Carrie & Danielle is a duo-authored site dedicated to living an inspired life and making a difference in the world.
They ask their readers a daily question, which range from deep and thoughtful, to light-hearted and whimsical. They also feature regular interviews with people - recently they queried Guy Kawasaki of “The Art of the Start,” Leo Babauta of Zen Habits, Erin Doland of Unclutterer, and Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge.
They kindly asked to interview me, so I did my best with their outstanding questions - you can read the interview here.
Today’s Q&A Tuesday is also posted over at Carrie & Danielle. I’ll be over there with my own answer, along with reading all of yours. Comments are closed on this post - so click on over, and I’ll see you there!

One of my favorite indulgences is a few solitary hours in a bookstore, coffee in hand. I haven’t done that since we moved overseas, because 1. the English sections of bookstores here are pretty miniscule (as to be expected, of course), and 2. people here don’t walk around with coffee drinks - you sit down and drink them.
So this is something I am giddily anticipating. The first opportunity for some alone time, and I know exactly what I’ll be doing.
My question for you today:
You have two hours alone in a bookstore. No kids. No agenda. What section in the store do you investigate first, and what types of books do you settle in to explore?
Feel free to share specific books you’ve loved recently!

I‘m fairly certain that Simple Mom readers are the best in the blogosphere. You’re interactive, you’re smart, you’re funny, you’re passionate. You answer each others’ questions, and you read each others’ comments.
In short, you’re great.
I haven’t done this yet, but I’ve wanted to. Some of my favorite bloggers have done this, and I loved the posts that followed. I can’t promise anything, but I’d like to see what you come up with.
Ask me anything.
Seriously, ask me anything that’s on your mind. It can be deep, it can be silly, it can be about me, it can be about you. It can be about simple living, or blogging, or home life, or whatever. And I’ll try to answer some of them in future posts.
A lot of you write me emails daily, and they will always be welcomed and appreciated. But if you’ve had something on your mind, feel free to just leave it below in the comments. Have an idea I haven’t yet covered here? Curious about something in my life? Have a nagging issue in your home, and think Simple Mom is the place to post its answer? Please share!
A caveat - I won’t answer the following questions:
- Where do you live?
- What does your husband do for a living?
- Can you give me specific, one-on-one blog coaching or advice for free?
- Can you give me big bags of money?
Sorry, no can answer those questions. Well, I should say, I’m not at liberty to answer the first three - the last one, I literally can’t do.
And you’re still welcome to write me an email, if you’d rather not leave it below.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
