Weekend Links :: May I Introduce…

In usual fashion, you can peruse the stuff I’ve enjoyed this past week on my Tumblr – which you can now find at the top of this site when you click on “finds.”  I hope you glean something good from them like I have.

Also, I’ve got a little announcement and curtain unveiling to make. In light of enough of you writing and asking me great questions about blogging, I’ve started a new blog about – well, blogging. It’s called Darn Good Blogging. Catchy, no?

I’ll be writing weekly – it’s all I can tackle while still having a balanced life.  Simple Mom will remain my priority.

But I’ve started a six-week series at DGB on how to start a new “niche” blog from scratch, when you don’t have any previous experience. Follow along, if you like, and subscribe if you’re up for it.

And most of all, submit any blogging questions you might have, so that I can answer them for you. And thanks!

Your new blog is terrific and timely. I just launched my new blogs (although I’ve been blogging for Fit Pregnancy over the past year). My cooking blog, Kid Appetit , is devoted to healthy cooking for the whole family. It’s a pretty focused niche, so I hope I can grow it with success. I started my other blog, Everyday Blessings , because I wanted to write about my experience as a mom, yet I don’t want to just ramble on about anything and everything. So I’m trying for “quality” writing over quantity aiming to have the posts read more like short essays (with a focus on the intersection of faith and family). I hope I can be successful here too. My goal is to post 4 times a week. Anyway, you’ve helped me with your Simple Mom blog become focused and organized so I actually have a little time to work on my blogging. And now your new blog will help on the professional side! Also, I love your crisp, streamlined designs!

Great idea! Just one question – where do you find the time? You’ve added the book club and now this. I have two kids similar ages to yours and I don’t know how you do it. You’re an inspiration in time management!

First of all – hurrah for you rolling out a blog advice blog. You clearly have a knack for success in this realm. Thanks for sharing the wisdom.

But secondly, and the reason I clicked through from email – we used the EXACT SAME creative commons picture today! What is THAT about? what are the chances? (i have a different photo credit though. odd) Anyway, I just thought that was mighty interesting.
