Today I’ve got a gift basket giveaway that enhances life with little ones.  Since this blog is about simplicity, and since it’s geared towards parents, these products align perfectly with our entire philosophy here.  Plus, I love that every one of these companies are mom-owned and operated.

One reader will receive all of these items as one gift basket plethora of childlike goodness!  Read on.

Oliver Handmade

Erin has a darling shop, Oliver Handmade, where she sells her hand-appliqued and embroidered onesies, shirts, and bibs for little ones.  I especially love the animals – she’s got everything from elephants to crabs to elks!

For the gift basket, Oliver Handmade is giving a 3-6 month short-sleeved onesie with her Gerry the Giraffe design.  Too cute.

Swingset Mamas

These two moms named Swingset Mamas are song writers and performers who’ve collaborated on two CDs of music for the entire family.  Their lyrics are fun and educational, and – well, let’s just say their music doesn’t sound too much like kids’ music.  The parents won’t go insane listening to it.  It’s a win-win!

Swingset Mamas is giving away one copy of their latest DVD, Swing, Dance and Sing.  You can see more by heading here for a compilation of their work.

Shape-Its

Michelle, a busy mom, invented Shape-Its, which are aluminum cook-top and oven-safe food shapers.  They come in over 30 different designs, and you can create concoctions like individual turtle pizzas, pterodactyl pancakes, giant airplane cookies, and heart hamburgers.  What kid wouldn’t love that?

Shape-Its is giving away two holiday kits, just in time for Christmas!  Each kit contains a tree, star, and angel shape, along with decorating gel, sprinkles, and four food-safe markers.  And because they’ve donated two, that means one additional reader will win a kit!  Thank you, Michelle.

Little Alouette

This is a very sweet mom-and-pop shop (literally), where they make all-natural wooden toys and baby gear for little ones from their home.  Little Alouette creates blocks, rattles, and more, using maple wood and organic seed oils as a finish.  Their stuff is beautifully simple.

Little Alouette is giving away a maple rattler teether, perfect for your baby or for a baby shower gift.  Let the drooling begin.

Ambajam

Ambajam carries the cutest baby gear, including mix-n-match clothing and accessories and some really great blankets, quilts, and pillows.  Their cuddle blankets get rave reviews around the blogosphere – most have said they’re like squeezing a cloud.

Ambajam is donating a mini cuddle to the gift basket, a great on-the-go blanket made with double-sided plush felt, and adorned with an embroidered baby turtle.  Love it.

Swaddlebees

Margarita began sewing diapers for her newborn in 2004, and today, she runs Swaddlebees, her organic fabric diaper business that also sells covers, accessories, and high-quality cloth diapers in 32 designer fabrics.  The diapers are lined with organic cotton, which is non-toxic and non-irritating, and contain no bleach, chlorine, or pesticides.  Its specially-woven microfleece is 95 percent less susceptible to detergent build-up.  Cloth diapering is now just as easy an option as disposable, with so many choices, supplies, and well-made materials.  They just make so much sense ecologically and economically.

Swaddlebees is giving one reader one of their latest pocket Econappis in a fun print.  This is perfect for the parent who wants to give cloth diapering a spin.

Laugh-Friendly

Two sisters, Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice, created the world of Nana Star based on characters created years ago by their grandmother.  The stories are above all concerned with inspiring character by encouraging traditional values like compassion, kindness, and generosity.  Their beautifully-illustrated picture books are created to build character in youngsters – they promote positive values in a simple and imaginative manner.  So sweet.

The Laugh Friendly publishers are giving a wonderful set to the gift basket – the books “Nana Star” and “Nana Star and The Moonman,” a Nana Star poseable doll, and a Moonman Lovey.  In addition – and this is what I just love – they will give the winner an additional one to donate to their favorite charity, children’s hospital, library, school, organization, or caregiver.  What a quality company.

MetroTots

Mary Ann Schwanewede of MetroTots is an urban mom in New York City, and had a problem I can definitely relate to – where to store the stroller.  Those of us that live in metropolitan cities – and the suburbs, too – know that storage space is at a premium, and strollers can be cumbersome-yet-essential gear.  She created the StrollAway, an over-the-door storage system that works for most models of strollers.  It’s made of durable steel and is adjustable to nine different positions.  So simple, but it’s brilliant.

MetroTots is giving one StrollAway to the gift basket.  You better believe I’m psyched about a product that is both created by a mom and reduces clutter and streamlines home organization.  I’m in love with this thing.

Whew…  What a giveaway, no?  The total value is over $230 – most of this would make wonderful Christmas presents, so it’s just in time for the holidays.

How To Win

1.  Leave a comment on this post and tell me something cute your little one does or says (or if you’re not a parent, it can be any little one in your life). I know this will be really challenging for you.

2. For a second entry, blog or Twitter about this giveaway and make sure I know about it.

No secret code this time…  I’m still recovering from the last secret code giveaway.

This giveaway ends on Wednesday, December 3 at midnight CST.

I hope you win!

My 15 month old daughter…how she entertains me! It’s hard to narrow it down to one thing…just this morning she was sitting with her Daddy on the futon, playing Playstation. She has her own control (not hooked up!) to be just like Daddy…two peas in a pod!!!!

I twittered about it as sonyafreeney

My little guy is only four months old and can’t talk, sit, or roll over yet. But he does have his little way of talking – and it always sounds Really Important! I posted a video on my blog for the relatives a while back:
http://babyfriday.blogspot.com/2008/11/message-from-boy-friday.html
Super cute! Well, to me, anyway. I also love his little laughs (but who doesn’t like baby laughs?).

What an awesome giveaway full of things my baby would love in his stocking! My 4 year old daughter is always saying cute things, like heartbeep instead of heartbeat and pinktails instead of pigtails. My baby boy has just learned how to wrinkle his nose, and he does it all the time! Too cute!

My 13 month old loves to drop things from her high chair. Except right before she lets them go she looks at us quite earnestly and says “Uh Oh…” As if to let us know she’s really going to do it. Too cute. Although what doesn’t she do that’s cute? ;) Thanks for the great giveaway!

So many cute things my 20 month old does… I just don’t know which one to choose!! Her latest thing is to say “Cuuu-ute!” whenever she sees something she likes. It has caused me to buy many new outfits for her. Neither of us can resist something “Cuuu-ute”

My son used to think eleven was a huge number, so if he wanted to indicate that he wanted a whole lot of something, he’d say, “Mom, I want BUNCHES of elevens!”

My Maddie likes to eat “girl cheese sandwiches” instead of “grilled cheese” and insists that boys aren’t allowed to eat them!

Something cute that my baby does is he poots everytime I peep in the leg of his diaper to see if he is clean and my niece is so cute because she is always doing the itsy bitsy spider with her hands and she isn’t even singing, she just likes the part you do with your hands!

WOW! What a giveaway!

My daughter is just beginning to talk, so everything she says is a treasure to me. The other day I was laying down with her so she would fall asleep for her nap. She rubbed my forehead and said “Mommy close eyes.” I guess she wanted some company during her nap!

What a fantastic giveaway!

One thing my 3 year old says after dinner is, “Mom, will you do service for me?” when he wants me to clear his plate. How can I say no to that?! I really love it when he says, “Mom, I will do service for you.” and clears my plate!

avatar stephaniesmommybrain

Each of my kids has had a different word for banana. 2 yr. old Ellie says “bana,” 3 yr. old Ben just recently stopped saying “buh-bana,” and 5 yr. old Will USED to say “manna.” I’m sad when they start saying the correct word.

Thanks for the give-away. I love reading your blog!
My husband works quite long hours and so sometimes it feels like he isn’t here very much. He is currently at home for a month and my son told his teacher that he was the “luckiest boy in town because his dad is home for Christmas.” It’s amazing the things kids say that really explain what is going on in their hearts.

My 9 month old son recently started trying to wrestle my husband if he is lying on the floor near him. My son crawls over and throws himself on my husband repeatedly and giggles. Very cute!

avatar Michelle

Fox’s way of saying he wants to be held is to say “I wanna hold you” instead of “Hold me” – it is so funny!

avatar Amber

Oh, it’s hard to choose just one cute thing my kids do or say. The first thing that came to my mind is my daughter says O-Tay instead of okay. I love it! My 16 month old waves his hand when he wants to say Yes- his own little sign language. I could go on forever…

Thanks for the chance!

My littlest one still uses many of his own words for things. The stairs, for instance, are “bumpity,” as in, “bumpity, bumpity down the stairs.” If he wants to go up or down stairs, he says, “Me Bumpity!”

Don’t know how cute it is… but it makes us laugh every time… my 4-year-old learned all about the pres. candidates at school and was telling his little brother (almost 2) all the scoop. Well, now every *single* time we see Barack Obama or here his name on the radio… the little guy gets soooooo excited and jumps up and down and yells “Grock Omama, mama!! Grock O-ma-ma, mama!!”

avatar Hanna

My son isn’t speaking yet, but he’s certainly isn’t lacking in the cute category! After a while of rigorous play, he slumps against the nearest object that will support his weight and acts as though he’s completely worn out. Just taking a break for the next round….

avatar Megan

My almost 2 year old daughter is so funny. Sometimes when she is in trouble she looks at me and says “Hug, You need a hug.” How can you be upset with that.

My daughter who is 2 1/2 believes she is a princess & wears a princess dress (that is in tattered rags) every single day & when we meet people out & about, she glows when they compliment her outfit & she will twirl & say,
” LOOK AT ME!! I AM A PRINCESS!”

I love the innocence and deep belief that she has that this is true. I wish she could keep it forever.

My almost 3 year old was riding in the car one morning looking out the window, and the moon was still visible, even though the sun was relatively high in the sky. She was confused to the moon and sun both being out together, then she said, ” I know what happened, the sun asked the moon to stay for a donut!” Also, the other day, we were out walking and saw two different people with puppies and she said to me, “I wanted a puppy, but all I got was Molly.” (Molly is her baby sister) We would everything in this giveaway! Thanks for the chance to talk about our cuties!

avatar Darcy

What a great basket! My little boy who will be 2 in March is a bit behind in his language skills. Everything he says or attempts to say is so cute to me. But what is super sweet is when he is “helping” me put away the silverware, he will get it out of the basket and hand it to me and say thank you which sounds something like “tane too”. He says when he hands me anything he knows he isn’t supposed to have and also when I put him in his high chair to eat.
I LOVE IT!

Our two year old is constantly taking stock of who is in the house, or car, or wherever we are at. We’ll hear her in the kitchen going, ‘Mommy, Daddy, Deyah (what she calls herself) sometimes adding in the cats or grandmas or friends who aren’t there. When she says their name she quickly follows it with a ‘no!’ and a bout of laughter. Because obviously that’s hilarious!

When my daughter was very young, she used to get beginning consonants and syllables mixed up. Here are some of her more memorable words: chock hotlick (hot chocolate), chee cains (key chains), wonderland (underwear), patterkillers (caterpillars), and poo taste (toothpaste)! She cracked us up all the time, and I felt kind of sad when she started saying words correctly.

My favorite thing that my twin 19 month old boys are doing right now is singing. They sing some recognizable songs and I love to hear them sing about Jesus’ love for them but I also thoroughly enjoy when they sing, in their sweet voices, songs that they have made up. All of my children have always said “Hold you!” when they want to be held. It’s so precious. I was distraught when my five year old stopped saying it. There are so many other things, but that’s the first thing that popped into my head.

My 3 1/2 yr old nephew recently saw a mini-van in a parking lot and told his mom that he wanted one. My sister-in-law, ever the simple mom, explained that since they only had 2 kids, they didn’t need one. At Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, my nephew announces that his mommy is going to have 2 more babies, Toodles and Kiki, and that they’ll then get a mini-van. When pressed further about the babies, he sighed with exasperation and replied, “Ugh! We don’t have them now, because Mommy hasn’t cooked them yet!

I’m going to read it when I get home.” I tried to explain that it was a hard book, that I’d been reading it for years and hadn’t read all of it yet, but she was undeterred. And she’s sitting on her bed reading it now (she’s 7). I don’t need to win, but it would be great to have a cache of shower presents in the house.

My little one has 8 weeks to go before his long anticipated arrival but our favorite game is to give my belly a push when he’s kicking and feeling him push back. Its amazing being pregnant, I can’t wait to meet him!!

My 10-month old makes this clacking noise with his tongue, and right after he does it he giggles, he literally makes himself burst into laughter.

Keana´s last blog post…Happy Thanksgiving!

Our little grandson calls all dogs “Buddy” since that is the name of our dog. It is the clearest word that he can pronounce.
