This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Jessica A. – congratulations!

Today’s giveaways all feature Etsy stores, one of my favorite online shopping spots. Buying from Etsy means supporting small businesses, cottage industries, and parents who can make extra money while staying home with kids. And when you buy Etsy, you receive handmade, one-of-a-kind products – it’s a win-win situation.

The first shop is The Little Room, a delightful little shop from Liz Lamoreux. She sells patchwork aprons, pillows, scarves, bags, and most recently, necklaces.
I’ve had my eye on her aprons for awhile now, and now, one Simple Mom reader will win one called “A Day For Painting In The Studio” (shown at right). Her Selma Patchwork aprons are perfect for crafting, housework, and a myriad of other home management tasks.
Inspired after her great-grandmother Selma’s quilts, Liz’s patchwork aprons embody simplicity, unique design, and color. I love them.
Here’s How To Win:
1. Leave a comment on this post, answering this question – What’s your favorite household chore?
2. To get a second entry – and a second entry on all the giveaways this week – subscribe to the Simple Mom feed and email me the movie quote at the bottom of any post in your feed reader or email inbox (there is only one quote for all the giveaways). Send it to simplemomblog (at) gmail (dot) com, and put the quote directly in the subject line. The body of the email won’t be read. And you only need to email me the quote once in order to get a second entry for all the week’s giveaways.

This giveaway will end this Sunday, February 1 at noon EST. I hope you win!

I love doing the laundry! people think it’s crazy, but I will do it even when I don’t really have to do it.
I wish I had a chore fairy, so i wouldn’t have to do any, but I love walking on my floors after they are vacuumed. No grit.
My favorite household chore? Anything that looks “done” when it’s done. I’m not a big fan of vacuuming or dusting, because almost instantly — dust bunnies have returned, and there are fingerprints on the coffee table. But the dishes? Those usually stay done for at least an hour or so. Also, I love anything that my toddler can help me with: taking dishes out of the dishwasher, wiping down cabinets, etc. Either way, I’m much more fond of housework now than I was a few years ago!

Wow, her stuff is beautiful!
I love hanging laundry out to dry on our line. It is so methodical and quiets my soul a little bit.
I LOVE this! I think cooking/baking would be my favorite household chore and i’d love to wear this while i’m in the kitchen!
My favorite household chore, by far, is mopping!
What a cute apron! My favorite chore would be vacuuming — I love the immediately noticeable results!
I am in love with this apron and sure hope I win it!
My favorite chore is organizing. It could be anything, I just enjoy seeing something go from messy chaos to organized and functional. Thanks for this great give away!
Love that you’re supporting Etsy and handmade with your giveaway!! These aprons are adorable, and I think I may have to check them out regardless of a win… although I’d love to win it!
My all time favorite ‘chore’ is vacuuming! I love clean floors, well, I love a clean house, but doing the dishes or laundry is not my idea of fun… just necessity. But vacuuming, I could (and sometimes do) vacuum every day!

I used to hate vacuuming until we bought our dyson vacuum…now it’s my favorite chore!!
does anyone really have a favorite household chore – I mean – really – a favorite. I hate em all… but I guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be wiping the counters clean. Even if there is clutter everywhere a clean countertop can make all the difference…
what a cute apron!
have to say my favorite household chore would be making the beds – i love how it makes the whole room feel clean and neat.
Oh, PLEASE – me! Me! That is so beautiful! I’m an apron fanatic. I digress. My favorite household chore, without a doubt, is menu planning/cooking.
Vacuuming, because by that point I am almost finished with cleaning!
I love cooking. That’s my absolute favorite. I love trying new recipes and sharing the winners with others. I also love organizing things and making our home comfortable.

I think I would probably pick vacuuming because that one task can make a room seem clean even when it isn’t.

I love to vacuum. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs and kids. Vacuuming a clean path through the dirty carpet is always rewarding.
my favorite chore is folding laundry. However, growing up, it was cleaning the bathrooms!
I enjoy folding the laundry because you can watch tv doing that!

vaccuuming is my favorite! instant gratification!
What great aprons. I think my favorite chore is washing dishes. It relaxes me and there’s something about having a clean kitchen that makes me feel like the whole house is clean since the kitchen is the center of our home.
I love to make food–cooking, baking. Today I have the other weekly chores done, so all I have to do is make bread, stock, yogurt, and granola for the next week. Yay.
I LOVE to vacuum…with a furry 85 pound dog it makes a HUGE difference to have fur-free floors, even if it is just for a minute!
I like changing the bed – the fresh linens smell so good, and I love how the bed is all fresh and perfect right after I change it. I have to do it at least once a week.
I love making beds, dusting and vacuuming. These things don’t take much time, but everything looks and smells fresh when you’re finished. I also love the way I feel after organizing a closet. I’ll keep opening the door, looking at the cleaned-up space and smiling to myself. Yeah-me!
I love doing laundry. There’s something about clean-smelling clothes that just appeals to me.
Cute. My favorite is wiping down the kitchen counter. I just looks so clean when its done.
i love to iron.
it makes me happy to smooth out wrinkles in clothes.
I love that apron!!
My favorite chore has always been laundry. Maybe it is because the washer and dryer do all the work.

Don’t tell my wife, but I have grown to enjoy doing the dishes. It leaves my mind free to ponder whatever it is we men ponder. I’d tell you, but then I’d have to remember.

I love working in the kitchen – cooking, baking, cleaning up, and washing dishes are all enjoyable for me. I just hate washing the floor!
A favourite household chore? Is that an oxymoron?
Out of them all, I like decluttering or organizing best.
Sarah Bessey´s last blog post…In which I review the Christian Writers Market Guide
My favorite is either doing the dishes or laundry. This is the cutest apron!
Awesome giveaway!!!
I have to say cooking…I really do not enjoy any other chore.

Mopping floors. And I just love, love , love that apron.
Pick me, pick me.

Favorite chore…wiping down the kitchen counters and cleaning the coffee maker every morning. It has become a quick ritual for me and makes everything look tidy.
LOVE the aprons! Hope I can win one!
I know many would think I’m crazy, but I like washing the dishes. Now, I don’t look forward to it…but the result at the end of a long day – a clean kitchen – makes me feel at peace. Nothing like waking to a clean kitchen (only to mess it up all over again!).
Well that is a positive spin on chores. I think for me I like vacumning. I find it soothing and it takes the least amount of time.
Carrie Lim´s last blog post…An Exciting Milestone
I really like organizing – seeing things put back in their place – fresh and clean.
I also enjoy baking bread. My husband loves it and I love that I’m doing something that a year ago I was just plain scared to do. I thought it was complicated I guess. I’m beginning to realize that baking and cooking is really just an area that allows for experimentation and there really isn’t need for caution or anxiety. I just kind of go with it – and I’m a 100% Type A, perfectionist! Crazy!
What an awesome apron!! i love it!
I can’t say that I have a favorite chore, but the ones I do first are dishes and laundry. Dishes because i love a clean kitchen, i hate the work that goes into it, but the finished product gives me a sence of pride. The Laundry because i know that I am helping my husband with having clean clothes for him to wear to work.
liz´s last blog post…THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Favorite chore? Hmmm…in the winter, washing dishes (ahh, warm water!)
I am working on getting on a friendly basis with household chores. I like watering the plants. You get in. You get out. And you’re done.

Cooking/baking!
Vacuuming gives me the most satisfaction.
Thanks for the chance to win one of her great aprons. It would sure be a hit here.
My favorite “chore” is washing cloth diapers. Eww… I know, but it’s relaxing. My other favorite, I don’t really consider a chore, I love baking. Anything and everything. Love food that is warm and fresh!
Tory´s last blog post…this week’s menu and planning for SUPERBOWL!
My favorite household chore is cleaning the kitchen. If the kitchen is clean the rest of the house feels clean to me.
My favorite household chore? Hmm… that’s a tough one. I’m going to say sweeping. There’s something oddly satisfying about little piles of dirt, hair and other debris getting dumped in the garbage.
Liz´s last blog post…Awe Inspiring Art
I’m not sure I have a favorite household chore to be honest but I love the results of a clean kitchen and freshly vacuumed floors.
I love getting the laundry out of the drier, throwing it on a big pile on teh floor and watching my 3 and 1 year olds attack it. It winds up on their heads, in the air, and genreally quite wrinkled. But it’s warm and feels good and pretty darn fun to watch so what’s a little wrinke or two? Does giving your kids baths count as a chore? It does for me since it’s a fight to get them in the tub. But having stocked up on bath crayons helps. I’ve also taken to blowing bubbles in the bathroom while they are in the tub which makes it a lot more fun.
I love vacuuming. It’s so gratifying, watching the floor turn from yuck to aaaaah!

Oooh, yummy fabrics, fun giveaway!
I’d have to say my favorite is probably laundry. Good thing too, cuz I hafta do it everyday!
A close second is tidying up clutter, clearing counters. I see the most accomplishment in the quickest amount of time with that one.
I’m going to have to say that I love cooking and cleaning up the kitchen (if you can consider that a chore!!). I love laundry, but folding is just not applealing whatsoever!!
I hate cleaning, but love the way the house looks after it’s done!
Jaime´s last blog post…Baby Changing Pad, Burp Cloth set
Cute stuff!! I like doing laundry the best. Not sure why…maybe because it doesn’t require getting my hands wet, dirty, etc.
Hmmm. Favorite chore… I guess making the beds because it’s got the best immediate pay-off. It does the most with the least, I guess you could say! Ha!
I actually kinda like doing the laundry…sorting, treating stains, even folding. Putting it away? Not so much…
Laundry…even though it is endless, I really don’t mind doing it.
I would say vacuuming. Everything looks better when the floors are clean!
I get the most satisfaction out of cleaning the kitchen….minus hand-washing any dishes. I hate that.

Love the giveaways!
Julie Marshall´s last blog post…Today is National Chocoate Day!
My favorite chore is vacuuming. It all started when I was in college working for a small retail store that had dark blue carpet. Oh, what fun it was to watch all the colorful lint systematically lift away! Since then I’ve became an obsessed vacuumer and it returns order to my life. Glad there is something that can do that for me…
Oooh! I’ve been thinking about getting some new aprons…except I need the full frontal coverage to keep the grease spots off my clothes…so, what’s my favorite household chore? I really don’t care for housework at all! I like to see the results, but it’s hard for me to enjoy getting there. But I do love to cook! I like to experiment with recipes and put those smiles on my family’s faces as they sample my cooking. Oh, and I also enjoy working on the computer, like for financial records or ministry stuff (letter-writing, ministry website updates, etc.).

Hmm, hard to call it a favorite, but there’s something satisfying to me about laundry. For fairly little effort a lot gets accomplished.
It’s a toss up between making laundry soap, and folding the clean laundry!

Seriously…….. my favorite chore???? Surely, you jest! I actually laughed out loud.
My favorite chore is NO CHORE!! There’s nothing fun about doing the chores, but the finished product is worth it, and so I do them. Albeit begrudgingly….
Super cute apron though — would love to win it — would maybe make things easier to manage — at least I would look good doing them, right?
I like doing the laundry, oddly enough. Everything except the folding and putting away part…
I love to do dishes by hand using Mrs. Meyers dishsoap (Rose Geranium is the best). I enjoy the scented steam and end up with a clean sink as well.
What’s your favorite household chore?
Favorite and chore don’t go together for me.
If I had to pick, dusting the hardwood floors. It makes them sparkle.
My favorite chore is cooking and baking.
I like just tidying up, making things look neat. I also like dusting because it makes everything look so clean. I hate vacuuming, as much as I like the results.
Beautiful Apron! I’m gonna have to go check out her store right now and see what else she has.
My most favorite household chore is cooking. I love trying out new recipes, and also enjoy taking pictures of what I make and posting them on my blog! I’m by no means a gourmet, but I love making food that makes others happy… especially my family!
MommyAmy´s last blog post…Super Cookies
My favorite is cooking!
I love cooking! I recently started baking. I always said I couldn’t bake, but now that I have 2 girls, I guess I can. I love the apron!
Favorite chore = doing the laundry. Everything smells so good when its done and all my favorite things are ready for me to wear again! It really is true that I wear 20% of my clothes 80% of the time. (Next favorite chore is purging stuff from closets and donating them.)
hmm…favorite household chore??? Probably cleaning the kitchen. A nice sparkly kitchen makes me so happy.
It’s not the chore I enjoy so much as it the approach of which there are two depending upon my mood. The chore is scooping cat litter.
When it’s a good day, I pretend to be a cheap lounge singer and perform “Fee-links” like Marlena Deitrick might sing it. Now it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine what a feelink is in a cat litter box.
Sung to “Feelings” by Albert Morris:
“Feelinks, nothing more than feelinks.
Trying to scoop oouutt these feelinks thereof.
Kittens hiding all their feelinks
Making all my efforts a labor of love.
Feelinks, woo-o-o feelinks,
woo-o-o, feelinks again in the box.
Feelinks.
When it’s a bad day I liken the chore to riding my life of all the crap I don’t need.
Sincerely,
Amy Hardin Turosak

There’s something about vacuuming that is satisfying. And I do love the feeling of a newly decluttered area.
I love the outcome, tho not the process, of a clean bathroom.
My favorite household chore is cooking/baking…is that a chore? If not, I guess it would have to be folding laundry – it’s one of the few times I get to sit down every day!
My favorite chore is cleaning windows. I can lose myself in deep thoughts and when I’m done I have beautiful clean windows to let in the sunshine. Also, I like tto use organic window cleaner!
Well I have two, but don’t tell anyone! lol! I like to wash the breakfast dishes. It warms me up! And I really enjoy hanging my laundry on the line (we live in Mexico and have no dryer). I love standing out in the sun in my little corner of the yard – away from all of the chaos. And it’s good exercise too!
hmmm… who has a favorite chore?
I like my bathroom clean. I love the way it smells after it’s been cleaned. I also like it when my one rug in the house is vacuumed. For some reason, it collects all the dirt in the house.

Laundry is my favorite chore – I can get so much else done between changing loads! The baby clothes are my favorite to fold and put away.

My favorite chore would be cooking dinner. I love to cook, so it hardly counts as a chore.
I like to file. I don’t do it very often, I tend to let things pile up, but once I file, it is very refreshing to know that everything is put away!
Shannon Angelos´s last blog post…Noah’s Dedications
Vacuuming by far. Everything else feels like a real chore, even though I love the results.
My favorite chore? Probably organizing. It feels good when everything has a spot and the clutter is cleared out.
Not that I love to do it, but I love the results – A freshly mopped floor is heaven!
