You guys know a good deal when you see one! Thanks again to the great companies who gave away free diapers, and be sure to check out all the great diaper options out there.
Out of over 1,000 entries, random.org drew five numbers. Here are the winners:
Lillian, who said, “I don’t use cloth diapers, but my husband and I are seriously considering making the switch. Our little man is 9 weeks old and we are AMAZED at how many diapers he has gone through already. We’d love to make the switch (and some free diapers to start our stash would be AWESOME.) We are always looking to save money (I get to be a SAHM! But we have to make budget cuts to make it work.). Plus, we are both environmentally conscious and feel like we can’t justify the landfill waste we are creating with our disposables right now. Also? Thanks so much for all the information and videos! They are really helpful as entering the cloth diapering world is super overwhelming.”
Lauren, who said, ” We’ve been using cloth from the start with ours (now 8 mos.), and I totally agree- it’s much easier than you’d expect! We mostly use prefolds with covers, but we also have a few Bumgenius one-sizes. I love how soft they are on her skin. For covers we’ve had great success with the Prowraps (so much cheaper!) and satisfied with the Thirsties (they hold everything in fine, but don’t fit our long baby quite as well). Thanks for getting the word out- I love cloth diapering!”
Sarah, who said, “We’ve used prefolds with bummis wraps and made our own dipes too. Am currently making some with whatever scraps I’m finding around the house to fit within my frugal single, stay at home mama of two budget. Would love to win a few more for our stash to help out.”
Angela, who said, “I have never tried cloth diapers, though I am very interested in trying them. My son is 16 months old and we are expecting our second in Jan 09. Cloth diapers are better for our planet (and my pocketbook). Hope to get a chance to try some good cloth diapers. Thanks.”
Niki, who said, “Thank you so much for this comprehensive overview of cloth diapers. I’m due in a few weeks with my first baby and plan on cloth diapering. Right now I’m purchasing a few different types to try. It’s so overwhelming to try and figure out which kinds to use!”
Congratulations, ladies! I’ve written you an email, so look for it in your inbox.

I switched to cloth when my son was 8 months old; he is 14 months old now- and I love it! I do have a tip as far as products go though. Get Thirsties brand diaper covers. They are thin and light (so they move with your baby and don’t add extra bulk) but they do the job well. They have an extra cuff on the leg to prevent leaks. Also (and maybe best), Thirsties are one of the cheapest (about $12.50) and they are adjustable (they have buttons on the front to make them smaller or larger)- this means you only have to buy two sizes for your baby from birth through potty training! Amazing and economical.
