrading my old Epson R300. Your glowing review of this printer makes me excited! I’m curious, how much does the ink cost? That’s always been one big pain for me…ink is so expensive and gets used up so quickly.
In any case, the answer to your question about one gadget I can’t live without is my camera…it’s glued to my hand!

I never thought I would say it, but I can’t live without my cell phone. Between being able to text my hubby about anything anytime or knowing that day care can find me no matter where I am, I feel weird when I don’t have it with me.
The gadget I couldn’t live without is definitely my camera. We’ve got a baby in the house, and that camera has seen more use this year than ever!

My favorite gadget is my garlic press! I have a really nice one.
My favorite electronic gadget is my PalmPilot that has photos, Bible (in 2 languages), and lots of Word documents on it. And of course calendar, addressses, etc.
And I CAN live without a printer–as mine has been broken for over a month and I’m still alive, though it drives me crazy!

Not sure if it’s a gadget, but I cannot live without my computer. It’s my main source of communication and is the centerpiece of just about everything else I do.
Of course the gadget I can’t live without is my sewing machine. Mine is 26 years old and runs like a charm (it’s a Kenmore). Other than a new sewing machine (and serger), the best other ‘gadget’ would be an Epson Artisan 800 printer to print out the photos of all those things I do with my sewing machine.
Like others have commented, I wouldn’t want to live without my camera, cell phone, and laptop. I’ll add my broadband internet connection to the list. Because we live in an isolated area we only had dial-up until 2 years ago and I really would not want to go back to that!!
My cell phone.
Definately my computer and the internet. With the wealth of information, and also the ability to keep in touch with friends and family that I moved away from.

I definitely could not live without my laptop. Well, actually I could LIVE but I surely wouldn’t want to!!!
I’ve never been a huge gadget person, but our new digital camera has really been awesome. I love being able to take hundreds of pictures and then delete the junk w/out worrying about wasting film!
My laptop…I often surf the net while putting my baby to sleep on my lap…so it helps me keep in touch with friends and news
Sorry if I double up here, but my favorite gadget is actually very low tech! It is my apple corer/slicer! With as many apples I eat by myself and with my little man, it sure does save me a lot of blood sweat and tears!

not as interesting as the Epson that i hope to win….but still the thing at this moment that i would be lost without.
i use my crock pot for everything from heating up taco meat or meatballs for the boys’ game nights at the house to cooking up main dishes while i am at work. it has proved to be a life saver many times since my husband and i both work full time.
i am getting ready to start my own business from home and i would love this new printer extroidinaire : ) to help me be a little more prepared for all the needs that will arise as a small business owner!

I so can not live without my camera phone. Needless to say I take a lot of pictures for ideas and then email them to myself.
Definitely my digital camera. It used to be such a bummer to spend a small fortune to get a roll of pictures of my (then) baby only to find out none of them were any good.
TiVo! I love our TiVo. I wish I had TiVo for everything…the radio, my husband…
Thanks!!
My laptop, it’s a MacBook and I only wish the hard drive was bigger. It’s my baby, I take it to work every day as my personal jukebox, I’m online in the morning and evenings, I upload my photos on it… everything.
Right now it’s my computer, since I’m taking online classes. I couldn’t live without it, but now I really want a laptop! That printer looks mighty nice though too! I love the idea of printing graph paper, since I’m taking a math class (& my husband is too) & we both have to keep borrowing graph paper from our oldest daughter.

The gadget I cannot live without is my digital camera. I am an avid scrapbooker and so I’m always looking for photo opportunities. I don’t have a printer, so I’m the one downloading to disc to take to Sam’s club. This would be fabulous. Scrapbooking is my passion so having a printer that would print beautiful pictures would be just delightful. Thanks for the great giveaway.

Not much of a gadget person, but if I had to choose it would be my digital camera. I love to take photos and going digital was the best thing we ever did. No more unwanted photos, less clutter, and easier to share photos with family. This printer would be a wonderful addition!
It’s a toss-up between the keypad entry system for my garage door (I forget my house key a lot!) and my digital camera. I’m able to catch so many candid moments of my kids… I am lost when I forget to put it in my bag!

Hope that you are enjoying your visit with the family in the US. If you need to get away for a bit, come on up to Peterborough Ontario for a visit.

I’d hate to say I couldn’t live without a gadget – I mean, if I was on a desert island, then certainly I could do it. But I sure would hate to lose my laptop. My calendar, many recipes, all my photos, my writing, etc, etc, etc. What a handy tool to help me keep all the plates spinning!

It’s not so high-tech, but for me it’s my oven thermometer. It tamed my wild beast of a finicky electric oven.
Thanks for such a great giveaway, and great blog!
I have many gadgets I love and need – my cell, my computer, my kitchen appliences, but if I had to choose one gadget to have for the rest of my life, and my personal favorite, it would be the camera my husband gave me before the birth of our first son. I have always been a bit of a camera freak (I was historian for my sorority, and for my other campus organizations) but with the additions to my family, my camera is either in my hand, or only two steps from me. I could not live without it’s visual history it gives me!
I have to agree my digital camera is my most used item with children 9,7 and 16mo. Always something to capture.
Can’t live without my laptop!
The one thing I can’t live without is my laptop. I work from home (or wherever I may be) so it comes with us everywhere. I get my news on it, we watch movies on the airplane and in hotel rooms on it, I have itunes loaded with my and my daughter’s favorite music including the lullabies she falls asleep to.
And I’m sure there is so much more I could be doing but haven’t figured out yet!

Oh…Tsh…ever since BlissDom I have so wanted an Epson printer. Continuing to read about them in the weeks since have just created more interest (and want!). Those of you who received one have sold me on them; IF we had the extra cash, daggum it, I’d have bought one by now, but ortho and dental and kids’ athletics, and all those other “things” seem to need that money more. Go figure
.
ANYWAYS…sorry! I digress! The gadget I can’t do without (but wish I could) is my cell phone; if I leave home without it by accident, I feel half-naked!
