Today I’ve got a gift basket giveaway that enhances life with little ones.  Since this blog is about simplicity, and since it’s geared towards parents, these products align perfectly with our entire philosophy here.  Plus, I love that every one of these companies are mom-owned and operated.

One reader will receive all of these items as one gift basket plethora of childlike goodness!  Read on.

Oliver Handmade

Erin has a darling shop, Oliver Handmade, where she sells her hand-appliqued and embroidered onesies, shirts, and bibs for little ones.  I especially love the animals – she’s got everything from elephants to crabs to elks!

For the gift basket, Oliver Handmade is giving a 3-6 month short-sleeved onesie with her Gerry the Giraffe design.  Too cute.

Swingset Mamas

These two moms named Swingset Mamas are song writers and performers who’ve collaborated on two CDs of music for the entire family.  Their lyrics are fun and educational, and – well, let’s just say their music doesn’t sound too much like kids’ music.  The parents won’t go insane listening to it.  It’s a win-win!

Swingset Mamas is giving away one copy of their latest DVD, Swing, Dance and Sing.  You can see more by heading here for a compilation of their work.

Shape-Its

Michelle, a busy mom, invented Shape-Its, which are aluminum cook-top and oven-safe food shapers.  They come in over 30 different designs, and you can create concoctions like individual turtle pizzas, pterodactyl pancakes, giant airplane cookies, and heart hamburgers.  What kid wouldn’t love that?

Shape-Its is giving away two holiday kits, just in time for Christmas!  Each kit contains a tree, star, and angel shape, along with decorating gel, sprinkles, and four food-safe markers.  And because they’ve donated two, that means one additional reader will win a kit!  Thank you, Michelle.

Little Alouette

This is a very sweet mom-and-pop shop (literally), where they make all-natural wooden toys and baby gear for little ones from their home.  Little Alouette creates blocks, rattles, and more, using maple wood and organic seed oils as a finish.  Their stuff is beautifully simple.

Little Alouette is giving away a maple rattler teether, perfect for your baby or for a baby shower gift.  Let the drooling begin.

Ambajam

Ambajam carries the cutest baby gear, including mix-n-match clothing and accessories and some really great blankets, quilts, and pillows.  Their cuddle blankets get rave reviews around the blogosphere – most have said they’re like squeezing a cloud.

Ambajam is donating a mini cuddle to the gift basket, a great on-the-go blanket made with double-sided plush felt, and adorned with an embroidered baby turtle.  Love it.

Swaddlebees

Margarita began sewing diapers for her newborn in 2004, and today, she runs Swaddlebees, her organic fabric diaper business that also sells covers, accessories, and high-quality cloth diapers in 32 designer fabrics.  The diapers are lined with organic cotton, which is non-toxic and non-irritating, and contain no bleach, chlorine, or pesticides.  Its specially-woven microfleece is 95 percent less susceptible to detergent build-up.  Cloth diapering is now just as easy an option as disposable, with so many choices, supplies, and well-made materials.  They just make so much sense ecologically and economically.

Swaddlebees is giving one reader one of their latest pocket Econappis in a fun print.  This is perfect for the parent who wants to give cloth diapering a spin.

Laugh-Friendly

Two sisters, Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice, created the world of Nana Star based on characters created years ago by their grandmother.  The stories are above all concerned with inspiring character by encouraging traditional values like compassion, kindness, and generosity.  Their beautifully-illustrated picture books are created to build character in youngsters – they promote positive values in a simple and imaginative manner.  So sweet.

The Laugh Friendly publishers are giving a wonderful set to the gift basket – the books “Nana Star” and “Nana Star and The Moonman,” a Nana Star poseable doll, and a Moonman Lovey.  In addition – and this is what I just love – they will give the winner an additional one to donate to their favorite charity, children’s hospital, library, school, organization, or caregiver.  What a quality company.

MetroTots

Mary Ann Schwanewede of MetroTots is an urban mom in New York City, and had a problem I can definitely relate to – where to store the stroller.  Those of us that live in metropolitan cities – and the suburbs, too – know that storage space is at a premium, and strollers can be cumbersome-yet-essential gear.  She created the StrollAway, an over-the-door storage system that works for most models of strollers.  It’s made of durable steel and is adjustable to nine different positions.  So simple, but it’s brilliant.

MetroTots is giving one StrollAway to the gift basket.  You better believe I’m psyched about a product that is both created by a mom and reduces clutter and streamlines home organization.  I’m in love with this thing.

Whew…  What a giveaway, no?  The total value is over $230 – most of this would make wonderful Christmas presents, so it’s just in time for the holidays.

How To Win

1.  Leave a comment on this post and tell me something cute your little one does or says (or if you’re not a parent, it can be any little one in your life). I know this will be really challenging for you.

2. For a second entry, blog or Twitter about this giveaway and make sure I know about it.

No secret code this time…  I’m still recovering from the last secret code giveaway.

This giveaway ends on Wednesday, December 3 at midnight CST.

I hope you win!

Tammy 11.28.08 at 11:16 am

Oh dear, I’d love to win this! My little one has another 13 weeks before she makes her appearance, so right now the cutest thing she does is kick when my dh says goodbye to her in the morning, when he leaves for work! :)

Nina Watts 11.28.08 at 11:19 am

My little guy is 6 mths old and he flaps his arms like a penguin when he’s excited about something. If you bring out a favorite toy or a book he loves, it’s his way of saying “YES YES YES!!”

Susanna 11.28.08 at 11:19 am

As we were walking through the store this week, my four-year-old queried, “Mommy, does Santa obey God?” … and I realized that when the idea of Santa has to find definition in a child’s theology, it might be time to dispel the myth.

Michelle Reply:

I have a four year old as well who is starting to ask similar questions. I bought the book “God Gave us Christmas” and she is going to get it on the first day of advent. It’s a really cute book about the real reason we celebrate. There is a little bit about how Santa is nice because he teaches us generosity but really focuses on God and Jesus.

Ah, so many cute things. I love that my son asks for a massage. “Mommy, can you give me a massage?”

How can I say no to a massage lovin’ kiddo?

Kris

Kris Reply:

My just turned 3 year old daughter also asks for massages, once she said ” Momma, my chest hurts can you massage my legs?”
Awhile back when driving in the car, in her cutest little chimpmunk voice ever, she said “Mom your cool, wanna go break some rules?”
She also corrected a family member that they were not eating avacado but instead they were eating ‘blocamole’.
When she has gas (which is quite often) she calls it ‘poofing’. She says “Oops, I poofed.”
She calls her father and I by our first names and she yells to him from atop the stairs in the evening when he come home “Hey Doug, how was your day?”
…it’s too funny..

Erica 11.28.08 at 11:21 am

Only one… my littledt daughter always asks her big sister to “sing me to sweep”. Then I hear my older one begin “Jesus Loves Me” only she says “Jesus loves Livvie”.

Carla 11.28.08 at 11:23 am

Wow… lots of fabulous goodies!! :) My 5 yr. old dd has a sweet thing she’s started to say… i’ll ask her to clean up or to do something, and she’ll say, “I know, you know, I know”. lol!! Makes me laugh everytime!! Oh.. can I add something else? My 1 1/2 yr old loves nothing better than jumping on the couch when she’s not supposed to stand *or* jump on them… we always put her down on her bottom and say “bum bum!”, so she’ll start jumping on the couch saying “Bum!!! bum!!!!”. lol!!

Becky 11.28.08 at 11:24 am

Oh my, I could write a book of cute things! :) My amazing little 4 month old is just starting to laugh, which is an instant stress reliever. My 2 and 1/2 year old is pretty much the coolest kid ever, and everything he does is cute (except putting things in the toilet!). One of my favorite things that he does is that he ALWAYS has to have a notebook to carry around because he always find “Blues Clues” wherever we go, so he has to put it in his “Hannie Dannie bopbook!!” I would love to win this, I’m crossing my fingers-my sweet little guys would love it all!

On of my favorite things that my 2 y/o daughter says right now is: when something is upside down, she asks you to make it “upside up!” It actually makes more sense than the “correct” way. :-)

There are so many cute things that it’s hard to choose one though. Thanks for a great giveaway!

Eryn 11.28.08 at 11:28 am

When my husband leaves for work in the mornings, as shes saying goodbye, my 3.5yr old goes thru this routine of hand signs with Daddy. First is a wave goodbye, then the ASL sign for I Love You, then two fingers up for Peace, then, to show school spirit equally, she shows us the horns (UTxAustin), the roadrunner (UTxSA), and ‘guns up’ (TxTech). It’s so cute. A little OCD, but cute nonetheless. :)

We can always tell when our six-month daughter is tired, because she puts both of her hands behind her head in the “ah, this is the life” pose. One day she was playing in her exersaucer, and I looked over to see her sitting there with her hands behind her head! Definitely time for a snooze!

When it’s a good snowfall outside, My 4 year old says, “It’s snowing like it’s Christmas.” He has also observed that “Mommy only lays one person at a time” (He’s referring to childbirth). When my 18 month old wants candy or anything really sweet he poinmts to it and makes a “nya” sound followed by a toungue click.

Jessica 11.28.08 at 11:46 am

Even though he can say “Da-da”, my 16-month-old boy calls his Daddy “Tat-tat” and the name has stuck! DH even refers to himself as Tat-tat at work, lol. Thanks for the chance to win!

Lisa 11.28.08 at 11:53 am

my little guy is only 2 months old, so his tricks are limited. but my favorite is when he’s “standing” on daddy’s lap, and daddy swings his legs around and makes kung-fu sounds and moves…

My two are 4 and 7. I’m entering this giveaway for my dear friend who is expecting her first baby-what a great gift to give her.

The cutest thing was just yesterday when my 3 year old grandson came on the phone and sang me the entire alphabet song. I was totally shocked! He was born 3 months premature and has so many medical problems always getting poked and prodded by the doctors and nurses yet he is always so happy. Yet to hear him sing that song was pure joy. He sounded so cute. Thank you!

Tina 11.28.08 at 11:57 am

He’s grown out of this pronunciation, but my son used to say:

“I sisa waka you.”

Translation: I want to sit on your lap.

He would usually say it as he was climbing onto my lap for a cuddle.

It’s so sad when they grow out of their baby ways of saying things. More than little toes, or sleepers or tiny shoes, I miss the way little ones talk.

Sarah 11.28.08 at 11:57 am

What a fab giveaway! I have a 16-month-old, so he’s really into “dipping” his food right now. Doesn’t matter what it is–as long as he can dip it into something, he will eat it! Even the hottest salsa at the Mexican restaurant!!

What an incredible giveaway! Since we don’t have kids, I would have too much fun passing on each item to different friends, each to whoever would most appreciate it. :)

Recently at a friends’ house, their 1 year old figured out how to open up the seat of a plastic scooter toy. He opened and closed the lid, putting in and removing a ball, several dozen times. Each time he jabbered, “Whehz da baaaa?” (translation “where’s the ball?!”) Afterwards when someone marveled at how entertained he was by the lid of a scooter seat, my husband remarked that the truly funny thing was how half a dozen adults were entertained by him by opening and closing the seat lid!

My four year old daughter heaved a big sigh one morning, so big that I looked up from my work and asked, “What’s wrong, baby?”

Well. . .how can I possibly only mention ONE cute thing my little Henry (8 months) does??? He’s taken to only wanting his daddy once he gets home from work, he loves to be on the bed when you’re making it (and to help fluff and straighten the sheets), he makes the sweetest little cooing sounds, he loves to be kissed over and over on his forhead and back of his head, he makes little oh’s with his mouth and then giggles adorably when you do it back. . .

Sorry, I guess you really did ask for only one cute thing. . .

I hope I win!!!

While babysitting some of my friends boys (at the time were ages 6 and 4), I asked them if they would like to go sledding. The oldest said “No thanks, but my dad will be home soon, he can take you sledding when he gets home.” It was the cutest and funniest response! My friends are raising thoughtful little boys :)

I have a 3 yr old little girl who is ALWAYS eating, unlike her 4 yr old brother who NEVER eats. It is pretty adorable to us, because she looks at us innocently at the kitchen table WAITING patiently for her food, And she blurts out the word “poo”. At first we had no clue what she was saying until finally we realized that she was saying “spoon”. So now everyday she says it knowing that it will make us crack up. :)

We found out my sister-in-law is pregnant with #3 yesterday (Thanksgiving Day). When we told my daughter (age two) we said Auntie is going to have a baby and she said, “for me?” She then asked if she was going to get the baby at the grocery store. She is very puzzled over the whole thing.

My son, age 4, is in love with Buzz Lightyear. When he is playing he will put his arms out straight in front of him and say, “to infipipi and yeyon.” (To Infinity and Beyond.)

Felicia 11.28.08 at 12:16 pm

My son likes to call other people by his name, which is pretty cute.

Charity 11.28.08 at 12:17 pm

I baked oatmeal butterscotch cookies the other day. When my son was eating one, he wandered up to me, looking at his cookie. “Are there carrots in this?” “No” “Is it cheese?” “No – son, what are you talking about?” “I see something orange in my cookie…”

So funny, he’s sure I’m constantly sneaking healthy food into his treats! :0) (Which is fair, because usually, I am!)

Early yesterday morning (yes, Thanksgiving Day) we took my little guy to the ER. He’s 9 months. He was such a trooper as the doctor checked him out, at one point he looked up at me and smiled. i hope i win, too. this is a great basket! hmm…our toddler beatrice is a constant source of cuteness and humor (at least to my husband and i). one thing that she does that is really funny is she mimicks the toungue motion of our dog. she does not talk yet but when we ask, “how does the dog kiss” she pushes her tounge in and out of her mouth just like our dog barry! it’s hilarious.

Serena 11.28.08 at 12:28 pm

The cutest thing my 3 year old ever did was during my pregnancy. I had a very hard 2nd pregnancy and was constantly holding my belly, and I guess I complained quite a bit about the baby kicking. It got to the point where my son would come sit next to me, and hold his belly too saying “ooooohhh, my belly hurts – the baby’s kicking sooooo hard”. The first time he said that I laughed so hard I cried. It made me smile and realize what a wonderful little boy I had!

What an awesome giveaway! My six year old just made me laugh when he was recently writing out a list of things he was thankful for. One of them was his ” two bros” which surprised me because he usually tries to sound things phonetically, at least. I asked him why he spelled it like that and he said because of Mario Bros! Too much nintendo, maybe?

DD (21mos) has started to say “okay” for any positive answer.

Julia, do you want to go outside? “Okay”

Julia screams: “juice, juice, juice!” we respond: “You’d like some juice?” Julia, in a very calm tone: “okay” as if we’d never heard her screaming.

Us: “do you like Stella (the new lab)” Julia: “okay”

We have a silly girl. And I don’t have a blog, or twitter account, so this is my one shot!
Thanks for your insights!

Currently my three year old loves to tell me things are an accident. If she does something she knows she’s not supposed to, she always says, “Don’t worry mommy, it was an accident and accidents happen.” I guess that’s what I get for telling her accident’s happen when we were potty training.

Mandi 11.28.08 at 12:51 pm

What a great giveaway!

My current favorites are my 2.5 yo says “peep” instead of “pee”, “I went peep in my diaper.” And my 1 yo says “balalala” for “banana.” My 4 yo pretty much keeps us laughing all the time. Yesterday she stayed the night at my mom’s, but I was a little worried because she had an upset stomach. A couple hours after we left, she said, “I think we better call mom and tell her everything’s going to be all right.”

Thanks, and I tweeted you too (@DoodlesPlace).

After drilling my 2 and a half year old nephew about what’s in his own mommy’s tummy (his baby brother due January 2009), I finally have him trained on the difference between siblings and cousins (in anticipation of the birth of our first in March 2009). When I ask him what’s in mommy’s tummy, he replies, “A baby.” When asked what kind, he replies, “A regular baby.” When asked what’s in Aunt Rachel’s tummy, he replies, “A cousin baby.” Too sweet–I guess babies come in all forms including regular and cousin….

R Lander 11.28.08 at 12:56 pm

My kids say SO many funny things. My fav story is when my youngest was VERY attached to his sippy cup. It was his security blanket…er, sippy?

On a long road trip out to Texas my husband excitedly told the children, “Look guys, once we’re over this river we’ll be in Mississippi!” At this point my youngest began wailing in near hysterics. Finally he calmed down enough to choke out between sobs, “It’s NOT Mrs. Sippy…. It’s MY sippy!!!!!!!!!”

I’m happy to report we did not drive off the road laughing… but it was a close call. Of course the little one was NOT amused that we were laughing either which prompted MORE tears. Eventually he calmed down and all was well. :-)

My 18 month old daughter loves to look at books with us. When she wants us to read with her she plops down on the floor with her book, pats the floor next to her and says very seriously, “Dow!” How could we not sit down and enjoy that book with our cutie?

What an amazing giveaway! Ok here are a couple of things – she calls our dog ‘Ford’ instead of his name “Clifford” We hear her calling “Ford” all over the house :) When she thinks we should be leaving someplace, she yells ‘bye’ as loud as she can. She is 18 months old so it is all still quite precious :)

I still look pregnant. I told her that when you have a baby your tummy stretches and it takes some time to get back to normal. My son pipes up and says, Mom that was six months ago and that’s half a year and that’s a long time.

Nice. Thanks son.

I’ve blogged about the giveaway on my blog.

At 4 m0nths old, my son is constantly blowing raspberries. Even his cries are punctuated with “pbbthbthb”. Naturally I find this adorable!

What a fantastic giveway!

Just this morning my two year old son asked for his fan (small battery powered) while he was sitting in his highchair for breakfast…when I gave it to him, he started fanning his oatmeal and told me “too hot!”. Too Cute!

Thanks again, Simple Mom for such generous giveways!

For my first entry: I am 22 wks pregnant with our first, so I will tell something my sweet nephew does. He just turned 3 and is one cuddly guy. I get to spend a lot of time with him and he has been doing this for the past year. Whenever it’s time for his nap he will say “ok come on Aunt Laura lets go lay down” Without a doubt whenever I am there he will do this and then when we lay down he will just put his little arm around me and pat my back or rub my head. It is just the sweetest thing! Makes my heart melt every time. Even though I will sneak out once he is asleep, it makes his day, and mine :)

For my second entry I blogged about this giveaway :)

What a great giveaway! I have a 2 year old and a six month old. My 2 year old makes us laugh all the time. Her Daddy plays the guitar and whenever he gets his out, she gets out her play guitar too so she can play with Daddy. It doesn’t seem to matter what song he’s singing, she always sings “Yeeeees Jesus loves meeeeeee!” as she strums away on her guitar!

We thought it was a mistake, but now she says it anytime anything drops to the floor… She’ll throw her pacifier out of the crib and yell “uh-oh” and even looked at a stranger in the grocery store when they dropped a box of pasta… “uh-oh.”

We still can’t believe she learned “uh-oh” before “mama” or “dada”!!

Katie 11.28.08 at 1:43 pm

I have a 3 year old who has a few good bedtime excuses: “Quarterbacks do not brush their teeth” and for not having to go to sleep in HIS room, “There is not enough air in there.” Hmmm…I’ll have to note oxygen on the grocery list for the next trip.

Rebecca F. 11.28.08 at 1:48 pm

Well, can I get an entry for a “cute” thing that is a little risque?? My 3 year old was inquiring about pubic hair and asked “Mommy, how come the hair dresser doesn’t cut that hair??”

*Ahem*

Donna A 11.28.08 at 1:56 pm

My 10 month old son can say “Hi Daadee” when my husband walks in the door. Just priceless!!

Colleen 11.28.08 at 1:56 pm

Thumper should be making his/her grand entrance in 8 weeks (or 10 at the most). His/her favorite thing to do is kick Daddy in the head when my husband puts his head down near my belly. I don’t know if it’s the sound of his voice, but something certainly sets the child off.
If I don’t win, I have to get one of those Giraffe onesies. Between my husband and I our kid is guaranteed to be tall (already is according to the last ultrasound).

I have 2 grandsons, ages 2 years and 2 months. I also have a great niece who is 11 months old so I have lots of cute things going on around all the time!
But, the cutest thing, I think, is that my 2 year old grandson says “Oh, okay” for “yes”. For instance, he could be crying over something and when we try to redirect his attention to something else, he immediately stops crying and says “oh, okay”. It’s so cute, and his little voice is just so sweet.
Okay one more thing: I love it when I walk into his house and he says, very excitedly, “HI Nana!”
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop!
Thanks for the opportunity! I hope I win for those 3 great kids!

Right now my boys (5 + 3) are loving Peter Pan – the most recent live action version. They make swords out of everything they can find, from carrots to my spatulas and mixing spoons, and re-enact scenes from the movie. My 3 y.o. is usually Hook. So much fun.

My 5 mo old son likes to take his pacifier out of his mouth, remove his sock and suck on his toes while using his other leg to keep his bouncy seat bouncing.

Amy 11.28.08 at 4:26 pm

My 4 year old always says, “Ha, ha, ha- just don’t you worry about that, momma.” My one year old always smiles impishly and shrugs when you ask her a question.

mamabeck 11.28.08 at 4:28 pm

My littlest, Elijah, only 3 months old, hums as he snuggles in to go to sleep, with each breath out. He seems to do it out of peace, happiness, and security, because it stops when we lay him down in his bed… Love that!

Posted over on my blog about your giveaway as well!

What a fab giveaway! With a 2-year old and one on the way, I’m drooling just scrolling through the goodies.

Lately, my 2yo has seen me pretty sick with morning sickness, and she always pats my head and says “Don’t cry mama, I loooove you!” Just breaks my heart!

My little one will dance stop what she is doing and try to dance when she hears music. Although I think she got her dad’s rhythm. She kind of wobbles and sticks her belly out when she is trying to dance.

Our little guy (4 months) smiles and laughs and it is super cute!

Amanda 11.28.08 at 4:44 pm

When my son son says I’m sorry to my daughter he pats and rubs her head. I think it’s hilarious!

Kirsten 11.28.08 at 4:47 pm

What a great basket!
My little guy (2 years) had a cold last week and his nose was stuffy. He told me “There is a noise in my nose!” He keeps me smiling.

Christine 11.28.08 at 4:49 pm

My 9 month old son does the mini “hulk.” He clenches his fists, holds his breath making his face go red, ending in an explosive grunt! I don’t know where (or who) he got it from!

caitlin 11.28.08 at 4:53 pm

My little man (2 yrs) is always trying to eat off out plates, or whining or various other things. So we tell him he needs to ask. So he always comes back with, “Ask, yeah ask. Foooood? Mease? Okay.” And then he thinks he can grab whatever it was. Cracks me up.

I don’t have my own little one, but my nephew is absolutely adorable – so hard to narrow down the cute things he does! He’s such a polite little kid, and I’ve noticed that every time anyone gives him something, wipes his mouth, holds his hand, or just sits with him, he’ll say “Thank You.” It’s so simple, but so sweet to see such a polite little guy (and he’s not even two yet).

My 3-year-old Emily has learned the Zaccheus song in Sunday School. She knows most of the words and the melody and sings it all with great gusto. The second line puzzled us for awhile. She sings it “He climbed up in the sic-him-up (sycamore) tree”. She also wants to be called by whatever name she decides. Right now, that is “Big-Girl-Emily-Elizabeth-Barnes-Doctor-Princess-Mei-Mei (Chinese for little sister).

Christine 11.28.08 at 5:19 pm

The cutest thing a little boy in my life does is talk about another little girl as “My Bella.” Her name is Bella. And he talks about her until he sees her and then gets all shy. They are going to be so embarrassed when they grow up!

Andrea W. 11.28.08 at 5:25 pm

I have a 4 month-old, and I think just about every little thing she does is cute. (I am a wee bit biased.) I find it funny that she grunts when she poops. It’s too stinkin’ cute – literally.

Even though my daughter is 3 1/2 and can pronounce words correctly she still holds on to her baby pronunciation of the words “lellow” for yellow and “plano” for piano. It’s so sweet and I never correct her because it reminds me that she’s still my baby!

Summer 11.28.08 at 5:38 pm

My 2 year old ds likes to repeat my own little mannerisms. His latest thing is that he will say “Ok, Ok, Ok!” when I ask him to do something. Imust say that a lot to him! I just love it though …. it makes him seem so grown up!

I’ve loved reading everyone elses’s stories. We have a bunch of little characters around here!

Barbara 11.28.08 at 5:53 pm

My little guy misses his older sister when she’s at school, and she misses him. When we go to pick her up, he excitedly says “i missed you!” and she says it back. Very cute at 2 & 4 years old.

Valerie 11.28.08 at 5:58 pm

When my 3-year old is sad he says “I hold you” instead of “you hold me”.

Kelly 11.28.08 at 6:03 pm

My 2 1/2 year old sweet pea amazes me every day with something cute and new to say. Sheesh, I must be reading too many Dr. Seuss books. Anyway…two of my favorite things she says is lasterday for yesterday and yesternight for last night.
A cute thing she does lately is that she knows Mama loves to scrapbook and still does not like to smile for the camera. She is meeting me in the middle by smiling with only her eyes. Yep, her mouth stays straight and her eyes squint up a smile. Too funny!
We are just starting the simplicity process and think you have picked wonderful items for your give away!

My favorite thing that my twin 19 month old boys are doing right now is singing. They sing some recognizable songs and I love to hear them sing about Jesus’ love for them but I also thoroughly enjoy when they sing, in their sweet voices, songs that they have made up. It truly makes my day and reminds me how blessed I am to be a mommy.

All of my children have always said “Hold you!” when they want to be held. It’s so precious. I was distraught when my five year old stopped saying it. There are so many other things, but that’s the first thing that popped into my head.

Carey 11.28.08 at 6:19 pm

My 3 1/2 yr old nephew recently saw a mini-van in a parking lot and told his mom that he wanted one. My sister-in-law, ever the simple mom, explained that since they only had 2 kids, they didn’t need one. At Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, my nephew announces that his mommy is going to have 2 more babies, Toodles and Kiki, and that they’ll then get a mini-van. When pressed further about the babies, he sighed with exasperation and replied, “Ugh! We don’t have them now, because Mommy hasn’t cooked them yet!

Lara 11.28.08 at 6:25 pm

I was driving with my three year old in the backseat when I driver cut me off. I bit my tongue trying not to swear and instead said, “What a turkey!” and my three year old said, “Where, mommy, where is the turkey?” He really truly thought that there was a Thanksgiving turkey in the road!

My two year olds think that their Daddy lives in the computer because we chat with him via Skype while he’s in Iraq. The girl has loved books since she first saw one when she was a few days old. We read every night when she was a baby, and read every night now. Today she asked, “Where is that adult Bible that you have? I’m going to read it when I get home.” I tried to explain that it was a hard book, that I’d been reading it for years and hadn’t read all of it yet, but she was undeterred. And she’s sitting on her bed reading it now (she’s 7). I don’t need to win, but it would be great to have a cache of shower presents in the house.

What a great basket-the perfect gift for my dear friend who is, at long last 6 months pregnant.
My 2 1/2 year old guy says “popastickle” instead of popsicle which is so funny. But the sweetest thing he does is this- when he wants to give me a kiss he says “move your nose?” and I have to move my nose a little so he has a clear shot to my lips. SO sweet.

What a wonderful array of prizes! Thank you for the opportunity to enter this giveaway. I’m really excited! My two daughters (two, and four months) really like to “play” together. Their favorite game involves my toddler bouncing on my bed while the baby lies there and watches. The first time we heard our 4mo laugh was while her sister bounced for her. They both light up when they are with each other–it really makes my heart feel good! I have three brothers, so I love seeing the two of them enjoy each others company.

Kyra 11.28.08 at 7:28 pm

My 1 year old doesn’t see her dad very much as he works from home for 2-3 months at a time. However her highchair faces some pictures of us on the wall and she always says Dada! when eating (also while walking past them carrying her). So after wards I have to bring her over to the wall and point him out to her as she says dada about 10 more times. It’s been about 2 1/2 months since she’s seen him, too.

Stacey 11.28.08 at 7:30 pm

My little one has learned to “kinda” say I LOVE YOU and then blow a kiss. She does it to everyone who comes up to her while I’m holding her!

I can’t tell you how what she does is better than any medicine. It leaves everyone she talks to in a better mood!

Kyra 11.28.08 at 7:33 pm

My 1 year old doesn’t see her dad very much as he works from home for 2-3 months at a time. Her highchair faces a wall that has several photos on it of us, and she’ll say Dada! while eating and also while I’m carrying her past them. Then I have to hold her up by them and point out Dada to her while she grins and says it again about 10 times. He’s been gone for about 2 11/2 months now, yet several times a day she does this.

My sister-in-law is pregnant…with her fourth child. She sent me this email the other day and I thought I would share part of it…my nieces are absolutely hilarious…

“It all began when Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and God put a curse on all women during child bearing and labor. . . Here I am, sick as a dog (which Emma [the eldest child, 6 y.o.] told me to go outside and eat some grass because it helps dogs when they’re sick so it might help me too!). I’m sick all day long, can’t keep much of anything down, I’m tired, moody, whiny, I’m just so delightful to be around. Last night, Scott [husband] was home and I got sick. Well, all of the girls think it’s a show and they all come to watch, like I really want an audience when I’m puking my guts out. So, Scott comes and gets them all out. I lay in bed and Isabella [3 y.o.] comes in and asks me what’s wrong. I told her I just felt sick. She grabs her stomach, and with a sick look on her face (she must’ve been copying what I looked like) she tells me she does not feel good. She then goes to the bathroom, lifts up the toilet lid, bends over and spits in the toilet. She looks up at me and says, ‘I feel much better now!’ AAAHHHHH, how I wish it was that easy!”

Kids do say the darnedest things! This basket would definitely be great for my much deserving sister-in-law.

My three-year-old is a chatterbox with a wide vocabulary, but he often has his own way of saying things. I guess it’s our fault as parents for not correcting him, but it’s so darn cute. Some of the things he says are: hotel = “ho-en-tel”, oatmeal = “open-meal”, cranberries = “red raisins”, raviolis used to be called “holy-colies”… those are just a few I can remember off the top of my head. I guess I should write them down before I forget them. I would love to win this as we are expecting our 2nd child in July and will have uses for everything!

My just-turned 3 year old girl said to me just the other day in the car” Mom your cool, wanna break some rules?” I couldn’t believe it, we don’t watch TV( but she has seen some videos) and she goes to a Christian daycare twice a week…not too sure where she got it. She also corrected a family member last week, they weren’t eating avacado they were eating ‘blocamole’. When she has gas she calls it poofing! She also calls her father and I by our given names which I think is funny. Her dad comes home and she yells downstairs ” Hey Doug, how was your day” …..Too funny that girl.

My 3 1/2 yr old daughter loves music/dancing. She knows the words to “You are my sunshine” and loves to sing it for anybody. Instead of singing “when skies are gray” she says “you guys are great”. She looks so adorable when she is singing it (and she knows it)!!!

just reading these are cracking me up! I am so glad you had this wonderful idea!

i was at Thanksgiving and my 2nd cousin Cody (wildman) told me to tell his cousins…. that he doesn’t “like” them anymore, that he is grown up now and now he knows they are weird. He used to run around trying to kiss them all the time. Now he tells any gal over the age of 12 they are hot. he is a hot mess! We are all related! not sure how this bit of info missed him. there are about 100 ppl on the side of the famly though.

Wow! Seriously, how many awesome giveaways can there be? ;o)
Our youngest is into labeling or naming everyone in the room, and sometimes counting them. Tonight as we were sitting on the couch at my in-laws before bed, she randomly said “I love you ____” to each person in the room. It was very sweet.

Mist 11.28.08 at 10:11 pm

Oh gosh! With three little ones at home, it’s impossible to choose just one cute thing. Let’s see…

Our oldest and only son just had his first run-in with a Salvation Army bell ringer. I gave him and his sister each a handful of coins to put in the bucket. He promptly deposited his money, then looked at the bellringer and said, “I gave you my money! Why are you still ringing that darn bell!?” I wasn’t sure whether to be mortified or to laugh, but since the bellringer was laughing, I did too.

His twin sister is so very loving, and she never has favorites among her parents. If her daddy asks if she loves him best, she’ll say, “I love you both the same, and that’s A LOT!” Melts our hearts every time.

The littlest isn’t talking very much yet, but we find it rather hilarious that if we’re slow to answer her call in the morning she’ll start saying “Mama” over and over again. If that doesn’t work, she switches to “Papa,” and if we still haven’t come to her at that point she resorts to the combination tactic, “Mapa!” I hate to admit it, but sometimes we actually leave refrain from getting her just so that we can here the progression. I know, we’re horrible parents!

My son who is 5 has quite the vocabulary, using words like “dissipate” and “precarious” accurately and intelligently. But then he also tells me when things are “op-s0-lighded” (LOPSDIDED) and it was only a few weeks ago when I convinced him that it was a PUMP-KIN not “pumpk-man”.

Thanks for your great blog.

My little two-year old neice was with us and we were going to get cupcakes and so I asked her if she wanted a cupcake. My brother, being funny, said “Or do you want a butt kick?” She thought about that for a minute and said, “I want a butt kick mom!” She is too cute!!

To pick just one thing cute that my kids say is a hard one.
This one came to my mind first,

Suzanne 11.28.08 at 10:45 pm

Oh, so hard to choose one cute thing. My 3-year-old is currently into flexing his muscles, “just bike this, Mommy!” (”bike” means like). My one-year-old…well, everything she does is cute! You know, using everything as a telephone, singing…oh the singing is almost too cute…I could go on and on. =)

Wow, I just found your website and I love it. What a wonderful give away.

We were at a family get together this last week. My 5 month old was rolling around on the floor where the kids were all playing. One of the one-year-old girl cousins sat down by him and was patting his back. My two-year-old little boy came running over and wedged his way between Mia and Nate, and threw Mia’s hand away. He shouted “No! My Nate-an! No touch!” he is suddenly very protective of his baby brother. I love it. It melts my heart.

Becky Aguirre 11.28.08 at 11:26 pm

Neat! Cool stuff…my 16 month old loves to say “Wow!” in this growly little voice and he says it at the funniest moments, too! This morning he pulled the parakeet cage off of the end table, surveyed the resulting disaster, and exclaimed…”WOW!” He keeps us giggling with that “wow”. :)

Heather Moll 11.29.08 at 12:06 am

Wow, what an incredible giveaway!!!! Well, I’ll share what my 2 year old says because my 2 month old isn’t saying too much these days. ;)

2 weeks ago i really hurt my back and dh had to come home to help out with the kids so he explained to our daughter (she just turned 2) that i had hurt my back and she needed to be careful and not ask me to do too much for her. so she blurts out, “your back sore, mommy? i call dr. jeana (our chiropractor)” then she goes and finds the phone and holds it up to her ear and says, “hello, dr. jeana, mommy’s back sore. okay. okay. bye bye.”

She is constantly saying things like make us laugh all day long. Not too long ago she saw the moon in the sky when we were driving home and she looked and me and said, “Mommy, you get the moon for me please?”

We recently just had our second child and when ever our 3 and 1/2 year old talks to anyone the first thing he says is “I have a baby brother”. We were so worried that he wouldn’t adjust but he has not only adjusted but fallen in love. Whenever his brother cries he goes to him and says “don’t cry, it’s okay, I’m here”.
My 3 month old stares at his older brother all day long, craneing that little neck if he has to. I can just foresee that my eldest is going to lead him into lots of mischief!
Great giveaway! I love the stroller storer!

Something I find is hilarious is that of my four children, all perfectly bilingual (italian/English), one has a slight Italian accent in English, on has the strongest American accent , the third speaks perfect and posh British and the wee one will always pick Italian pronouns in ANY sentence (even in English) except for him’s (which he uses to say his, and being a tot he is in the process of perfecting his language skills!)

I have 18 month old twin boys. Right now they think they are both named Owen. It is so cute to see them run to find each other shouting ‘Owen, Owen.’ Mason will wake up from nap before Owen and when he hears Owen wake up he runs to his door, pushes it open shouting ‘Owen, Owen.’ Owen sees Mason come in to get him and immediately starts jumping up and down in his crib. At bedtime they give each other goodnight ‘kisses’ which is them leaning in towards each other and rubbing their heads or cheeks together. So sweet.

I also live overseas. I have a five month old little boy. All the local folks here think foreigners look the same. Recently I was babysitting for a friend’s 2 year old little girl. I ran into my neighbor who often sees me with my son. She said, ” 5 month’s old and your little boy can already walk” I replied, “yes, I was surprised how fast he growing up”. She stood there in amazement believing me until I fessed up it was my friends kid.

Yep…”see ya wouldn’t wanna be ya.” I had to laugh to disguise my embarrassment!

My youngest, 10 months, has the most contageous giggle! She keeps us thankful and smiling! Awesome giveaway!

Cami 11.29.08 at 1:32 pm

While saying prayers at bedtime we always give our kids the opportunity to say what they want to thank God for. We’ll say, “Thank you God for…” and let them fill in the blank. My son, since he was old enough to start this has said, “Thank you for Papa… and Grandma… and chocwat.” Translation: Chocolate. That’s right, my son thanks God for chocolate EVERY night. His sincerity about it never ceases to crack me up!

Janene 11.29.08 at 2:08 pm

Something funny my daughter (4 years) did was come up for a name for our unborn baby should it be a girl. She said, “Mom, I have a beautiful name for the baby. . . . Emily Sparkles!” All I could do was laugh and say, “Yes Sweetie, that is a VERY beautiful name!” Ahh the funny things kids say!

Charissa 11.29.08 at 2:21 pm

My 1 year old daughter already loves to brush her teeth. She’ll search through the bathroom drawers until she finds a toothbrush and then sticks it in her mouth like Momma and Daddy do. Good dental hygiene already! :-) What a great giveaway!!

My husband and I were taking our sons, one almost three and the other who is just one to their Grandma’s house. We told the oldest we are going to Grandma’s. He said “Oh, are you and Daddy going on a date?” I think maybe Grandma is babysitting to often.

sarah 11.29.08 at 2:40 pm

While tucking my son in to bed the other night, I said to him ” I wish you were still 4!” (He is 10.) He says to me, ” Mom, I wish you were still 27!”
So funny!

This looks awesome! My 15-month old knows the alphabet! In our church nursery they have a rug with the letters running around the border. Although she’s walking well, she immediately sits down and starts crawling around the rug saying her letters with a huge grin as she goes.

My daughter (2 years old) puts plastic bags on her socks and then “skates” around the house. She recites over and over again “Annie play gockey!” (hockey) And then she pretends to body check her Raggedy Ann doll. :-l

You can tell she’s got uncles and a Papa that love hockey! They’re teaching her already!

‘no i dont’ is the standard answer for any question you ask my toddler these days, hope its a quick phase!

Laura J 11.29.08 at 3:31 pm

Since my little boy can’t speak yet (he’s 8 months), one of the cutest things he does is scoot on his little bum towards the door and flap his arms wildly when he hears daddy’s keys and footsteps coming up the steps! We have hardwood floors and he can be across the dining room in less than a minute!

Julie Jones 11.29.08 at 3:34 pm

Well, about the only thing my little one is saying these days is “No!” But it’s adorable when he says it, for the time being anyway.
What a great giveaway! Hope I win!

Stephanie 11.29.08 at 5:21 pm

My little one is due any day now; but the cute thing he or she does is get excited and kick me over and over after I’ve eaten beef.

alisha 11.29.08 at 5:27 pm

My little one is 3. Instead of saying he forgot something he says he got for to do something. It’s too cute to correct!

Dena 11.29.08 at 5:43 pm

Our baby is on the way, too, but before we were married my husband lived with some friends. We’re living in China and they speak English but mostly speak in Chinese at home. One morning while he was getting ready to go in his bedroom she came and leaned up against the door (she was only two), and said, “Are you going to take a shower today?” It was such a complete question for a Chinese speaking baby. I’m not sure where she got it.

I’ve never known a child as funny as my 2 year old son, but then again I’ve never been around any other child as much as him. He says and does all sorts of funny things. The latest is that he says “oh my goodness” to himself when he’s really excited. He also does this little jig when he’s really happy (not just your ordinary child dance moves either), he swings his hips back and forth, kind of like Elvis. Oh, and he also likes to tell people they have “chubby buns.” Luckily not everyone understands that is what he is saying.

Fabulous give-away; love your blog; it helps me get through my days!

So many things I could say, but what is fresh in my mind is from today. My oldest daughter (6) came running over to me while playing in the playroom and said, “Mom, she [my 18 month old daughter] just said her first word in OUR LANGUAGE [meaning English, not baby talk]!” I smiled and said, “What did she say?” My oldest replied, “Uh Oh!” This was funny for many reasons, but a great moment with my kids this morning (three daughters: 6.5, 4.5 and 18 months)! :) Now the youngest can’t stop saying, “Uh Oh!” :)

My little girl is just shy of 4 months old and I love it when she giggles at her Daddy when he comes home from work. I will sit on the chair with Evelyn so we can see Daddy when he comes in the door. As soon as he come in Evelyn squeals and laughs and kicks and reaches for her Dada. They love each other so much.

You didn’t say how little little was, but my littlest boy is 4. If dinner was something he enjoyed (and he is always skeptical), he will ask, “Who made this?” Then, he will turn to the chef, usually me, and say, “Manks, Mama. This is deee-licious.”

I love all the goodies in the giveaway, what a great assortment!

Ok, as a mom to 2 little ones, the funniest thing my daughter has recently said/done which is a comment on society…

My 2 year old now pinches the hands and toes of all of her dolls and stuffed animals. Any item that doesn’t “say” something back is quickly turned over to me with the statement, “Mom it not work, it need new batteries.” UGH, how do you get a 2 year old to understand that some toys leave things up to your imagination?

Wow! What a great giveaway!
The cutest thing my 14 month old daughter does is a happy dance! It consists of her stomping/running in place and squealing with joy. She does her happy dance when we offer her bananas (her favorite!), when our dogs run near her or give her kisses, a song she likes is playing on the radio, or when she sees Mommy and Daddy after we have been gone for a little while. It’s the cutest thing to watch! Her face lights up and she can hardly control herself, thus the running in place. It’s enough to brighten anyone’s day!

Turtle 11.29.08 at 11:10 pm

when we lived on the island our little one always got excited when we would get anywhere near the airport…. she swore her grandparents lived there as that is where we always picked them up from.

Carrie Lim 11.29.08 at 11:11 pm

Not so sure this went through. I will try again. My daughter throws her arms up in the air whenever you say touch down and when she sees football on TV. She is only 11 months so this is pretty cute.

My 3 year old loves his daddy. Tonight in the car he was talking with a friend about when he was born and he said he came out of his daddy’s tummy. Nothing from me could persuade him to change his mind. I guess that is a battle for another day.

Not sure where it came from but my just turned 3 year old girl said to me in her cutest little chimpmunk voice ever “Mom your cool, wanna go break some rules?”
She also corrected a family member that they were not eating avacado but instead they were eating ‘blocamole’
When she has gas (which is quite often) she calls it ‘poofing’. She says “Oops, I poofed.”
She calls her father and I by our first names and she yells to him from atop the stairs in the evening when he come home “Hey Doug, how was your day?”
…it’s too funny..
