Today I’m over at the launch of a new site sponsored by Dayspring — Back to School with Purpose. I’m talking about one of the more emotional days headed my way… my oldest child’s first day of kindergarten.

From my post…

“My oldest daughter starts kindergarten at the end of the month. Yep, I’m entering that stage — and I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday she was born, and yet in just a few short weeks, I’ll be doing the mom-minivan-drop-off thing every morning at 8 a.m.

I’ve been scouring thrift stores for Peter Pan-collared shirts, khaki skirts, and navy polo shirts, since she’ll be going to a small, urban private school. This, combined with a giddiness of 25-cent sales on crayons at the grocery store, has sobered me to the milestone this is in our family’s life.

No longer will we be a family with only babies and preschoolers. We’ll be one with a kid in school.

This one is a bit different from the usual posts I write. Head here to read the rest of my post and to leave a comment.
