This giveaway is now closed.

The first giveaway for November comes to you from one great company and from, well, yours truly. And it also happens to coincide with the next project in the 12 Weeks to Prepare for Christmas series.
Now’s the best time to start working on your holiday card plans. These days, sending digital newsletters or digital cards is the norm, but I still enjoy sending out the tried-and-true snail mail method (though yes, I detest paper clutter). For me, it’s all part of the holiday spirit to take a family photo, address and stamp envelopes, and lovingly display the ones I receive in return.
If you plan to include a family photo in your card this year, take your first shot this week while you’ve still got plenty of time, so that you’re not rushed and have time to try again. And if you’ve collated your address list, you should already know how many cards you need to order. It’ll save you money to order early with some shops, including mine.
Start addressing envelopes now, just a few at a time, and you’ll be golden by early December, when you can mail all your cards in one fell swoop. Keep your address list and envelopes in a convenient location, and write out a few at a time here and there. It’ll be painless.
If you plan on sending out photo cards this year, then I’ve got an chance for you to win some in this giveaway. One reader will win a customized high-resolution digital photo card file of their choice from Chickpea Designs, my graphic design shop. The file is yours to keep forever – you can make as many prints as you want, when you want. In addition, you will receive 10 5×7 prints of your photo card, free.
(And although I’m referring to holiday cards here, I’ve also got baby announcements, save-the-date cards, and birthday invites – any of those designs are eligible for this contest.)

The second addition to the giveaway is from PictureItPostage. You will win two sheets of personalized US postage stamps – simply upload your photo on their site, edit and align it, and voila – stamps with your children (or dog, or hamster, or neighbors) are headed your way.
PictureItPostage also has a hilarious contest going on right now – until November 19, upload your worst holiday photo, whether it be flat-out embarrassing or simply unflattering. Starting December 1, people can vote for their favorite photos – and two grand prize winners will win a new Canon Digital SLR camera and five sets of stamps. Plus, think how entertaining it will be to endlessly peruse horrible photos. Now that’s the gift that keeps on giving.
Here’s how you can win a personalized photo card design, 10 5×7 photo card prints, and 20 personalized postage stamps:
1. For a single entry, simply comment below, and answer this question – what’s your favorite holiday?
2. For a second entry, email me at simplemomblog (at) gmail (dot) com with the secret code in the email’s subject line (no need to write anything in the email’s body, as it won’t be read). To find the secret code, make sure you’ve subscribed to Simple Mom’s feed either via RSS or via email, and look in the footer of any post.
3. For a third entry, mention this giveaway on your blog, and make sure I somehow find out about it.
This giveaway will end on Friday, November 7, midnight CST. I hope you win!

definitely a toss-up between thanksgiving and christmas (i just love the whole season from nov. 1 through jan.2) but thanksgiving is very special in our family. my mother has 5 siblings, and their mom and dad (my grandparents) passed away when my mom and her siblings were all in their teens and twenties. therefore, christmas was never a time that we saw my mom’s side of the family as everyone dispersed to their respective in-laws. so when i was young, my mom started the tradition of having all her siblings and their families to our house for thanksgiving (5 siblings x catholicism = a BIG thanksgiving crowd). this was always such a magical time of being with my cousins, making up thanksgiving plays to perform for the adults, 15 kids sleeping in one room, telling ghost stories. now, 20 years later…the tradition still stands. every thanksgiving siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins, and now THEIR families, travel from around the country and congregate at my parents house in rural pennsylvania. last year the table was set for 30. our children will soon be putting on the thanskgiving plays for us. and it’s still magical.

Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday. I love all of the many traditions, time spent with family and all of the yummy food!!
I have two, 6 months apart: 4th of July & Christmas!
Since becoming a parent, I can’t decide which I love more-the celebration of thanksgiving or Christmas. In a pinch, I would absolutely choose Christmas, as it is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thanksgiving holds such a special meaning for us as we are concentrating on teaching our almost 3 year old daughter about gratitude and having a thankful heart.

I love Halloween! Candy and costumes baby!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving (though like your first commenter, Christmas is rapidly catching up with it as we make conscious decisions about how to celebrate).
But Thanksgiving is non-denominational, all inclusive, is a foodie’s Superbowl, brings home far-flung relatives, brings together friends and family, takes place during my favorite time of year, involves a lot of excitement around football…and involves no gifts!
I’m a new reader here, and I didn’t realize that you did holiday cards and other products. I love them!
Christmas of course!! I absolutely love decorating and seeing my family…and its the time of year I make my wonderful coffee truffles!!!
I think it would have to be thankgiving. No worrying about buying presents. It just a time to share with family
my favorite holiday is my son’s birthday. for a number of reasons. one is i get to see how much we both have growen in seven years (11-18-01) and remember where i was seven years ago. everyone gets together for it. he is an only grandchild so it is a BIG occasion.
My favorite holiday is Christmas. It seems it is the only time I can the whole family together all year. It doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks!
I absolutely love Christmas! Not only is it my Birthday but it’s a great family holiday. We love to get together for decoration, celebrating and memories!
My favorite holiday, by a landslide, is Christmas!
My favorite holiday is Christmas because it brings all the family together… Great time to celebrate.
Christmas is definitely my favorite. I love snow, Christmas music, hot cocoa, twinkly lights, giving gifts to others, and the list goes on! What a great giveaway! Thanks for sharing.

Favorite holiday – Thanksgiving. It is all about just saying Thank you and getting to eat way too much. There are no presents and it is not too commercialized. Love it!
Christmas!Christmas!Christmas!
christmas is my favorite. I love to decorate both the inside and outside of my home
My fave is Easter. My sister’s family comes for a visit and it is a chance for all of the cousins to hang out together for a long weekend. It is the only holiday that only revolves around our immediate family and does not require all that much preparation!
My fave holiday is Christmas

I love Thanksgiving! For my family, we have more time together and it is not as hectic as Christmas… so we can relax, eat, and be thankful!
I actually have 2 favorite holidays! I love Christmas and I also love Halloween! I love the hustle and bustle and decorations and sights and and sounds and smells of both! I love picking out and giving gifts! I love looking at Christmas lights and the smell of a live Christmas tree, even though I no longer get a live one. I love creating costumes for Halloween and most always made my sons costumes as he was growing up. And I still love dressing up in a costume myself, if I can. I love decorating my house for both holidays and each year I add something new to my decorations, even though I have way more then enough decorations. And most of all, I love being able to celebrate these holidays with my family and friends!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. There is no music, no gifts, and few decorations. It is centered around family, food, and thankfulness. It is a necessity to me to celebrate Thanksgiving and recall the countless blessings of the year, before preparing for the birth of Christ through the season of Advent, and celebrating Christmas starting on December 25 and lasting for 12 days!
I love Christmas!! It’s so amazing to see the joy in my children’s faces on Christmas morning.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Just like Christmas, but without the stress of gifts.

My favorite holiday is Christmas, because I’m a big fan of the music. But I like it only in the month of December…none of this starting Christmas before Halloween stuff. Plus, I get to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which is the best gift of all!

Christmas is my favorite Holiday. Not just because family is all together, but that I get to show them how much I love them and appreciate them with the gifts I give. I don’t always buy things either, I try to make things with the person in mind. I love Christmas and all the lights and decorations, and the reason behind the Holiday is why I love it the best. Thanks for the chance!

Christmas is my favorite holiday, as I love the scenery, the music and the smells of holiday goodies cooking.
I sure do love the Christmas spirit! I love to be out and about with all the holiday music, great shopping deals, and finding that perfect gift.
And..I also love Valentine’s Day. It’s a great day to spend loving everyone else. Bonus if you feel the love back!
I love all holidays-a day off work. But my favorite is Halloween. I love that time of the year with the rustling leaves and the bonfires. And I love to dress up my little goblins. My oldest daughter is 14 and still dresses up every year. Are we crazy or what?
My favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day. I love all the hearts and the sweet cards you get. It is for all ages.
My favorite holiday is Christmas even though I stress out about it for months, but it is all worth it to see my kids full of smiles and laughs on Christmas morning.
My favorite holiday…Christmas. No contest.
I think my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. You get to see close family, but there’s not the stress of sending cards, exchanging gifts or visiting everyone. Oh, and the food! I love the smell of turkey roasting in the oven…

My favorite is Christmas – nothing like the kids excitement on Christmas morning!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving! It’s a relaxing holiday (once all of the cooking is done). Then after dinner we all sit down together and go through the Black Friday sales ads and prep for the big shopping day!
I love the whimsy of Halloween!
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love the sights, smells, and sounds of the holiday. I LOVE spending time with my family. I love to see the smiles on the faces of my children when they get to open their presents. It’s a beautiful time of year with all of the lights and the sparkle of the ornaments and gift wrap. It is just a wonderful time of year.
It used to be Christmas but I’m definitely leaning towards Thanksgiving this year. All the family togetherness and good food without the pressure and stress.
My favorite holiday is definetly Christmas. I love seeing all of my family!
I must say that I absolutely love Thanksgiving! So much good food and time spent with family!
My favorite holiday is Christmas because it helps us to focus, as a nation, on the real reason for the season. Plus, it also helps that it is my birthday as well!
My favorite holiday has always been Christmas! If I could call the entire winter season my favorite holiday, I would. But to just pick one, Christmas would have to be it. I love the atmosphere, the music, the lights, decorating the tree, Christmas candles, being cozy, hot chocolate, Christmas parties, giving gifts, getting up early on Christmas day, still being anxious about opening my stocking.. The list could go on and on..

O love to spend time with my family getting out all the decorations and putting them up. Its a very special holiday and family time matters a lot to me so It makes this holiday very special for me. All the great Holiday times for Christmas start the weekend of Thanksgiving.
Favorite holiday would definitely be Christmas because I love giving and receiving presents!
I adore Christmas! I start getting excited about the shopping, the food, the lights, etc. around mid- to late October!
There’s just something about the holiday that screams TOGETHERNESS and warmth!
Well, my favorite holiday just passed by, Halloween. I enjoy all the kids coming by in their costumes and we like to dress up 2.
my favorite holiday has to be.. hands down christmas. i have always loved this time of the year and now that i have t 2 children ages 3 and 5 it is even more fun than before. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has felt the beginnings of this rough economic time but that will not keep us from celebrating the most important thing about this wonderful holiday, family!! I am most looking forward to my husband playing like he is santa claus as he walks through our attic. we have a 3 and a 5 year old who think they hear santa on our roof!!
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I think I love looking forward to it as much as I do the actual day!
Love this giveaway! We love Christmas now with the kids! It is so fun to see the excitement through their eyes and to pass on traditions.
Christmas is my favorite holiday because it is also my birthday!!!
Christmas is certainly my favorite holiday. And ever since I was little, I have been up late on Christmas Eve, finishing handmade gifts.
Heather’s last blog post…I voted!
My favorite holiday is Christmas. It isn’t about the presents. It is about Jesus Christ’s birth and celebrating it with family. It is the one time of the year that people make that extra effect to get together.
I love everything about Christmas!
Thanksgiving! I truly love being with family in the fall stuffing myself like a turkey and just enjoying the day with my family!
My favorite holiday by far is Halloween!
My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas, I love getting together with family and holiday baking and just how much fun all of the kids have.
My favorite holiday has always been Christmas. Between all the time off from school/work, and making time for family – and especially all the special traditional goodies our family eats. As corny as it sounds, there’s just something magical about it!

Christmas is by far my favorite. Growing up my family never really did much celebrating so I like to go all out. Well, as all out as our budget will allow. I love it all … the decorations, the cooking, the baking, the shopping, the presents (giving and receiving). There isn’t much I don’t love – maybe just the clean up.
Definitely Christmas! Especially this year because it is our first Christmas with our little one.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. My kids are just fascinated by Santa. The expressions are priceless Christmas morning. I also love the joy of seeing family and the exchanging of gifts.
Hands down my favorite holiday is Christmas!!! I am just like a kid myself, loving all the excitement and surprises! I love being able to give to others–it brings so much more joy than receiving!!

My favorite holiday hands down is Mother’s Day. I love that since my daughters are still babies, my husband still goes out and buys gifts from each of them and hand makes mother’s day cards to me from them and has them somehow “sign” them–whether its a sticky fingerprint or drool spots haha.
CHRISTMAS!!! Hands-down choice! I love the season–not as nippy in AZ as I would like, but better than August!, the music, the lights, the get-togethers, the family-time, cutting down the tree, the giving, the attitudes, and most of all…the whole reason for our celebration…the CHRIST in Christmas.
Thanks!
Jenn

Christmas
the music, the food, the family time, decorations, Jesus’ birth – all of it!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Its become a family tradition in my house for my children to help prepare the meal. My girls love baking pumpkin pies and my husband always works magic with the turkey.
I really love Christmas. I don’t get into the presents that much, but I love all the traditions like Christmas Eve service at church, making cookies to give away and the ornament exchange I host every year for my friends.
My favorite holiday is by far Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day. Why? Because of the wonderful tradition we started after my youngest was born.
It always seemed Christmas Day was a “run here, run there” kind of day to see family members. The Christmas after my daughter was born I said, “Enough!”. And so our new tradition began.
Christmas Eve night each family members opens 3 special gifts. A new book to enjoy (had for little ones to appreciate a good book with so many toys to choose from on Christmas), comfy new pajamas and an ornament to hang on the tree to signify a favorite moment or hobby started that year. Then it’s off to midnight service at our church.
On Christmas morning, we get up and get “dressed” in our new pajamas and hang out all day listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies or playing board games. Our usual meal is a buffet-style of everyones favorite hors d’oeuvres along with a big kettle of my hot ‘n spicy chicken soup.
All the family is invited to stop by for a casual affair, but normally we’ve celebrated with them sometime before Christmas day.
I wouldn’t trade this tradition for anything because I know during all the hustle and bustle of November and December my immediate family and I are going to have a relaxing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. I mean, who can’t be relaxed in a new pair of pajamas eating their favorite snack?
